For a random stop, in the middle of nowhere, it was a cool little dineresque station for our Greyhound to stop at for 30 minutes. I had my own lunch packed and I sat outside but when I went in the overwhelmingly fresh smell of amazing fried chicken hit me hard and I had to try some. For what this place, I was impressed. It was good, clean, not greasy, and inexpensive. In the end it's still a gas station and the restroom was appalling. Otherwise I'd give it more stars. Especially, if any of you are coming here because you happen to be traveling by bus. Good wings, ignore everything else. read more

Not very clean. The fryers run over with old breading and are crusted almost to the point of not opening. Well, the fried chicken is still pretty tasty, the potato wedges here were half cooked, and had an unpleasant crisp snap when bitten into. The restrooms also felt more like something out of a horror movie rather than... Something asunremarkable as restroom really ought to be. i'm not sure if it was a fentanyl patch or a nicotine patch stuck on the side of the stall next to all the graffiti, but I feel like both the manager, and all of the employees really just don't give a damn about this place. read more

They had a customer appreciation day yesterday which was nice, all sorts of nice giveaways. I stumbled into it. I purchased a few items and one was Crunchy Chicken Salad which I did not eat until today. The label said Crunchy Chicken Salad and I paid for it, but there was Potato Salad inside. When I picked the first item up I saw it was Potato Salad so I put it and looked over and saw the Crunchy Chicken Salad so I picked it up thinking it was just that, but nope. They look similar when packaged but as you can see in the picture I bought what I thought was Crunchy Chicken Salad. This is a Greyhound rest stop if you're heading from NYC to Norfolk and vice versa and it's a good place to stop. The bathrooms were quite clean both times of day that we stopped inside. They have a great coffee and danish area. They seem to have chicken and fries available at all hours of the day and honestly, if I wasn't allergic to the wheat, I'd have been all over that chicken because it looked moist and delicious. They even had a regular to go food area where you can buy portable food items and knick knacks/souvenirs and such. Honestly, the next time my family decides to head to VA and we happen to be driving our own vehicle, I'm definitely going to make a point to stop here and rest for a bit as they also have some good seating available. read more

I had never heard of this gas station chain before in my life. If it weren't for a Greyhound bus taking us through the middle of nowhere (aka Delaware) then I never would have encountered their "world famous" fried chicken. It was our only food stop on the trip down the East Coast, a gas station with its own back road entrance for large vehicles to maneuver. The place was well put together with a bevy of snacks and drinks for all your road trip needs. Very clean across the board. The true jewel of Royal Farms is the fried chicken. Deliciously spread before you in an assortment of flavors. We went with the regular (my travel partner is allergic to spice... wuss) ordering only a handful of pieces to fit our limited lunchtime window. They were delicious. Not too greasy and sizable portions. With only two pieces each we were pleasantly full. I don't know if I'd consider their chicken "world famous", but I sure as hell would eat here again and take a bunch to go too. read more

Stopped here for 20m on the Greyhound from New York to Norfolk, VA. The driver joked around and said "Welcome to Bridgeville, DE. home of the greasiest and saltiest chicken." Everyone laughed. I thought he was joking around when he said that, but it was the actual truth. As soon as you walk in, you can smell the grease in the foyer. I'm actually wearing a mask (COVID protection) and can smell the grease through the mask. Upon purchasing the chicken, I took it back to the bus to finally take a bite because I was extremely hungry. The chicken wa so salty that it felt like my heart was palpitating at an abnormal rate. I didn't even buy water at that! As soon as I reached my final destination, so hurried to the vending machine so fast and drank a whole bottle of water until it was done smh. read more

I called the Bridgeville royal farms 4 time to check if they had enough chicken for my order which was two 10pc dark because it was on sale but no one answered. I decided to just go in and order. When I got to the store there were 3 workers and not one customer in the store. I placed my order on the computer and the worker told me he didn't have enough chicken because he had to save it for the next day. Which is New Years . I have as so mad I just left because really how does royal farms have no chicken. I work in a deli and have never told someone I couldn't make them something because I had to save it for the next day. A sale is a sale no matter what. read more

Adding a review because I just feel bad this busy quick stop doesn't get enough love. Royal Farms does a really good job in this area of the country. It's always friendly, quick, and cheap, and I honestly don't even care how friendly it is so long as the food is fairly priced. I also dig the round the clock options for breakfast foods, and the robust coffee bar, which also includes brewed iced coffee, and that's key because iced coffee brewed correctly gives the better balance when ice is added. Simply adding ice to coffee and calling it iced coffee is an amateur Starbucks tactic. Yay Royal Farms. I'm a fan. read more

This was the worst royal farms experience I've ever had. The chicken was over cooked, bitter and cold. That matched the type of service we had -- bitter and cold. We ordered a 20pc and asked for extra trays or boxes to use as plates. We were told to buy plates from the convenience store despite paying $35 already. If this was my first time here-- I never would set foot into a royal farms. They disgraced the royal farms name and should be called 404 roadside roadkill garbage chicken. read more

If you're ordering food there's a wawa across the street Mac n cheese was icky and it was a long wait.

This was a pit-stop while driving out to Ocean City, MD. Conveniently located at the intersection of Routes 13 and 404 in DE., this place has all of your pit-stop needs from a restroom to snacks or a full on meal before you get back on the road. I'm used to Wawa, Quick Chek, & 7-11 that basically only have subs and hot dogs for meal items. We left Royal Farms with an 8-piece bucket of fried chicken & it was delicious. Definitely wasn't expecting to get that quality chicken from a convenient store of all places. They also had sweet tea, which probably isn't that rare below the Mason-Dixon, but I'm a Yankee so I still get excited when I see fresh sweet tea available near the soda fountain and I don't have to settle for Gold Peak. Given the intersection, it seems like this is a major pit-stop for people travelling to and from the DE/MD beaches, so be aware of the crowds. There was a Greyhound bus stopped there while we were there, so it was pretty busy. read more
