The service was awesome it was a little bit of a wait but well worth it. Product was fresh and establishment very clean.

Don't miss this stop on your road trip! The donuts are great, the coffee is hot and strong and the ladies who work there are absolutely lovely. Whatever flavor you choose you can't go wrong. They are open early every day of the week and they have a drive through if you are still in your pajamas:)

This landmark has been in business for over 40 years, serving donuts, donut cakes and coffee. I was very pleased to find a donut shop that's loved by the locals. The blueberry donut cakes and chocolate eclair are local favorites. I took a big bit of the blueberry cake tasted like a blueberry muffin in donut form. It's a brilliant idea because it was just the right amount of sweetness and didn't feel and tasted greasy like most donuts. The racks were full and donuts were neatly arranged. Clean and staff are friendly and helpful. The are open until 10PM.

The Royal Donut is a classic, a staple of my childhood on the way to school, on the way home from church, a saturday morning, a weekday in the summer. I used to run across the street as a kid from my dads workshop when they still had a location on north & hazel. I'd order a half dozen donut holes & a chocolate milk and sit at one of the little canopy tables. The windows were all glass and my dad could see me sitting in there the whole time, we were such regulars the workers and regulars knew me too. The shop was a welcome relief in the summer, baking in the summer heat i'd walk in the shop with its little bell and suddenly my sun drenched skin was covered in a cool blanket while I enjoyed my little treat. After that location closed we frequented the fairchild & vermillion location via the drive through. Always friendly, always fresh donuts. This place is nostalgia and sugary goodness to the core.

A DANVILLE classic. No one comes to visit without a visit. Still better than national chains I my opinion.

I'm pretty sure these donuts are bad for you but they taste AMAZING. Just the simplest cake donuts here are worth driving a long way for!

Some of the best donuts around. They are a little pricey; but the iced sugar cookies and eclairs are worth the price.

What's especially surprising is finding a place this amazing in the back alley of smalltown Danville Illinois. The quality and craftsmanship is more typical of Austin, Portland or NYC with Midwest pricing. In fact Tyler far spent time honing his craft and secret recipes far and wide before returning to set up his own shop. Open Tuesday-Saturday for coffee and more the 7-7 Friday and Saturday. As we were visiting on a Saturday to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday, she introduced us to Tyler and his magic. We stopped in late morning and enjoyed espresso, a lavender infused lemonade and picturesque hot chocolate. But I was also eyeing the cocktails on the 5-page menu so we swung back around at about 6:30 pm where I enjoyed an amazing whisky sour and my wife had a refreshing "pain killer". While he doesn't really serve food, he does offer small cheese plated for the a very great price. Absolutely not to be missed but expect cozy quarters the place holds maybe a dozen or so. Also check out the "secret menu" posted on the back of the framed picture on the left as you enter.
