We have done dozens of escape rooms over the years and this one was a unanimous "bottom three" from my family of four. It seems like there was only one employee, so we stood at the front for five minutes before seeing anyone and when we completed the room, again just stood there in the hall for a good 5 minutes before seeing the one employee. The game itself was uninteresting. I wont ruin it, but definitely not a $35 per person experience. Genuinely a boring game with some things that did not work as advertised. If I could rate this 0 stars I would. I reserved a room over a week before my vacation and then had to move it last minute. I received a confirmation email and once my family and I showed up for our time, they said the room was booked. We then booked a later room and when we showed up (after enduring the nasty and run down arcade next door for an hour) we showed up for our next time and they had also booked that time. They said they would refund our money, but honestly I'm not hopeful. Do not waste your time here. read more

Things weren't working right. We would get a clue correct, and then the correlating response wouldn't happen. Sometimes it was just delayed a little bit, but one important action didn't trigger the response at all and caused us to lose the game. The employee was also very dismissive about the situation, which definitely didn't impress me. For reference, we were playing The Forbidden Tomb. We will go elsewhere next time. read more

Terrible! We paid $140 for the Magic School Room. An employee blandly greeted us 5 minutes after we arrived, led us in the tiny room and told us we would have no clues for first 15 minutes. We asked for clues about 15 minutes in and were given several hints, but ultimately were told how to exit the room with 24 minutes to go and before we'd solved half the puzzles in the room. When the door opened, we let ourselves out of the building...no one there to take our photo or even say goodbye. Totally underwhelming for the price and disappointing for my kids. Probably one of the worst escape rooms we have ever been to you have to wave your hand and yell and scream and wait 15 minutes for clues. Nobody will respond to you half of the items in the room are broken They actually came into our room and stopped the clock and gave us 10 more minutes because the props would not work like they were supposed to, One involved an air compressor to use air to go to the next level. Definitely very fun! My bf and I (2 ppl) did The Terminal and it was super cool! We were able to get hints.. seemed like as many as we wanted, we used around 4 maybe. The room is a little scary at first and I made him open things, but you get more comfortable. It was pretty tricky but we finished in with 5 and a half Minutes left. My family did the wizarding school room. First off, it is dark and if you don't have a flashlight, you won't find certain things. Room had broken items that we thought might be needed but at the end we realized they were just broken pieces. We had clues randomly given to us throughout the process maybe because we weren't making enough progress. Maybe it was just us but the puzzles were extremely difficult. This is easily the worst escape room I have ever been to. The props half of them are completely useless. The hints are annoying and necessary. Hints should not be necessary. The way to get out is absolutely annoying and it gives you a code. I do not know if it is like this for all of the rooms but the Forbidden Tomb sucked. If you are going to go to an escape room in panama city I highly recommend the Escape Manor all of there rooms are really good and is five dollars cheaper. The Asylum at the Escape Manor was the best escape room I have ever been to. Please do me a favor and never attend this escape room and go to Escape Manor. While on vacation my 13 year old daughter begged to go to an escape room and of course she chose the most challenging one they had! She chose the zombie one and my 11 year old was too scared to do it. John, the employee working eased her mind and talked her into playing. He wasn't in a rush and took his time to show her the only scary things in the room! He was a kind soul who took time he didn't have to to comfort her in her fears! She ended up being a huge part of the play and catching things that even us adults didn't catch! John sent a note to her in the middle of the play about how proud he was of her for concurring her fears. While this might not sound like a big deal it made her feel more at ease. We didn't escape the room but had a fantastic time! I would highly recommend this location! read more

First off, I'm going to make it clear, I have managed an escape room in the past and played over 25 escape games. This is by far the worst escape room I have ever played. My girlfriend and I played The Mermaid's Escape and were just overall let down by many things. Pre-Game: First off, when we walked in, there was no one waiting at the desk for us and we had to wait for an employee to come up to the front to greet us. Starting from here was no waiver to sign, as there are with every single other escape game I have played/managed. There was no introduction or warm greeting asking about our past experiences with escape rooms or if we had any questions about the game. We were simply walked into the room and told we could only ask questions after 15 minutes. The door was then closed and a video explaining the theme of the room started. (Note: there are no emergency escape buttons, as are common in every other room I have played/managed, that will let you out of the locked doors in case of an emergency) During the Game: The room itself was a little bit challenging, I will admit, however I feel it was only challenging due to many red herrings in the room. Anyone that is big into escape games will tell you that a room with red herrings is a room to avoid. From many things, such as codes, numbers, and arrows pointing places, so many things would lead you to believe they are important to the game but they are not to do with anything. There were a few things in the room that were broken as well. There was an eye hook that was crucial to the game to move forward that was broken off the wall and required us to hold something in place instead of playing it like intended and a rope in the room (that actually held up a flag that could be moved and lowered that ended up being a red herring) broke when I pulled it. These things, along with eye hooks that we got out of a hole that supposedly unlocked something without any indication that was what it was supposed to do, added to the many things in this room that were either broken or had no clear point of being in the room. The Game Controller: Whoever was running our game clearly wasn't listening. We waited over 5 minutes for our first hint after asking about 10 times and signaling to the cameras. Their hints, when given, barely helped at all and were sassy at some points as they wrote them in all caps as if we were dumb to not know that lifting an eye hook out of a box would unlock something we already tried opening. She also, when we left, did not offer to take our picture like every other game I've done does, did not thank us, and didn't even signal that we could leave. She just stood there and asked what the hardest part was. We escaped with 14 minutes left, but had we had proper clues and no red herrings, it would've taken 30 minutes at most. This place needs a re-haul of its games and better training for their employees. Every other employee of an escape game I've met or worked with is super enthusiastic and clearly LOVES escape games. This girl was simply here working a job she must not love. read more

First the pros: Great themes. Love the rooms. The woman at the desk was wearing a mask. I saw a previous post where they weren't but last week was the first week Bay county mandated them for people in the service industry and it wasn't until July 27th that it was expanded to everyone so I wouldn't hold that against them. Booking was simple. Prices on par with other escape rooms we've done. The Cons: They turned the room over very quickly and there were no signs anything was cleaned between guests despite us being told they were. My biggest complaint is with who ever was monitoring our game. We played 2 rooms in one day. Each room allows 3 hints. During the first game we were given hints to things we'd already completed which was frustrating but what totally pissed me off was during the 2nd game we had only used one hint with 10 minutes to go we asked for our second hint. We asked easily 15 times and no one ever responded. When I said something when the time ran out the woman's reply was oh sorry it happens. For almost $130 for 4 of us to play the person running the game can at least stay awake and do their job. read more

Really disappointing experience. The production quality was lower than most escape rooms, but I was more than willing to look past that for some good puzzles. We did the mermaid room due to lack of availability on the other rooms. The puzzles started out normal enough, but red herrings abounded. We very clearly asked for hints when stuck on specific puzzles, and the hints returned (sometimes after asking many many times) were for entirely different puzzles that we already had the right track on. This would have been more forgivable if the central and most time-consuming puzzle in the entire room hadn't turned out to be a massive red herring and trigger nothing. We wasted 30 minutes of time on that nothing route and left in foul moods. (Which it seems was expected, since no employee was at the room exit or lobby as we left) Stick with better companies if you're looking for a quality room. read more

Staff was rude- barely communicative. They messed up my scheduled appointment, and I was unable to play after driving to the place. Update: Company didn't have a reservation under my name as it was under my husband's name. Company states they cannot mess up a scheduled appointment; however, I had clearly stated I wanted the zombie room and was put down for the pirate room. The person on the phone obviously couldn't have cared less about the appointment as they were distracted and unresponsive. They messed up my appointment. Someone was in the zombie room during my scheduled time, and I had already done the pirate room elsewhere so repeating the room would have been a waste of my money. Update two: Company responds saying I had no experience at their business. I did have an experience-one that was in their lobby and clearly a negative experience. I appreciate the offer of a free zombie room trial-but after being called a liar and having my negative experience downplayed, I'd prefer not to visit this establishment ever again. read more

First off I wanna say I'm obsessed with escape rooms. It's like a huge adrenaline rush when you figure out everything and you're able to get out before the time runs out. I have been to countless escape rooms, some in Kentucky and some in Texas and others here in Florida and this escape room is by far the best one I've been to yet. The rooms werent just a bunch of boring locks, they were puzzles and Brain teasers. These rooms were thoughtfully put together and They pose a very good challenge for anyone who loves escape rooms. The staff was amazing and very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place over every other escape room in Panama City. By the way, The zombie room is the best! read more

I did the room The Terminal and it was very good! But then I did The Morgue and I didn't like it as much. I did the room with one other person and we got out with 16 minutes left, and it wasn't because we're amazing at escape rooms. We did the Relic and Terminal and staff is so helpful to make things as enjoyable as possible. I have been to a lot of escape rooms and so far this company ranks top in my books. Our rating is for our host John. He was great! Very nice and calm and he really tried to help us out. We did the zombie room and the effects were very realistic. It was genuinely scary at first. My husband and I have done many escape rooms and this was our first failure. It was very difficult and some of the clues were red herrings and a little worn down so you had to try a few times to get them to work. Overall it was a challenging experience. I would suggest that a group bigger than two people do the zombie room. We would have been better off with more help. Also the room is VERY dark, so be prepared for that. read more

Excellent puzzles, ran by owner. A lot of work was put into the immersiveness, and the puzzles are part of that. While there are keys and combination locks, the room is far more. Good plot, some good effects, and im not saying what a twist in the room is, but Le Girlfriend went "EEEP!" and proceeded to hide behind me. I would definitely do this one again. I have also heard some one star reviews that say "bad customer service, some bad puzzles". I disagree with these. The owner was pleasant and friendly, and willing to accommodate us. read more

The pros... the theming was cool. The cons... everything else. While we were being let into our room, someone else in another room had the door open and was yelling down the hall that they needed a clue. I thought that was odd, but later found out it was because they were not very responsive in giving clues when we asked for them. We pretty much gave up on asking for them. It seemed as if there was a person running our game about half of the time. Once our game was over and left our room, we never saw another employee. No one to ask how our experience was or ask if we had any questions about them game. Also, some of the clues were just a waste of time and they didn't make any sense. They were unnecessary to find what we were looking for what we needed to accomplish. Based on the reviews, we had high hopes for this place. There are about three other escape room companies in PCB/PC and we liked each of those places better than this one! We were really disappointed because we love escape rooms so much! read more

We did the Mermaid Escape room and the room was really cool and had a nice atmosphere, although we are almost positive that we did not have anyone watching us and took forever to help us when we asked. There was a lock that we didn't understand how to open and asked multiple times how to but wasn't able to open it until the last 10 minutes, which led us to not escape. Plus, when our room ended we had to walk ourselves out and our person was resetting another room with two other people. I have never had any experience like this and have also never not escaped the room, so we were thoroughly disappointed to have wasted our money and time. read more

Me, my husband, and my brothers had a great time here! Deff an experience! Staff was super friendly and informative!! Had so much fun trying to find clues to escape in time! I had my 5 month old baby with me and was easily able to fit her stroller/car seat in the room even make her a bottle with minutes to spare and we still got out in time! I'm so so happy to have experienced something this fun that is this baby friend as well! As a new mom this was nice to have fun and still have space for baby! read more

We booked and paid online for the escape room/axe throwing combo. We showed up 30 minutes before our appointment so they had us so the axe throwing first. They told us what time to be back and again we arrived 30 minutes early. After another 30 minutes of waiting they told us that the group before us arrived late so we would have to wait over an hour. We did not have time to wait so we asked for our money back. They only offered us $15 back after paying $50 with taxes. They said we got a discount for doing the combo so since WE were canceling then they were charging us the full price to do the axe throwing. Ridiculous! We weren't late but we had to pay for their mistake. Unacceptable! Do not go here with all the options in PCB. read more

I went to Royal Escape with friends today and it was a great monday activity. The service was great! The process was easy to get started. I enjoyed how the employees were helpful in getting us excited about the escape room. It was my first time doing an escape room challenge so it was nice that the employees were "in character" and also pumped up some momentum for me! They had props for us to wear if we wanted which was funny. Anytime we needed a hint they really helped by providing those over the walkie talkie without giving away the entire thing.
