I went in the other day to get a product.There was an older white male that was eager to help me. For whatever reason, he would not allow me to touch the product. He showed me where it was and wanted to hurry back to the front with it in his hand without letting me even look at it. I stopped him saying I needed to compare the product to what I had to make sure it was the right one. There were multiple options and no differentiating description on the front. You also couldn't see it fully without opening it up so I was trying to make sure I had the right one. I did not want to come back or have to go somewhere to replace it. He kept rushing me and when I went to take the product to look at it, he held onto it until I had to pull it out of his hand. He literally pressed his fingers together gripping it. It was very clear he did not want me touching any of the product in the store. I guess he thought I was going to grab it, stuff it down my leggings, rush past him and out the store. It was $7. I had no purse and had my wallet and keys were in my hand so I have no idea where his imagination was going. After I looked at, I was decided to try it so turned to talk to the front check out and he grabbed it out of my hands to walk it to the front. I typically shop here because the Lowes is far but I'll take my business elsewhere. I wouldn't want to frighten the old white men with my presence. Fox News must have told him every POC wants what they have and will steal it right in front of them in broad daylight. In reality, I would rather not speak or deal with you either. read more

I needed a bag of QuickCrete for a project. I usually go to Home Depot off Barrett Pkwy or the one off Shallowford and Sandy Plains. I live between both, but I'm closer to Ace Hardware next to the Tag Office. I like to support smaller businesses so I went to Ace. For a 60 lb bag, they charged me 9.00 and change with tax it came to 10.17 . Today I purchased the same 60 lb bag at Home Depot for 4.34! Same exact, except without the extra 5.00 !! ACE isn't being competitive with the bigger box stores. I won't use their business going forward.! read more

I came in one week ago to have a gentleman program my truck for a key and fob. He took about 20 min to complete. The fob never opened the driver's door, I called them, he said he would guarantee it. I also was ordering a second in which he did order and stated to come back on Friday 5/13, called and stated he could not get to it and come on Saturday. I came in Saturday at 12:07 he was in a bad mood when I tried to show him the issue he refused to listen (poor customer service, always hear your customer out). When we were at the vehicle, and I tried to show him the display he got mad and walked off. No refund or explanation. I will no longer do business with Walls Hardware Marietta Ga. read more

Went in to have a simple car key made, took 3 employees to figure it out. Also wanted to purchase an item, eventually the employee found it in the store, it was pretty expensive and the employee said "you might want to get this somewhere else". So i did. There were several young people working there that seemed to have to clue what they were doing. They seemed overwhelmed when more than 3 customers were in the store. Possibly they were family members who needed summer jobs. read more

This is my regular go-to store for when I don't want to make the trek to Lowes. I was a little surprised when I saw the other less than stellar reviews but as I read through them I realized I don't have the experience of actually bringing something to the store to be repaired. That being said, my review is based on my shopping experience at this location - and it's been wonderful. The store is staffed with friendly, helpful faces who aren't pushy and whom you can often find engaged in conversations with their customers. Their prices are comparable to the big name stores and their selection of tools and materials for basically any home project was surprising. I'll skip having to walk from one end of Lowes to the other to get that one itty bitty item I forgot any day in favor of walking in and out at Ace. I've bought soil, seeds, garden decor, garden tools, drill bits, window screens, gutter guards and plants and baskets here. I usually go on the weekend and having been to other locations in the area, this one is my favorite simply because of the service I get here. read more

If there was ANYWHERE else closer to buy Benjamin Moore paint, I would avoid this location like the plague. Every time my wife and I come we are made to feel like we are a pest for asking a store that sells paint to sell us paint. They are always understaffed, and carry themselves like it's a drudge to be at work. Let's use today as an example. We walk in and we're asked what we're in for. We say "just need to get a gallon of paint." We're told, "Oh well only she can do that so you'll have to wait," while he points at the register. Maybe 5 minutes later, Sherri comes over huffing and puffing and asks what we want. Again, "just one gallon of paint." "Ugh, okay, I guess that's not too hard." Then, as she pokes at the computer, she tells us how understaffed they are, and how the guy she's working with doesn't know how to mix paint or run the cash register. Then she picks up a cigarette off the counter and goes, "ew, gross, I know exactly who's this is cause only one guy smokes," then walks away with it pinched in her fingers like she's carry a dead mouse. My wife and I continue to just stand there, baffled at the situation. Finally she's done, we pay and leave. I'm not exaggerating when I say every time we come in, we are made to feel like we have inconvenience the entire store for needing paint -- AND THEY SELL PAINT. They're a Benjamin Moore dealer! Whoever owns this place, for the love of god, hire some people, and tell your staff to not make the customers feel guilty for buying from you. After today, you've finally lost a customer. We'll be driving to the Woodstock Ace for any further paint needs. read more

Had to go back FOUR TIMES to get the keys made correctly. Driving back and forth each time got more and more frustrating.

I came in last Saturday looking for a manure fork. The gentleman helping was nice enough and walked me to a wall of garden tools. He picked out a large $51.00 fork that he said would work. Having broken several plastic forks I thought I would give it a try. I told him I work for a non-profit Equine Therapy Center. He even helped me with getting a tax exempt form. I took my heavy duty "manure fork " to the barn to give it a try. The tongs are way too wide. Didn't work at all. I washed the fork very well to return it. I have my receipt and brought it back just now only to be told that they don't give refunds on tools. I wish he would have pointed that out to me before I took him at his word that the fork was what I needed. What the fork?!!! It doesn't pick up sh*%! Now I'm out $51.00! So beware when you shop here. It does say on the counter that you must have a receipt for a refund. Less obvious in all the other jargon in a lengthy paragraph it that they don't return tools. read more

I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I was looking for a carpet cleaner to rent and had no idea really what I needed or how to use it. The gentleman helping me explained how to use the machine and also offered to take it to my car for. I told him I may not have it back at the 24 hour rental mark because if church and he politely said just have it back before close. I'll definitely be going here from now!! read more

Came here with my father in law looking for some screws. Had no stock of size we needed. There was a pack of screws sitting on a shelf that had no seal whatsoever so I opened it to see if they would happen to work. An employee named Ken walked up and snatched them out my hand and started walking away while saying some pretty nasty stuff. Absolutely could not believe someone in retail would do that to a customer. I came to Ace over Home Depot because I want to support the small hardware store experience and give them my business. A Real Hardware Store!! Every time I design, build or make something, it seems I need just a few things I don't have. When I go to the mega stores, it seems the mega stores only stock what everybody wants, or what nobody wants, and the quality is, not what I grew up knowing. When I walk into an Ace Hardware, especially this one, it's immediately clear that you're dealing with somebody who knows hardware, and cares about that store making it!! They always are considerate of your time, and what you want to do. You always get your personal hardware ambassador, if you want one! Ace Hardware on Canton Road in Marietta, is a super friendly, super helpful hardware store. Sure, it's not a Home Depot, but it still has importance. I can walk in, receive a request for help, and as I walk the aisles, an employee is easy to find. In the big box store, there are frustrations when I cannot locate anybody. Recently I acquired a very old but great working pressure-cooker after several great meals it locked up, the seal inside and was unable to open it. By chance about a month later, I stopped in and was told by a very friendly and helpful gentlemen, "That happens on occasionally, bring it in and I will open it for you,, We also carry any replacement parts you may need" . He determined the inside seal had lock up. The following week I returned with my son and the now stinky pot, I was greeted with a look of shock and disbelief by several females. I was told no one there knew how to open those things. After some research they suggested, it could have been and employee who was not working that day and to check back with them. Today I called and was rudely told no one there had talked to me or told me they could not help me, while I trying to ask if they even carried the parts, the woman who answered the phone just kept interrupting me saying "We can not help you here!! We can not help you here!!" and then hung up the phone on me. This is never been my experience with any other Ace Hardware (even from that store where I had shopped many times never seeing these new faces) or nearby and I will not be sorry to see their customer service skill sink to such levels. Don't take anything there to be repaired. Last year I took my weed eater there for a tune up and they told me that it could not be fixed. After paying the service fee I took it home and had a friend of mine fix it. Thinking that this was anomaly, I took my leaf blower there this spring for the same thing. A few days later I get a call saying it was ready. When I arrive to pick it up they tell me it's at another store and they'll have it within a couple of hours. When I return about 4 hours later they tell me it's not there and will be there the next day. Two days later I finally get it. I took it home and used it twice and now it's running worse than ever. As I said earlier, don't take anything there to be repaired. They won't fix it and they'll charge you for the experience. read more
