I was already familiar with the health benefits of far infrared, which has become much more commonplace in the past decade, but I didn't know how effective it could be for skin. I purchased both the far infrared torche and E-pulse device (which uses a microcurrent to tone facial muscles) after seeing what these tools did for my skin in just one session. I also wanted to see what these devices could do for my family member, who suffers from perpetual numbness and burning on one side of her face due to a chronic illness. She has reported some relief around her eye area after two days of treatment. I also gifted a skincare/ anti-aging mask set from Oceane to another family member, and we've already noticed improvement after just a couple of weeks. To begin with, if someone tells you a product retails for $1000 but they are offering to sell it to you for $200, then it probably isn't worth $50. I bought an eye cream that the sales associate encouraged me to try. Of course, in order to let him apply it I have to take my eyeglasses off, so the results look good to me... when I got home and looked in the mirror I discovered that what he has sold me is some sort of polyglycerin silicate with concealer in it. It doesn't even blend with my skin tone, and it crackles like old paint. So I intended to return it and tell them that I am not happy with it. What I was not told before I purchased it is that they do not accept returns. It's printed on the receipt, but they put the receipt in an envelope before they give it to you, so unless you take it out of the envelope and look at it you are not aware of the store policy. They have you sign a digital pad to approve the transaction, and it doesn't say anything about the no return policy. I haven't even opened the product. The predatory sales associates are actors who field phoney calls while you're in the store from "clients" who are supposedly SO happy with the products. Don't fall for it. They haven't even spelled the address correctly on their business cards. You're better off going to CVS and buying Revlon. At least then if you don't like it you haven't spent much more than $10.

I got a Livingsocial deal for a facial at American Skin Care. I was nervous after reading reviews on here regarding the staff's hard-selling and pushing of "additional services" on customers. In my opinion, if you can't afford to offer a discounted product and eat the difference, don't offer the discount! Offering a discount then forcing add-ons on your customers (that rightly should have been included) to make your money back is wrong. And that's exactly what they did. Nanci, my esthetician, was very nice. We had a good chat during my facial. But during the treatment, she told me I needed to buy an "exfoliating treatment" for an additional $25, whereas, I've never heard of a facial that didn't include exfoliation. I bought it, 'cause I thought the facial would be useless without it, but when she tried to sell me some "ampule hydrating" treatment to go under my mask for another $15, I refused. I'd already paid $22 for the LivingSocial deal, so I didn't actually end up with a discounted treatment, in the end. The masks, as others mentioned, are very Hannibal-Lecter-inspired, and I cracked up while the first one was on my face (to warm my skin before extraction). The extractions were rough, and she used great force on my nose, though a previous esthetician specifically told me not to due so due to burst blood vessels in that area (those bright red veinies on your nostrils). So I'm concerned she did some damage there. My chin and nose were violently-itchy post-extraction, and I let her know I didn't want any more add-on products for fear of how my sensitive skin might react. I did really enjoy the facial massage and upper chest massage, in fact, I would've paid for that alone and skipped the rest. The room was really comfy, and looked clean, and the facility was nice. Nanci made sure I had some water and got to use the restroom before she began, which I appreciated! Then, post-treatment, another hard sell. How about some products to take home for a couple hundred dollars? How about a facial package for a couple hundred more? I've posted a photo of the recommendations I was given, and their price tag. All in all, this would've been SO much better if they didn't seem so desperate for business, and weren't constantly distracting me with a sales pitch. No thanks!

I absolutely…read moreloved this store, wished I would have started my shopping here first, they have so many unique items in their store that I did not see elsewhere, I would have bought more, but I only have a few pounds left in my luggage. I still can't stop thinking about the Raven candle holder though and know I will regret not getting it. Sadly I did not get the names of the employees who helped me today, it was a young man and a young lady, both had great energy, answered all my questions about their herbs (did get some of those) overall we just had a wonderful conversation, it was my best shopping experience on my trip...I specifically wanted to get a cauldron from this store because I knew I wouldn't forget the name of the store I got it from and I'm happy to say I found the perfect cauldron!

And Nick Dickinson is one of the witchiest of witches. And available for readings at The Cauldron Black. I have gone to many different readers, and of course everyone has their different styles, but Nick is my "go to" for divination when I need to cut the crap and hear what the cards have to say. This person has a really impressive background and deep relationship with the tarot and is a talented, masterful reader. My divinations with Nick have been spectacular- on point, clear, WILDLY accurate. You truly do not need to say a lot or give tons of context for your question - he does not seem to want a lot of exposition- so maybe go in knowing what question you want to ask and just let him do his thing. You can book online at The Cauldron Black's website (for VERY reasonable prices btw, especially considering the depth of knowledge and history they have as a reader, wow). He calls on time, no chitchat, keeps it super professional, neutral and boundaried. I am usually offered a choice of decks and he sends a photo of the spread so you can follow along. Kindof a sidebar, but if you have never considered a phone reading as an option: I have found that I really enjoy and appreciate (and honestly might actually prefer) getting a reading over the phone - I can be in my own space, sit at my altar etc. For me, I can be a little more distracted or ungrounded when I'm in public - when I get a phone reading I can just drop in and afterwards do some journaling and thinking and be quiet if I need to... and just kindof digest the divination, which I think helps me to integrate it. If you are looking for a talented, insightful, HIGHLY experienced reader I could not recommend Nick Dickinson more wholeheartedly.
