In addition, they offered phenomenal appetizers -- SO good -- pressed watermelon and feta, Gus' pretzels and white cheddar dip, chicken pot stickers, a cheese/apple/honey baguette. Although we went with the burger bar, they do also offer more traditional catering as well -- they have an incredibly expansive menu. Also they had a great price point compared to competitors in the area -- about half the cost of some other quoted prices.

We were told the decorations would be put on the tables by your team and the tear down/set up of the room would be taken care of by Russo's staff. That may not be what is on the written contract but it is 100% what my fiance and I were told. Which is why we put together boxes and a binder to be organized and helpful. I have never spoken to you so I'm not sure how you know what was discussed with us and what was not. I stated above the communication prior to our wedding day was horrendous and it was very hard to get questions answered. Maybe if communication had been better any confusion on expectations could have been cleared up. Aside from that, if you had properly read my review you would have comprehended that my complaint was not with the fact that your staff didn't set out the decorations, but with the fact they didn't communicate that they weren't going to until 10 minutes before the reception started. As I stated above my mother showed them the boxes, decorations and binder before the cocktail hour started and the staff member agreed with my mother that they would set it out. If it wasn't in the contract and they weren't planning on doing that then that was the opportunity to let that be known. However, they waited until 10 minutes before and that made us run 40 minutes behind schedule. To address your comment that the outside bar closed and the inside one opened... how were my guests supposed to get to the inside bar while they were at the outdoor cocktail hour? They could not enter because my mother and bridal party were setting up the inside of the building. Therefore my guests were outside with a closed bar while the bartender was at an empty inside bar for 40 minutes.

The wraps came with pasta salad and chips making it a whole meal. The chicken Caesar salad also looked good. Overall all of us were really pleased with our catered meal. They delivered it on time and each meal was wrapped in ceram wrap making it fresh for those that couldn't eat right away. They also brought us Individual wrapped utensils!

The Citrus-Cured Norwegian Salmon "Lox" with Traditional Garnishes & New York bagels and his Farro (WheatBerry) Salad with Dried Michigan Cherries were my favorites. The food was beautifully presented and so good that the bride & groom and a few guests asked to take some of the leftovers home so the servers packed up to-go packages for them. I hired Kirk to cater my wedding, and the food was amazing. Kirk does not normally do weddings…read morebecause he gears his catering business more toward small get togethers and "foodie" audiences. His largest group is between 60 and 100. I think one of the more popular of his services is coming to people's homes and cooking a gourmet meal for a small group of family and friends. Wedding's tend to me super stressful, and the people planning it can be hyper active, irrational, controlling, etc. There is absolutely no need to be this way with Kirk. My whole philosophy during the planning of the wedding was to let the good professionals do their job while I had a good time. I chose Kirk because I was terrified of serving "bad wedding food". I started searching for caterers online and found a mountain of results. I had no idea how to winnow down to a good, wine friendly caterer. After contemplating the problem for a while, I emailed Catherine Neville, editor and creator of Sauce Magazine. She emailed me back with three or four names. I hit the jackpot! I went with Kirk because of my love of King Louie's restaurant, which is sadly, no longer; he was a chef there a few years back. I also chose him because he was confident, laid back, and capable of providing the most services. He was willing to be a go-between for the tables, chairs, china and what not. He also understands wine--which is what we served our guests, instead of an open bar. Kirk sent me some sample menus, some pricing. I consulted with my father, who was going to find the wine. We okayed a menu and that was the end of it until the wedding. The food was gorgeous and, according to my guests, sooooo good. I was, of course, too wound up to eat. And I knew I would be. It was buffet style. I didn't want to deal with telling my guests where to sit, or having to choose between chicken or beef. So, there was fingerling potatoes, asparagus, crusty breads, chunky salads with goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, little bites of toasts with salmon and some kind of spread, dates with cheese--and much much more. So, with Kirk, his menus tend to use the most obscure name for things--which required constant Google searching while reviewing the sample menus. The only other "tip" I have is if you are working on a wedding, make sure to ask for a separate plate for the bride (for after the wedding), and make sure you get all the leftovers. I think there was some food we paid for, but didn't get to take home. I could be mistaken--but I find it improbable that my guests ate all the petite fours! After the wedding, one of my guests told me that her cousin had hired Kirk to come to her home and make a dinner for her and friends, and that it was so much fun, and so good. I didn't doubt it. I highly recommend working with Kirk for any event. You will not be disappointed, especially if food quality is important to you.

I'd had a Butler's Boardroom lunch in January at a working lunch, and it was refreshingly delightful for a "box" lunch. We fed 8 people for $129, which included a $25 delivery charge. Not bad. Each box lunch ($11) comes with fruit cup, deli-style potato chips and chef's choice dessert (cookies, lemon square, pecan brownie, raspberry bar or gooey butter bar). For $1.25 extra, you can also get a salad: Sicilian pasta salad, dill red potato salad, Thai sesame noodles or Mediterranean salad. Many items were ordered, including: tuna salad on wheat with a dill red potato salad veggie wrap (no avocado) with added provolone Butler's club of smoked turkey, bacon, lettuce and lorraine Swiss on herb ciabatta Cape Cod salad with chicken (cranberry viniagrette on the side) Thai chicken wrap (no carrots, no snow peas) beef tenderloin wrap with a Sicilian pasta salad baby spinach salad (special request for the pecan brownie) You can see the special requests of these orders . . . no avocado, viniagrette on the side, no carrots, no snow peas, pecan brownie. Every order was absolutely perfect per the diner's request. I got the butcher block, smoked turkey, roast top round, ham, salami, Cheddar jack cheese on herb brioche with a Mediterranean salad. This was an incredibly wonderful, huge, fresh sandwich. It came with stone-ground mustard, that was unique . . . couldn't have too much of it. The Mediterranean salad was Kalamata olives, pasta, tomatoes and artichoke hearts in a vinaigrette. Absolutely delicious! I saved my fruit cup and potato chips for later, and gave my dessert away. It was an incredible amount of food. Everybody enjoyed their selections. There was a time when no conversation was occurring . . . that's when everybody was diving into their food! This was a great option!! Every box was clearly labeled, and the ordered salads were in a separate box. Delivery was right on time. Everything was packaged in fabulous recyclable vessels!!
