Gas is gas and compared to California. Anything under $4 is cheap! Now the kicker is that they have some bad ass fried chicken! Better than KFC or Popeye's! Totally floored how good it was. It was moist and juicy with crispy outside. Who would have thought gas station fried chicken would be this good...BTW this is how KFC started. Service was nice and I saw they were making batches constantly. My order was hot when we got it and we ate it in MD about and hour later. Ambiance is typical Moderna's station / rest stop so nothing to write home about but it was that chicken! Lastly it was 10 pieces for $15...Nit small mutant sized legs and drums but huge big pieces. Employees were very friendly and helpful. It was pretty busy when I was there and everyone was courteous and professional.

For some reason they turn off all the registers but one at around 9 p.m. This is ridiculous. When they first opened up in my area they were great, not no more. Takes for ever to check out now with only one register open, where an employee has to check you out. read more

This is the first time I've ever gotten trashed inside of a Royal Farms. That said, given the piles of trash inside and outside of the store, I'm sure it's a common occurrence at the Queenstown Royal Farm. I'm sure food poisoning is a common occurrence there as well, but I can't speak to that. Given just how dirty the store was inside and out, and how EVERY trashy can was piled over in trash, I'd rather sky dive without a parachute then take my chances at eating anything there. I stop here almost every week when im travelling for work. This is the first time i ordered food. After i paid she handed me a box and said "thats got to be it". When i got out to my truck i opened the box and dug through it to discover my tenders were not in there. When i went back inside to ask for them i was told "you gotta bring the box back in". This is the easternmost Royal farms on the east side of the Bay Bridge. If you are heading towards Annapolis you will find a Wawa and another Royal Farms on your side before you reach the bridge. If you are heading towards Delaware from the bridge you are sure to see the other businesses available to you on that side. There's nothing wrong with this Royal Farms for gas, and if you have to stop you have to stop, but this review is here as a warning about the smell. This location smells of old chicken grease. This isn't a new smell, and it is strong enough to send me elsewhere when I have that option, especially as it is heavy enough to linger in your clothes and hair. That said, the employees are pleasant and the selection of snack foods and hot lunch items is vast. It's also an easy exit/entrance from either side of 301, and if you are heading East it is the last gas and coffee you will see for the next 20 miles. read more

9/14/19 After the wedding, we stopped for gas. I hear Orlando say this place is famous for their fried chicken. Sure enough, as you walk through the front doors, you can smell the chick scent on the air. A gentleman bought a big bag of fried chicken for his family, yes, he feels like chicken tonight...chicken tonight. I found I had self control with the chicken, but the mini chicken&waffle minis with maple syrup cooked into the bread was too much for me. I bought one and found the food to be tasty, but nothing like the wedding food. Still the service was good, and do was the speed of preparing the food. Here's how it works for those who have never ordered chicken from Royal Farms. 1. Select what your order is to the sandwich maker. 2. Pay the cashier at the cashier line. 3. Go back to the chicken coop where you ordered you food and leave your receipt on the spike or keep it if you want to. I did not see the rest rooms, but have a feeling they are in better shape than the last gas station I went into by 70%. I look forwards to seeing more of these stores coming to the Rockville Maryland area; as well, as the Virginia area. Guess we will have to wait and see. read more

Terrible service and misleading prices. I stop to put gas, from the street the Road sign said gas was $3.09 at the pump it was as $3.19. When asked the manager why there is a price difference at the pump compared to the road sign, she said that there was nothing she can do! I was en route from Delaware to DC to pick up my buddy. I was running low on fuel, so I stopped by here to fuel up. This place has a sizable convenience store. Although I was not in need of any drinks or snacks at the time, I was impressed by their assortment. I quickly made a pit stop, and went to fuel up my car. This Royal Farms has steadily gone in a downward direction in regards to cleanliness over the last two years. I could understand this during peak beach season due to high volume of customers, but during the off season there is no excuse. The bathrooms are filthy. The soap dispenser ripped off the wall in men's bathroom. No paper towels at the fuel pumps and the squeegee was so old it didn't propey assist in cleaning windshield. Disappointing as this has been our go to, but will no longer be our #1 choice. read more

I stop here regularly for my lunch break. Never too crowded. The store is incredibly clean. The food is hot and fresh and so far has always been correct as ordered. The only downside I can think of is that the staff could be a LITTLE more engaging. Most of them don't even acknowledge your existence. The ones that do never smile. I don't know what all the hype is about. The fried chicken was solid. Not great but not bad either. The chicken fingers weren't bad either. The potato wedges weren't very good. They were soggy. The ordering process is lame. You can order everything on the touch screen but can't pay for it on the same terminal. The terminal prints out a ticket and you have to present the ticket to a cashier in order to pay for everything at the main register. Can't Royal Farms figure out a way to take credit cards at the terminal you place the order on? I would probably stop back if I was on the go and in the mood for fried chicken. I stopped by this store around 11:30pm 8/13/17 for a quick on the go grab. I got a turkey and cheddar sub two cokes and the free chocolate bar. Upon opening the sub it had a strong odor. Just thinking it was the turkey meat I ate it. Upon eating the sub my stomach started to hurt. Not thinking it was anything serious I didn't think anything of it. Around 3am I was awaken to sharp pains in my stomach. Throwing up. Sweating. Shaking. I passed out on my bathroom floor. To my discovery I had food poisoning. All from a gas station turkey sub. This is the worst Royal Farm ever opened. It is poorly managed and never are prepaired for customers. I just went in the new one that opened in Grasonville this week and what a difference if there kitchen and customers services remains the same the one in Queenstown may look its doors. read more

The coffee is flavored water - very dissapointed. We would rather pay a little more and get real coffee.

The place is fine is you need gas or packaged food. The "fresh cooked" food is anything but. we live nearby and WERE going here fairly regularly for their "famous" and "guaranteed fresh" chicken. As other have noted, the order process borders on the ridiculous. More inportant, the food is anything but fresh. On 3 different visit over the past couple months we brought home chicken that was so tough, overcooked we had to throw it out. Obviously had been cooked hours (days?) earlier. The box says its "GUARANTEED" BUT NO WHERE ON THE PACKAGE IS THEIR ANY PHONE NUMBER OR EMAIL ADDRESS TO CONTACT THEM. Even KFC outdoes this store for chicken, fries, etc. read more
