I was craving fried chicken after an event right down the street. I asked a friend who was with me and lives close where could I go and they didn't have an idea, so I decided to just go home. On my way, I saw Royal Farms and remembered they could have somewhat decent food and I could risk it. I pulled up and sat in my car as I waited for a response to see who else wanted to divulge in a guilty pleasure this late on a Friday night and noticed a lot of other ladies pulling up and going inside. This gave me a confidence boost and I got out my car and proceeded to wait in line at the kiosk to place my order. As I awaited in my car I noticed they had a "Chicken Box" special for $7 that comes with a leg and thigh I believe. I went to their website to attempt to order so I could see what my choices were before going in but I didn't see the CB special on their site for pickup or order ahead. I took my time at the kiosk trying to figure out what I wanted and the best way to order it without anything else extra. I ordered and looked at the food holding in the hot area and just swallowed and charged it to the game. I saw some feathers on the wings and most of the food looked dry. The wedges actually looked very tempting, and I hoped I'd at least enjoy them. I got in line which now was 6 people deep at least with one cashier who was checking everyone out. Although, there were 3/4 other registers for self-checkout, none were open . . . . crazy, I know. The cashier was nice and I could tell they were accustomed to long lines because they were delightful and patient. I paid and instantly looked for my bag to put my napkins and condiments in then realized those are obsolete now. I walked over to the pickup area and was asked my number. This was different, I had remembered other locations typically have your food ready for you by the time you pay. I was tempted to ask him not to give me that one with the feather lol but he didn't so I thanked him and turned around to grab my desired condiments and napkins with my best attempt to hold everything without dropping it as I made my way out the store. I didn't make it, some items fell SMH I did crush about half of my food before pulling off but I wasn't the only one. The care next to me had people crushing their food as well lol. The chicken wasn't too warm but the wedges were good and crispy with the coating not falling off which is always a win. read more

Something gooey dropped onto my windshield in the car wash. Something in a straight line. It won't scrape off. Went in to talk to the manager and all I heard was this is never happened in their car wash and everyone's happy with the car washes. I invited her and him because there were two people to come out and look at my windshield because of reflection, I couldn't get a clear pic. They Declined but they gave me another car wash to go through again. Well, I went through again after scraping as much off as I could, and it still didn't come off. I am a frequent customer of Royal Farms. I want to compliment an employee at this location. I believe her name is Dawn. She works the overnight shift. She is constantly and consistently doing something while working. Cleaning, sweeping or mopping, waiting on customers, etc... Ive been to many other Royal Farms locations. It's not a Royal Farms location up for any awards to put it mildly. Men's Room is dirty and the car wash is frequently out of service. Trash cans on the pump islands are often running over. Oh, but they will sell you a car wash at the pump with no mention of the car wash being out of order. I also do not appreciate the shake down artists (addicts) who frequent the property with absolutely no intention of making a fuel, car wash or retail purchase. They want your loose change but prefer the folding money. You would think management would call the police and file a criminal trespass charge as a few of them come inside the store and use the dining tables as a flop house. read more

If you can wait, you should go on to another gas station. So Sunday evening I was here and it was late and while I was a little annoyed at how long it took to get assistance with the self checkout, know you have NO other option, I figured it was Sunday they had a busy day I should be more understanding. Also I thought maybe they made a mistake with my order of wedges. It was late after all and their were several workers chapping. I should not have been eating all that greasy food anyway. While I love Old Bay on crabs not so much on wedges. Today I had to stop there again. I will try my best to never have to stop here again. Bathroom was horrible. On the upside it only took 7 times calling attendant and one going to them to get someone to the self checkout. Gas station fried chicken shouldn't taste this good!!! I've lived in the Baltimore/DC area for more than 2 years now. However, I've never tried Royal Farms' famous fried chicken. Better late than never, right? My only regret is that I didn't partake sooner in this heaven on Earth goodness. It was crispy and juicy at the same time. The mac and cheese was creamy. Slow service and tons of flies in this joint. On this night the service was extra slow with a side of attitude too. I walked in and and ordered a single chicken breast and then made a cup of coffee. I then went to the counter and stood waiting for just under 5 minutes waiting..and waiting..and-you get the idea. No one was around me. As more people started to stand around, a short very thin female began making what appeared to be an elaborate order. I watched flies buzz around the chicken and me. The flies especially like the sign that said "pick up". Maybe all the grease build up? Not sure. She called 629 and gave it to a dude. I asked if my order for 625 came through on the screen. She snapped back "I'm gonna get to you!" I said "I was just asking because I wasn't sure if it's saying I already paid". I did not want to get indignant because my number was 625 and maybe somehow 629 was in front of me? Idk. She pointed at the only breast in there and said is that one good enough? I said yes but do you have more cooking? She said 6 more minutes. I took the dried up breast and left. read more

Very busy store as I've been here many times before. Eating area is usually in need of attention, same as the restroom. The food is very good, but be prepared to wait longer than you would for fast food; just in case you're in a rush. I have been stopping at this store a lot and the store has been clean each time the food was good and the service was fast and friendly The cashier has greeted me each time and has been pleasant last time I was in the cashier asked if I had a rewards card and signed me up for it The deli workers make good sandwiches and the chicken is excellent Plus every time I have gotten gas here the receipts is at the pump no running in the store because there out of paper at the pump This helps especially if you are in a hurry Also the car wash is pretty good read more

What is it with Royal Farms? I've had some icky experiences in multiple stores, but I just keep going back. I'd like to say that my visit to this location today takes the cake, but it doesn't. This definitely isn't the worst Farm Store I've ever been to. I do have a little bit of an issue with this place, though. If you're familiar with Royal Farms food at all, you know that the chicken slider is made with a huge chicken tender (fried in-store) nestled inside a cute little dinner roll. I like mine with pickles, by the way. So, can someone please tell me why my chicken slider was made with half of a chicken patty? Literally, it was a chicken patty cut in half...not the delicious fried chicken I was expecting...just a sad, limp half a chicken patty that came to the store frozen. Ugh. When I saw the sandwich, I checked the Royal Farms website to see if the company changed the recipe, which of course, they didn't. Recently, the birds had a poop party on my car, prompting my visit to the car wash at Royal Farms on Cromwell Park Drive and Aviation Blvd. I purchased a $9 car wash -- which had done an efficient job in the past. However, there was absolutely zero foam used. It was a "car rinse." I did not go into the store to complain because I had an appointment elsewhere. The bird poop was still on my windshield and car. I am so disappointed. I will look for an affordable car wash where $9 buys a foam bath. read more

I agree with the other reviewer, 100%. The food here is good but the employees are terrible and for that I blame the management or lack of. It seems most people working here have no issues sharing with the customers about how miserable they are. Some of them even take that out on the customers! Also, they're known for having one line open at peak times, so it's not really a fast location. I Am An Employee for this location yes I agree with some stuff said I agree we should have more then one big line they shouldn't have a big line and just take the next in line every register should have a line to move quicker...
