One of my favourite restaurants in Kingston. This place made me fall in love with red curry. Love their red curry with bamboo shoots, the dish is absolutely delicious, with a hint of exotic feeling. All the other dishes I've tried at this place are really good, a level higher than most of the Thai/combodian places I've tried. Royal Angkor Restaurant is a hidden treasure on Princess Street!!! The food is so delicious and spicy!! The service is fast and friendly to the patrons!! We started out with a appetizer Cambodian spring rolls, they were quite delicious. Then we ordered for our main dishes Slam Delight and Panang Shrimp, It was good portion size and wonderfully delicious!! Their prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is quite pleasant!! I ate at this restaurant for 3 years while I was studying at Queens. I was addicted to their tom yum soup, red curry, and green curry. I have never had better Cambodian food anywhere in the GTA. The prices have almost doubled in the last 6 years but the food is well worth it. Preparation takes time since dishes are made from scratch. It takes about 15-20 minutes for a dish to come out. I will wait longer if it means I get my Cambodian fix. read more

Royal Angkor is definitely a gem in the neighbourhood - offering quality Thai food at a very reasonable price. The portions are also sizeable, and the taste is delicious. The variety of food is good. However, I've not had a comparable experience when doing take-out in terms of the food quality. I much prefer the in-restaurant experience. read more

Flavours are great. Fresh ingredients and quality ingredients. I've tried most the dishes that I'd usually have at similar restaurants. Royal Angkor is by far the best version of all of them. The pad Thai must be tried, their soups and so flavourful and harty. The experience is one to make sure to have as you shouldn't be disappointed. Also they are very good at considering allergies and are very accommodating and thorough making sure they verify all ingredients going into the dish. read more

Flavours are fantastic, but we dropped in to order takeout and waited almost 45 minutes. My friend's food was great, but mine was literally tofu, sauce, and rice. No veggies or anything else. Might try again dining in instead, people do seem to like it. read more

Used to be my favourite place in undergrad, still good, but not what it was. The golden chicken and the Penang curry are the classic to dishes. Less attention to detail than there used to be - chicken was dry. read more

Great service, well priced. Unfortunately Pat's and Wok In are just so much better that none of this matters. Not even close in terms of food quality. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. The service was even better. Sam was our server, and it was a busy night, but he was able to handle all his tables with ease and attention. One of our party was vegetarian, and Sam was diligent about checking with the kitchen about went into each dish, to make certain there was no hidden ingredients which would be a problem. Hands down this is the best Thai food I have had so far in Canada! Being an avid Thai food lover and having experienced authentic Thai cuisine in Bangkok, this food was simply too good. How is it that Kingston gets so many Cambodian/Thai restaurants? They are all good. Loved coming here when I was at Queens and then anytime I drove by Kingston I would skip the cluster of fast food joints near the highway and make my way here. The panang chicken if I was in the mood for smooth and fragrant red curry and basil chicken. The golden chicken if I wanted a strong hit of thai/Cambodian curry. I really enjoy the spicy tofu too even though it is hard for me to eat plant matter. There's just something about the tamarind/chili/and roasted rice powder that works so well together. They also have the best spring rolls - firm, filled, crispy deliciousness. read more

Oh my god ! The worst experience ever ! I had take out so I never sat in the place but when I got home (and after eating the pad Thai) I had half the dish left and I found two flies in my pad Thai. I would not recommend unless you need extra protein in the form of an insect. I do not want to know how unkept their kitchen is that they have flies being cooked into their food. read more

Food was okay, service was crap. Girl at the front took our order and proceeded to stare at us. No small chat just give me your money and I'll give you dirty looks. We didn't order anything odd or be rude so we were perplexed at why we were getting death stares. Maybe hire someone friendlier and personable up front. We all have bad days but twice In a row we received bad service. Won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend based on service alone. read more

You cannot go wrong at this place! I go regularly and get either #1 or #11 and start with the spring rolls. Amazing food, served quickly.

Love this place. Hard to find spicy food in this town for people who like spicy food but this place gets it.
