I had such a great experience here that I had to leave a review. From the moment I walked in, the…read moreatmosphere was calm, clean, and super welcoming. The staff made check-in easy and I felt relaxed right away. I booked a Thai massage with Kate, and she was absolutely incredible. She really knows what she's doing--perfect balance of deep pressure and stretching, and she paid attention to exactly where I was holding tension. I walked in feeling tight and stressed, and walked out feeling completely refreshed and loose. Kate was also very professional and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. You can tell she genuinely cares about her clients and takes pride in her work. If you're looking for a place that delivers both relaxation and real results, this is it. I'll definitely be coming back and asking for Kate again. Highly recommend!

I've been needing a massage and after reading all the great reviews I called and was able to…read moreschedule a same day appointment. I usually get a deep tissue massage and didn't know what a Thai massage so had to look it up. The internet indicated you remain fully dressed so I inquired about what clothing to wear, and was told that you actually get undressed. I was greeted upon arrival. After signing the forms they provided a pair of slippers to change into, and led me to a room. I requested the Thai combo massage, which incorporates Thai and deep tissue massage. The masseuse asked what pressure I wanted, and I requested hard pressure. I also mentioned my shoulders were extra tense. At times it felt like the masseuse was building up the pressure because in the beginning I didn't feel the pressure much and then I would feel more pressure. Some of the stretching positions felt a little odd, definitely need some getting used to. At the one hour mark, I extended the session to 90 minutes and mentioned to do more work on my back since my shoulders were still tense. Overall it was a good experience. I did feel some relief but I had hoped she focused more on my shoulders since I did mention that it was tense. I think for my tense shoulders I may need to stick with deep tissue massage since I feel that does tend to loosen up the muscles more. Parking is in the back, the entrance is there as well.

Hey! There I was at the YMCA and I ran into Sunny, one of my favorite massage therapists. My…read moregirlfriend and I had massages from Sunny many times. I had not seen here in a couple of years after she stop working at a massage place that we used to go to. It seems Sunny has opened her own spa. She gave me her card, I called the same day, and had a massage. It was really excellent. She uses Chinese techniques which I prefer over the typical American massage. Th room was quiet and very comfortable, Sunny has an excellent massage table. Sunny is a very sweet woman, I totally recommend you give her a try. Call ahead as she says she's been pretty busy.

I had a long travel day from San Francisco to Ventura by way of Burbank for a monthly business…read moretrip. I was beat, tired muscles and had knots in my lower back and thought I'll check into my hotel then check out Yelp for a local massage. Sunflower Spa had good reviews so I gave a call and booked an hour. Sunny greeted me into her lovely reception area -- decorated with art work and sunflower and tiger collectables everywhere -- this you have to see! There is a hot shower and two rooms. One smaller room with the ceiling poles for back walking and the main massage room which was warm and handsomely decorated with paintings and spiritual artwork. It felt cozy and private. Soft Asian instrumental music was playing. I asked for "strong" and pointed to two areas in my lower back when she started. Occasionally, Sunny would ask if the pressure was okay and if I was okay -- it was perfect! Sunny has a friendly, calming, happy spirit with excellent therapeutic skills. She found a knot near my left shoulder blade and gave it attention. No pain, no gain. It's all worth it in the end! I enjoyed the hot towel afterwards too. She gently brushed it on my back, her way of telling me that she's about to put a hot towel, and then placed it on. I loved how she used the hot heat from the towel to massage my neck and shoulders! Then, she continued to wipe/massage the oil/lotion off. After the massage was over, I got dressed and came back to the decorative reception area. There she gave me a cool water drink to rehydrate. She offered green tea too. I felt so relaxed, my knots were gone and glad I had found a good, honest massage experience in Ventura. The deep tissue work was exactly what I needed. Sunny's generous and professional work on my back and neck deserved my generous tip. I left feeling super relaxed and at ease -- and slept the night through. Next day, I continued to feel the benefit of her work. Can't wait to go back and intend to make this a regular monthly visit. Chances are, when in Ventura, you'll fall in love with Sunny at Sunflower Spa and see it for the true gem it is! Jon Newman

Very disappointed…read more When I called and asked for rates, the woman told me $50 for an hour. The first thing that I noticed when entering the building is that the entire place needs a deep cleaning from the bathroom that had a poor excuse for watered down soap. What are they washing their hands with? Right before she started the massage, I had a weird feeling and again asked the rate. She said $60 an hour and I told her that they told me $50 on the phone, she denied it and I said whatever, OK. The room was not clean the table was dingy and needs to be replaced. I wanted to leave in the first 45 minutes but decided to stay since my girlfriend was already in the other room getting her massage. Even though I asked for a hard massage when the woman asked, she could only give me light pressure, I kept asking for more pressure and she said Ok, but there was no change. She kept leaving the room to greet new customers, turning doorknobs and answering calls, without washing her hands. With all the ins and outs and calls, in the end, she ended up giving me about a 35 minute massage and stopped at the 50 minute mark and tried to charge me for an hour. The other woman who massaged my girlfriend went to ring us up and tried to auto add tips, I told her that I wasn't paying for a full hour when my massage was under 45 minutes. After 5 minutes of uncomfortable back and forth I ended up paying $50 and tipping $10 and leaving feeling more stressed than when I came. Avoid this place at all costs.

This massage store is in a small stand alone building with very limited parking, but there was parking both times I did go. When I walked in I was greeted by a smiling, happy Chinese lady. The facility seemed clean and tidy. The cheerful lady gave me a good massage, helping to work out some knots in my back and shoulders. I was happy with the massage to a point. I ALWAYS check the time when they start and expect that the hour is 60 minutes. At about 45 to 48 minutes two customers arrived, and the other lady working here started a loud conversation in Mandarin. Well, I could already see the way this was going. At 53 minutes the therapist told me OK after the annoying slapping that so many of these massage ladies do. Now here is where I guess I was a dick, but I called her on the seven minutes and started talking about my hour should be 60 minutes. Bla Bla Bla, she tells me about the other customer. I don't give a shit because I was there first and paid for the hour. She wanted to argue and I did not leave. If she is going to beat me out of seven minutes then I will occupy the room . At some point the other customer leaves, she is not smiling or happy now. She did return me $10, I took that and a five and tipped her. Second time I went here she seemed irritated, (I wonder why?). She did charge me $50 for this massage as well. And she showed me the time on her phone before the massage started and after. It was an hour. I am not sure if she is irritated or if she is like that. But I do know she gives a good massage and it is just down the street from my hotel. No funny business here just legitimate therapeutic massage.
