Being a DIYer, I'm not one to call professionals until after I've exhausted every possibility to…read moreget the job done on my own. This holds true for my car as well as my house. So when the pressure tank for my well started to leak, I replaced it. I did my online research as to the right model to get as well as how to install it. Ordered a new tank through Amazon and went to Home Depot to get copper pipe, valves and fittings - as well as some advice on how to put it all together. After the job, the system seemed to be okay - for a while. But then the pump started to short-cycle whenever I ran any water in the house. As long as the water was on, the pump would cut in and out every few seconds, while the pressure varied wildly. I got back online with a vengeance - scouring handyman forums. I even talked to a plumber and a well drilling contractor. I applied what I learned, but the problem still persisted. Since it was a jet pump system, the consensus then became that I needed to replace the venturi and foot valve in the well. I didn't want to do this myself, so I went onto Angie's List to seek help. A response came from Fortier's Plumbing. Sometimes you just luck out, and this was certainly the case for me. Justin is one of the best professionals I've ever worked with. He's patient, unassuming and meticulous. While I had already started digging down to the well, he was assessing everything I'd already done and made a few adjustments. Performance improved, but the basic problem still remained. Justin then noticed a valve serving no obvious purpose had been installed between the pump output and the pressure tank. After conferring with some colleagues on the phone, he decided that we should remove it from the system and replace it with a section of pipe. This did the trick. Even when the valve was open, it apparently had created just enough back pressure to cause spikes in water pressure that would then cause the pump to cut in and out. That valve had been there all along but didn't affect operations until after I'd installed the new pressure tank. Talk about a red herring! I'm glad Justin questioned it. What an expensive disaster it would have been to dig out the venturi and foot valve just to discover that the problem still wasn't solved! This is why I feel lucky. It just so happened that I found a pro who didn't jump to the same conclusions that others (including myself) did. He saved me my sanity and a lot of money! I can't recommend Justin Fortier's Plumbing enough! Justin loves what he does, and it shows. It's also obvious that quality work at a fair price is important to him. Because of what he referred to as "a learning curve," he knocked an hour's labor charge off my final bill. In hindsight I think I should have declined to accept that courtesy. As Justin himself put it, "We both learned something today." And that new knowledge for me is worth a lot more than the discount.

This business is now the only entity I trust to work on our house, and I trust them completely…read more When you use a private contractor, if an issue arises that they refuse to address, one has a little recourse, except small claims court or an attorney. With One Stop Home Repair, if an issue arises, you simply call the office and they address it promptly. We had a minor issue with an electrician, and not only did one stop adjust the bill, but they sent an electrician the following day to correct the problem, which was followed by a visit from the owner himself to look over the work to make sure that everything had been done correctly. We use them for electrical, plumbing, AC, heating, and now we are using them for cabinetry. This is a company that is entirely focused on the customer. Their values of Customer Service are anachronistic and are what one could have expected back in the 90s. They stand behind their work, they are extremely fair in pricing, and they back everything they do up completely. After having lived in our house for 14 years and having used countless contractors for different tasks, some of which were done well, and some of which were not, some of which could book an appointment in a reasonable lot of time, some of which vanished in the middle of the job, and some of which were impossible to make an appointment with, we now use one stop exclusively for literally everything in our house because their quality of service is far above anyone else's. We have complete confidence in this company, which is more than I can say for the vast majority of independent contractors who have come and gone. This is not a corporation staffed by indifferent employees. This is old-fashioned, personal service. They are prompt, they are polite, and on the rare occasions that an issue arises they are extremely prompt and fair in resolving any issue. The peace of mind that this brings as a homeowner is in valuable, and I cannot recommend this company anymore highly. I would give them six stars if I could.

We used this company to help switch over to propane. Which was $14,000 and we were fine with it…read morebecause we needed an new heating system. In the first couple weeks the water kept going cold, then the heat would not work. We called them and they would come out and "fix" the issue. Only for it to happen again. We finally got them to come out to "fix" it a final time to find out that they did not put the exhaust vent outside the house. Apparently when your exhaust vent is inside the house you cannot use an air freshener around it. Which we were not made aware of. One guy came out and said that the whole system was set up wrong and after he messed around with it, it started working. A couple months later we get a bill for $3,000!!! On a heating system they did not install correctly. We said we were not paying it because THEY were the ones that did not do their jobs correctly. They threatened us with a lean on the house if we did not pay the bill. After I had my father talk to them, they brought it down to a little over $1,000 for the bill. On something that they did not install correctly to begin with.
