The mechanic is nice, although don't expect to get your car back quickly; it's just him. He will give you an accurate time and price estimate, though. I love the sign that says something like CASH KEEPS GAS PRICES LOW. I love it because I refuse to be guilt-tripped into paying with cash, so I always pay with a credit card. If the place is really that concerned about the credit-card fees, it should charge less per gallon for people paying with cash. Me, I'll keep using my card and wondering how much money they spent on having the vinyl sign printed.

I just got mine done today (Jan 17, 2024) and I think pricing went up a few dollars but not by a lot. Total was $54.95 today. The guys here are usually really quick (no longer than 30 minutes) but I usually come in the mornings so I can't speak for later in the day. Today I actually had 3 other cars in front of me but it still didn't take more than 30 mins. I really appreciate the guy running the smog checks today. He was hustling, running back and fourth when he really don't need to but it's awesome to see him taking his job seriously and wanting to get customers in and out to go about their days. As soon as a customer pulls up, he grabbed a clipboard and ran over to them. When customers were on their phones while sitting in the waiting area, the employee came over to let them know it's ready instead of yelling out their names. Just little things to made it a pleasant experience. Taraval also has a few coffee shops in the area so you could also go hang out somewhere and check back in later!

I knew I was in the right hands when I was greeted warmly on the phone and the woman on the phone worked well with me to find an appointment time that worked. Upon bringing the car in, Guy, the mechanic, was attentive, thoughtful, and listened to my concerns / issues about the car. A few hours later, Guy called me and walked me through my different options for resolution. Guy was extremely fair on the price. I ended up calling a few places for a second opinion after getting the work done (out of curiosity) and Guy was the cheapest, and was also the fastest in being able to accommodate getting the work done. On top of that, Guy did not charge me for a number of checks / small fixes that he ended up doing for me. This business is run well - you are definitely in good hands with Guy and the rest of his team!
