Funny coincidence that the last two times my credit card information was hacked was after using it at this gas station. Hey, how about you update the old fashioned "swipe" readers to the chip or touchless tap method which is way harder to hack, especially since your gas prices are higher than most other places! This is our neighborhood station - I frequently pull in here without looking at the sign (the $5.99 price WAS posted), just wanting to support our neighborhood businesses. I didn't notice the price until I had pumped fourteen gallons. I live less than a block away from this place and I used to always bring my old Accord there to get it serviced. I would constantly be having problems with my car starting and the transmission locking and would bring it here. They never clearly communicated to me what was wrong, they'd just do something to it to get it to run for a while until I had to come back. I remember the prices always going higher until eventually I ended up getting another car and found cheaper places to get my car serviced. My dad brought our old Acura here to get a tune up and the brakes changed and got charged over $700 something late last year. I drove it after and noticed the brakes still felt extremely mushy and didn't give me a lot of confidence at all. I figured I was just used to my own car and let it be. We eventually brought it to another place for some service recently and was told that the brakes were never even changed! So basically we got charged for nothing! Such a ripoff. I was never that impressed before, but now I'm definitely staying away and recommend everyone do the same. read more

I recently got a ticket because I didn't have my front license plate on my truck (pros of living so close to the beach and having things rust). I approached the young guy in the garage and he was more than happy to help me out. When he finished I asked how much I owed him, but he wouldn't accept any money. I realize this job took him a total of 2 minutes to complete, but I was really touched by his generosity. I plan on getting any future repairs done and referring friends here. read more

The customer service at this place is awesome. We took our 96 Jimmy in because it wasn't starting. It was going to be a distributor, plugs and wires for like $600. We couldn't afford that, and instead of sending us away, Uncle Sam asked what we could afford and gave a remarkable deal. Car was running great after that. Months later the Jim wasn't running too well. Some younger guy helped us this time. He replaced a seemingly faulty wire for free because it shouldn't have gone bad yet, and after some research he told us it must be a fuel injector issue. Unfortunately that's about a $1100 job. Instead of squeezing money out of us, he recommended we try some high grade fuel injector cleaner before dropping a bunch of cash! Unheard of at a service station. Basically he told us to spend $8 somewhere else instead of $1100 at their station. Jim runs good again. Such good people. read more

If you want basic tune ups and brakes done, they can do it. But if you need diagnostic work I'd take it somewhere else, like Habelt's on Irving. For example, I took in a pick-up truck a friend had let me borrow. It had a problem starting, either the starter or solenoid. I explained this to Sam and also told him that the battery was just charged so it wasn't the battery. I picked it up the next day. They said they'd replaced the battery and that was the problem!!! Of course the next time I tried starting it, it wouldn't start and we were right back where we started. Also I think it can be a problem with speaking English. I can't speak Chinese so there's always a problem with communication. read more

I used to come here all the time for my oil change. I never had a problem with them until I came back to have a side mirror replaced after some drunk looser ripped it off on a drunken night. I ordered the part myself and gave it to them to replace. After they were done, I noticed huge scratch marks on my car under the mirror. I swore they weren't there before, or were they? Geez, I wished I took pictures. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I still get gas there but I haven't taken my car there to get serviced again. read more

I dropped in to gas up and realized i had a flat tire. I had filled the flattening tire the week before so knew there was a leak. I asked the mechanic who was working on a car about having a tire patched for a leak and he fit me in right away. 10 minutes later, the big nail removed, the tire was patched up, the other tires' pressure filled (they were low as i had not checked them for months) and i was on my way. He also mentioned how overfilling the tire makes the middle of the tire tread bald which my rear wheels had gotten. (It was overfilled awhile back for 3 months unfortunately). I give them five stars for prompt and honest service. read more

David Shum is the best most trustworthy mechanic in town as far as I'm concerned. He did a diagnostic test for me and didn't even charge me for it when nothing turned up (i'd had a similar test done at big-o tires and they told me my rear brakes needed tightening, etc, and my breaks are totally fine) ..... He's installed my new timing belt, always done my oil change and fixed an engine problem and my car of 12 years is running as well as ever. read more

I took my car to this station for an oil change and filter. I will not return to this business again for anything other than fuel. The bill for the filter and oil change was $78. The belligerent and untruthful attitude of the owner was far worse than the price. The OEM specs for my car clearly state the engine capacity is 8 1/2 qts of oil including a filter change. They charged me for 10 qts @ $5/qt. When I questioned the owner he told me "they put in 10 qts!, maybe your car takes 10 qts with a filter". He would not back away from his position. The dipstick shows full at 8 1/2 qts. If, as he contended, they incorrectly put in 10 qts, the dipstick would have shown well over the full mark. This back and forth went on for five minutes. I realized he was lying and was, clearly, unwilling to admit his mistake (or intentional overcharge). Without saying anything he pulled a qt of 20 W 50 off the shelf and gave it me. Presumably this was to offset charging me $15 for 1 1/2 qts that were never put in the engine. Wall Street is not the only institution that has learned how to lie with a straight face. My husband and I have brought various cars we have owned over the last 10 years to Mr. Shum's station for repairs and oil changes, tire rotation and total replacement of our exhaust system, etc.. He and his mechanics have always done a great job. He has even put on new windshield wipers for free. One time for some reason we had been double billed on our credit card, however, Mr Shum gave us a credit to use for our next visit. Additionally, his prices are reasonable. read more

I used to love this place for routine service, but the quality of the workmanship has declined severely over the past few years. On top of that, I sold them my old car and they never submitted their end of the title transfer paperwork, leaving me with a massive accumulation of parking tickets and potentially huge liability--took many hours of my time to get this straightened out.
