4 piece chicken meal with potato wedges and biscuit
Vincent M.

I've heard other locations are better, but my first try was a little disappointing. The fried chicken was pretty good, but the potato wedges were fairly mushy and bland. It was kind of strange since they looked like they were seasoned. I had a biscuit that had something a bit off... it had the texture similar to some bread that was microwaved to warm, kind of chewy/tough. I also went with a chicken tender sandwich with ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles. Again, the flavor was a bit off. While the tenders weren't burned, the flavor was of bad/stale oil, so maybe that gave the burned flavor. Not too sure I'd give it a second go at this location but perhaps another.

I just got some of the best fried chicken o had in my life from.........a GAS STATION
Wesley R.

I'm convinced that all the 1 star reviews are WAWA fanatics. The chicken was sine if the best I ever had.

I was excited to eat the chicken until I watched the food handler wear gloves, touch unclean surfaces, and then touch my food.

Please check the expiration date of anything you buy here. Especially the orange juice. 7/10 times, it's old and disgusting

The fried chicken, in my opinion, is good, however not as good as Popeyes.

Well as of recently we both have seen it shared a bit and decided to try it out. We both got the pan con chicharron sandwich . I ordered plantains as a side and he had fries - it was a $4 add on for a side which you save $2.50 each by adding it to the sandwich. The size of the sides are probably both worth the $6.50 on their own. The fries were your basic fries - probably frozen but good. The plain twins were fried nicely and had good flavor - I would have loved a dipping sauce with them. Now since the place is known for their chicken I wanted to try something with chicken. Well they had empanadas (not sure if this is always on the menu) and you could get 3 for $12 with a sauce. We did each of the 3 flavors they had available: Huachana Empanada (this is the house made Salchicha which is a Peruvian sausage w/ eggs), ham & cheese , and the chicken . The sauce I picked to go with them was their signature sauce - the aji pollo. The sauce I have never tasted anything like it - definitely interesting. The chicken empanada was very plain. The chicken definitely did have a unique flavor but was a little dry in the empanada - it was apparently cooked with the same sauce. The ham and cheese was my favorite - I loved the cooper sharp with the ham. The sausage also had a great spice! As for the sandwich the chicharron was cooked so well paired with the sweet potato and pickled onions it gave it a nice balance of sweet and salty as well as different textured bites. I will say overall that most of the items on the menu were a tad dry and could use a sauce or something - however overall the flavor was great. Everything came to $40 which wasn't bad. The restaurant was super clean inside, they had a few tables but we got takeout. It also looked like they served coffee and a few other things. Their online order menu definitely has more items listed than the regular menu. I definitely do want to go back and try the rotisserie chicken on its own with some other sides! A very filling meal though if you're looking for that !

It's tender, well-seasoned, and tastes like someone actually cared about how it was made. If you've never been, don't overthink it. Start with a half chicken and two sides (good for 2-3 people). I suggest one rice-based side and one other. The portions are more substantial than you'd expect. Take it home, build yourself a slop bowl, and top it with the sauce you selected. You'll end up with a meal that's more filling and roughly half the price of two Chipotle burrito bowls. They also offer roast beef and pork options in the sandwich or appetizer section of the menu, which are solid alternatives if you're not into dealing with chicken on the bone or don't feel like deboning. This is primarily a takeout spot, so don't expect bathrooms or fountain soda, though there are a few places to sit if you want to eat there. If you're on a protein kick or just want something different (without getting too adventurous), Dan Hector is absolutely worth trying.

I live an hour away from Verona so when I heard this place was only a 15 min drive away from our hike, I knew I had to stop by. The well known Verona's did not disappoint. Unique to this pizzeria, the pizzas AND cheesesteaks are award winning. The wife and I ordered one of each. When we pulled up, this place was packed for 12PM. It hustlin and busslin! I ordered at the desk and waited maybe 25 mins (not bad at all for ordering in the spot and with the place being busy). Pizza: we ordered the "Hot Honey" at $27. We attacked this thing within 2 minutes of coming out the oven. Incredible dough with depth and texture. Perfect balance of sweet (sauce/honey) and savory (pepperonis/grated parm). Topped with fresh basil and hot honey. I wished there was more hot honey but to each their own. Elite pizza!! I highly recommend Cheesesteak ($18): we ordered it with fried onions and Cooper Sharp. Delicious bread, I'm assuming it's home made and if it's not it's definitely high quality bread. Tender ribeye steak chopped and mixed beautifully with the cheese and onions. Meaty sandwich for sure. I prefer my cheesesteaks a bit more cheesier but I was a happy camper as was my wife. All in all, this joint is pumping out top tier "pizzeria food". This will be my post hike reward anytime I'm in the area. Dare I say Verona's goes toe to toe with Angelo's Pizzeria (highly regarded pizzeria) as best in the state! 5/5

We also tried their Wings, well done and dry with ranch dressing and Buffalo sauce on the side. They were very good and decently priced! 10 wings for about $12. We got an order of cheese fries and regular fries and their Portions do Not disappoint! We were Stuffed to the gills by the end of our meal. Open the double wiz and it was less than regular wiz previously. Made the meatball a regular. Total now was $64.40. Wish I could add a picture of the receipts. They got an amazing menu with vegetarian as in portobello mushrooms, but they also have grilled or chopped chicken, which is pretty cool. How, what, why It is a dry steak, not burnt. Really good! p. s. ( some real Philly cheesesteaks make sure it is actually burnt just slightly on the edges to get that super grilled taste. While others are so wet, it soaks through the bun and you can't even pick it up. And if you take it on a trip for 10 minutes...Inedible. Did you know that a ' real steak' is not made w oil ; but spots of water? That's because the fat on it should be good enough in balance that it doesn't stick.) Taste, smell, satisfaction It is very juicy and not oily, (which in my opinion goes through the bun when you take it out, such as when you go to Henry Avenue, or a couple local places) nope. No wet roll. Awesome and great to take for later and re-warm without it getting all screwed up. Idea for goin' South Like taking 50 of them down to Virginia or Tennessee. In a cooler. That would work. My pics I start with just a steak, sesame roll fried onions. I added two kinds of Parmesan, a touch of red pepper, salt, and yes, tomato sauce. Sorry I was raised on that. Ketchup is too sweet for me. Litmus test If you eat a steak plain, it'll really tell you how good it is. How much gristle is in it etc. This had NO PERCEPTION OF GRISTLE. NICE! Rating This was excellent. Prime protein, nice roll - Lisco's of course - well done. So you are prepared; While I will eat 1/2 of a sandwich and be very satisfied, the rolls are smaller. And the price of ALL steaks is higher. You know how your ice cream is shrunk? I actually didn't know my wife pointed out to me. Well, the rolls have shrunk. So sandwiches for four people will cost a minimum of $65 with tip. Get outside. It's worth it your kids will love it. I hope to be there. Thanks for a great sandwich.
