When you first arrive, you can let the employees know that you're a first timer and they will give you a fried shrimp sample. It's so delicious and they give you a good sized shrimp as well. The shrimp lacked flavor as if they were steamed in without seasoning and then added to the boil while the ramen was so salty that we couldn't eat it. The crabs were tasty and a good size I got the large size. My boyfriend loved the fish, they give you three pieces for the fish order and you get two sides. He got the corn and sweet potato fries. We also got the shrimp to try and that also came with two sides and we got the Mac and cheese. The sweet potatoes and corn were just okay, but we weren't a fan of the Mac and cheese. The staff was very helpful when we were deciding what to order. We went with fried shrimp, fried whiting, crab cakes, fries and their recommended seafood egg roll. The seafood egg roll was by far the star of the show. Literally filled with all shrimp and crab meat, with a few slivers of carrots. The shrimp and fish were very good. The fries were also good. Looks like a family owned business with everyone kinda doing every job. I was greeted warmly by the young man at the counter and once I realized they had a few tables, I asked if I could just eat in there. My seasoned crab legs were done in about 10 min and I was given a large fried shrimp to try since it was my first visit. I know I went for crab legs but that shrimp was delicious. Seasoned perfectly, fresh and hot. The crab legs were delicious too. Not overcooked and mushy and the seasoning mix was yummy. Good customer service and solid food. I got a good fried whiting plate and shrimp basket from crack and juicy. My favorite sides were the French fries and onion rings, while I was not a huge fan of the Mac and cheese or the corn on the cob. I thought both the shrimp and whiting had a nice crispy cook and were well seasoned. The crab cake was not bad but had a salty / mustardy undertone I didn't love as I prefer crabcakes to be very crab meat forward with only a hint of added seasoning and filler. All, I would like to share my experience at this restaurant, it was AMAZING! They are fairly new from what the owner mentioned but you would not be able to tell by how delicious the food was. We had the crab cake platter and the fried shrimp catfish platter and both were so good. The restaurant is family owned and their season base is Thai inspired, full of flavor. The onion rings and hush puppies are cooked to order tasting fresh. The crab cake was flavorful and full of lump crab with minimal filling and again the seasoning took it to a higher level! I would say that appearances aren't everything, and they are working on elevating the Devore but it is a clean, friendly and inviting spot. Best advice is not to buy crabs without checking them before you leave. I bought a dozen of large male crabs for $95 and 8 out the 12 were light crabs this is a total rip off. Son said his stepfather is the owner and he has been trying to get him to do better for the business but stepfather refuses. Just check your order before leaving is my best advise. Nothing was done as of yet to correct my order. So I do feel it was intentional because while I was waiting I asked again if they were heavy crabs and I was told yes and they gave me six medium crabs due to the same thing happened before on my previous order half bag of light crabs and even the medium "free" crabs were light. I'll let people judge themselves because I can't be the only one that is complaining about light crabs for nearly $100 and this is not the first time it has happened but I gave them a second chance and the same thing happened again . I called to complain and son answered the phone and originally said he was the manager when I reminded him of my complaint he said the owner is not there and to call back later. I will not order from them again and I used to order Jumbo crab all the time and they were good and heavy before but the business now has changed a lot read more
