The suggestion was try Grainger because I knew they carried such an item and actually had bought two from them in the past year. Got there on Friday and called to confirm they had stock, which they did so we drove over and picked one up. Good price and while there were other places we could have picked up one cheaper, it's not worth it. Excellent quality that lasts and a great replacement policy if it dies. In the long run, this is the best hassle free, and most economical alternative. Strongly recommend

We recently had our back deck rebuilt. Home Depot had everything our installer requested with competitive pricing (compared with Lowe's and Metro Building). Our first large lumber order was placed online and delivered directly to our driveway for $79 + $30 so we could specify the delivery window. Our installer didn't give much notice when he was ready for the deck, railing and balusters. The lumber crew was so helpful, offering to cart the 2x10x16s and 2x4x16s I needed before 7am and help load them into my Expedition EL. For the 66 deck pieces and balusters, I was able to order online for my installer to pick up without issue. Once the deck was complete, we returned the few extra items with ease. We love this Home Depot and appreciate their continued excellence.

The "hardwood" which ended up just being laminate just wore away in over 100 spots. The photos show just a fraction. The inspector told us we should be able to scrub with a green scouring pad. First off, their website is terrible. It is impossible to navigate. Most of the links redirect back…read moreto the top of the page. This is probably the only site left on the internet not using HTTPS. They do list catalogs for each of their vendors. But as an customer service rep told me, they don't carry everything their vendors sell. If you are looking for a specific type of product (say sheet goods) you have to search each vendor's catalog. After talking with a rep on the phone, I was even less impressed with the company. Each location carries different stock, so the company doesn't provide a physical catalog or a PDF (so you are stuck combing through things on their website). So for each item that you want, you have to call and ask if it is available, and if not come up with another option. I was also surprised at how little they did carry. I was looking for OSB and was told that the Atlanta warehouse didn't stock OSB, in any size. I was also told that I would be charged retail price unless I setup an account, which requires filling out an application. Why make people jump through these hoops? There are so many other lumber delivery options in the city I can't understand how this place is still in business.
