I don't know anything about checking oil levels or adding oil. But somehow my dad thought I knew how. So I went to the closest auto shop and the mechanic taught me how to! He was soo nice. The mechanic is nice, although don't expect to get your car back quickly; it's just him. He will give you an accurate time and price estimate, though. I love the sign that says something like CASH KEEPS GAS PRICES LOW. I love it because I refuse to be guilt-tripped into paying with cash, so I always pay with a credit card. If the place is really that concerned about the credit-card fees, it should charge less per gallon for people paying with cash. Me, I'll keep using my card and wondering how much money they spent on having the vinyl sign printed.

I just got mine done today (Jan 17, 2024) and I think pricing went up a few dollars but not by a lot. Total was $54.95 today. The guys here are usually really quick (no longer than 30 minutes) but I usually come in the mornings so I can't speak for later in the day. Today I actually had 3 other cars in front of me but it still didn't take more than 30 mins. I really appreciate the guy running the smog checks today. He was hustling, running back and fourth when he really don't need to but it's awesome to see him taking his job seriously and wanting to get customers in and out to go about their days. As soon as a customer pulls up, he grabbed a clipboard and ran over to them. When customers were on their phones while sitting in the waiting area, the employee came over to let them know it's ready instead of yelling out their names. Just little things to made it a pleasant experience. Taraval also has a few coffee shops in the area so you could also go hang out somewhere and check back in later!

We assumed that the card machine at the pumps were compromised. I tried calling to alert the staff about the fraud, and all I got was "Yeah, fraud happens a lot." Unbelievably lazy and rude
