I've been a regular customer at Desi Bites, but the customer service at the grocery checkout has become unacceptable. One of the cashiers consistently behaves in a rude and careless manner. She throws items while bagging, speaks disrespectfully, and shows no interest in helping customers. This is not the kind of attitude anyone expects from someone in a customer-facing role. Because of her behavior, many people I know have already stopped visiting Desi Bites. It's disappointing to see a good store lose customers due to one person's unprofessional conduct. I sincerely hope the management takes this seriously and assigns someone more responsible and courteous to the checkout counter. Desi Bites can do much better, and customers deserve better. read more

We were visiting from out of state and were looking for some quick bites when we came across this place and I kid you not when I tell you we came back about 4-5 times again because of the yummy food . We must have tried atleast a good 10-12 things from the menu and everything was absolutely delish . They seriously have everythg from starters to desserts . Things we tried and totally recommend are : Irani chai , the samosas , chicken 65 , ginger chicken , pani puri , Dani puri . Some of my favorite biryanis were- gongura chicken biryani - DB chicken biryani . Last but not least was the Haleem - so authentic and yumm .. I had done a review back a while ago, and I was not as pleased and the rating of the wall was lower as well. It was dirtier back then but going today. I was very pleased. The rating on the wall was higher. The place felt clean and looked clean. The service was good. The food was good and we were very pleased with everything. Their food runs a little spicier so that is something that you need to be aware of and make sure you order mild if you prefer less spice. But be aware even that is a little spicy. We are very glad we tried it again and it's a good place to eat. read more

Absolutely delicious food casual restaurant, but excellent food, quality, and quantity

What a horrible disappointment. My wife and I love Indian food, and when we noticed Desi Bites had opened and had many dishes we've never had, we were excited to try it. Due to health issues, my wife has to stick to mild dishes, though once upon a time she enjoyed dishes "Indian spicy". I usually like my spice level at a 5-6. Because of her limitations, we specifically chose dishes that did not say were spicy, and where given a choice chose mild. We selected two puris, Methi Paneer, Afghan Chicken kebabs, butter and garlic naan and my wife's favorite dessert, gulab jamun. The two mains were listed as being served with rice pilaf. All in all we spent $95. Literally every dish beside the paneer was inedibly spicy, and the one edible dish was completely bland. The naan were flat and rubbery and also lacking flavor. And the gulab jamun was so bad she spat it out immediately. And for two entrees we were given a small 5" x 5" container of rice. So for our $95 we were able to eat a few bites of bread and bland methi paneer. To say this was a disappointment is an understatement. Please, save your money and drive a little further to Curry Gate. The food there is infinitely better. read more

I've tried a few Indian places around town, and this one has quickly become my favorite! it's authentic Indian food, but very approachable for anyone unfamiliar with Indian food. The spice levels are customizable, and mild truly is mild, spicy is pretty dang spicy. I was very happy with my medium spice being just right for me. The staff is friendly and able to answer any questions one might have. I came here tonight with several friends, some of them have never eaten any Indian food before at all. It was great to see them light up and enjoy this new kind of food for the first time and give so many compliments to the staff. It's a cool place too! Very clean and modern looking. This place is great to have on the south side of charlotte/matthews area. They have lots to choose from dosa to byriani to vegetables and chicken dishes. It's reasonably priced. The icing on the cake is that it also has an Indian grocery store inside. read more

Amazing butter chicken and Tika masala. Made fresh, so it does take a minute, like at a restaurant. Been her twice and consistently delicious. The ordering ahead on the app made it go quicker if you're on a rush. read more

Food was just ok. The $10 curry special was meh. It was worth about $8. Dosa was the best of all, not great but ok. No reason to return.
