Went to casa Maria for dinner since I was in the area. I love the decor and design of their restaurant, the vibrant colors definitely make it appealing to be in. This place has ample seating on the patio, at the bar, and in the booths. While there I noticed the waiters' efficient service whether it was my waiter or another waiter. I was given plenty of complimentary chips and salsa for the table, but after eating a few I couldn't eat anymore because of the greasiness of them. I ordered the enchilada norteña, which I enjoyed the enchiladas themselves but the guacamole and rice were a bit disappointing and lacked flavor. read more

This is my serving time visiting Casa Maria Mexican Grill, and it was just as amazing as the first time. I tried The Hangover Helper Burrito, and it was great! Reminded me of back in Arizona with the authentic Mexican food and a particular burrito known as the "California Burrito". Fast and friendly- I really enjoyed my meal! A friend and I were in downtown Belleville on a Monday night. Many of the spots we would normally pick were closed, but Casa Maria was open. We were glad we gave it a try! We liked the chips and salsa, which were fresh and flavorful. We also enjoyed our food orders: "puffy tacos" with grilled chicken and fajitas. The walls were painted with bright colors, and we were seated in a cozy booth. By 6:00, there was a crowd at the door, so we were happy we had gotten there early. We come here usually once a year and have a great experience. Tonight was not the case. Food was fabulous and delicious. However the service was horrible! Our waitress did not check on us even one time! She came for our order, then was gone. We asked to do make a couple of changes, ans the answer was a flat out NO. Food is always good but the service is hit and miss, the owners never seem happy and just glare at people. Every busy night they rush you as soon as you're done eating or getting ready to be done. I understand flipping tables to make more money but don't rush your customers out the door and try and give them to go cups for their margaritas to get them to leave. read more

The service was fantastic, very family like and friendly! Now for the food, I got a California burrito and let me tell you this thing IS LOADED. The meat is nicely marinated and the fries are not soggy. Their house salsa compliments it perfectly! My husband had the cinco de mayo tacos and he was full after that, you get to try a little of everything. Their pico de gallo is flavorful and their queso actually has a nice little kick! Our daughter had the children's enchilada (she's 1) and she loved it. I wish I took pictures before we dug in and there was nothing to take a picture of after. Comes with complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was ok. No spice, just puréed tomatoes. I ordered the 3 kings burrito and a carne asada taco. Honestly I thought the taco was ok. It came out kind of cold so the tortilla wasn't all that great and the meat was a little dry. The burrito had 3 meats filled with rice and beans smothered in cheese sauce. I thought the flavor of the meat was good but the rice and beans seemed very qdoba-ish, which is basically what it was...a qdoba burrito but twice the price of it. One of my dearest friends, Tanya, is a resident of a faraway land called Belleville. She has told me so many tall tails of this magical place that she says is a part of Illinois. Confusing names, I know. But one night she goaded me into crossing the river and schlepping to her neck of the woods for a much needed hangout over margaritas. She had mentioned in the past that she adores the owner of a specific restaurant in Belleville and said that we should meet there for dinner. She was pregnant at the time, so I was drinking margaritas for the both of us. Tanya had mentioned that the margaritas from Casa Maria were top notch and very authentic. So much so that she patronizes them nearly once a week. I started off with a cadillac margarita (go big or go home amirite?) and it was so well balanced. The perfect amount of juice and tequila. I also tried a flavored margarita that was just as delicious! Had I not needed to drive back to St. Louis, I would gladly have enjoyed more. The food was fantastically authentic! The menu at Casa Maria is as thick as a menu, making it next to impossible to make a selection because everything sounded so amazing. Tanya mentioned that her husband always ordered the Tres Reyes burrito (and in fact once ordered two.) That was what I went with! It featured Slow roasted pork, carne azada and grilled chicken, cilantro lime rice, and black beans all wrapped in a flour tortilla; topped with cheese and ranchero sauce. Wow were the flavors incredible. I should not have eaten the massive portion, but I could not stop myself. I highly recommend taking a trip to Belleville to sample all the options Casa Maria has to offer. read more

Anyways, Average Mexican restaurant, I would much much prefer to go to fairmont city for some authentic Mexican food! Everything here was pretty much of a disappointment especially the Mexican corn. The corn we received was pretty much sweet corn tossed in oil with a few sprinkles of shredded cheese. There was no Mayo, lime, cotija cheese. Definitely should be Called oily corn. Only good thing here was their tamales! If anything wants good authentic Mexican, going to fairmont city is worth a trip! read more

Took my niece for lunch, her choice. She was craving their Fiesta Fries which we both decided to get. I had the streak and she ordered the carnitas. Their fiesta fries are fantastic! Crispy fries season with cumin and topped with your choice of meats, smothered in Queso cheese and topped with an assortment of toppings. Really delicious! We also had the guacamole which was super smooth, rich and creamy topped with fresh diced tomatoes. It's a rather small portion for $5 but we still ended up taking some home for just the two of eating. Service was pretty good.
