Great food fast. Ordered takeout and it was ready and waiting on me. The food is very good and is reasonably priced.

Honestly I love it here, the ambience is wonderful (I especially love the jazz music) the people are friendly and kind, the portions are generous and the food is very fresh. Anyone complaining about this place and compared it to the one on Meadows doesn't know what they're talking about. The one at meadows is AUTHENTIC Chinese version of the menu and the one in Southland Shopping Center sells AMERICANIZED version of the same menu, of course they're going to taste different because the way the food is cooked is different! Service was friendly and fast, food had much to be desired. Mongolian beef was delicious, yet overloaded with onions, could be personal preference. "Fried Rice" is not fried rice, it is white rice with egg. The entree was tasty, but "fried rice" had no flavor unless added sauce. Considering it cost more here for an entree you can get at a local place for less, and that actually gives you fried rice, I would recommend you go to the other local restaurants. read more

I am taking into consideration that this is Terre Haute, IN. You can put a Chinese hat on a white guy, but it is still a white guy with a Chinese hat (kind of an alternate version of putting lipstick on a pig). We ordered take-out. The place is easy to find and indeed the restaurant itself was void of patrons, short the other people who left right ahead of me with their take-out. Angie behind the counter was friendly and kind. Prices are relatively inexpensive and their is a lot of variety on the menu, so there should be an option for every person. I think we went 1 for 5 with the dishes we ordered. Fried rice, tofu & veggies, salt & pepper calamari and cashew chicken were sub-par. Fried rice? - white rice with a touch of egg and hardly fried rice. Tofu & veggies? - tofu is watery and feathery in a way that in a Chinese dish it should not be so. Veggies was OK and kind of the redeeming factor to the dish. Salt & Pepper Calamari? - Super tough, like alligator meat. Cashew chicken? - note the photo...might have been a bit overkill on the cashews and there was hardly any chicken. What was good was the "Three Delicacies." Chicken, shrimp and beef with a a brown sauce. When dumped over the sub-par fried rice, it was actually pretty good. I think it was the the sauce. So again, this is Terre Haute (no insult) and not known for their Chinese food. Probably not a repeat for me personally, but one man's sub-par is another man's spectacular. read more

Worst service ever. Called for delivery to our apartment. More than an hour passed and so we called the restaurant to find our order. Turns out they delivered it elsewhere and refused to refund or remake. We demanded refund and owner refused and said that he would never again allow a delivery to this address. Apparently the driver went to the nursing home across the street and got the old order back and it was trashed. The owner said we had to drive to his restaurant with our credit card for a refund. They said that they will remake and deliver it after much Rgument. I hope one that we don't get food that has been contaminated. Will NEVER order here again. read more

Best crab rangoons in town! Like how there's three locations and appreciate the large menu

King pao was ok to many onions, dish was hot by the time we got home still hot that's good. Gen Tso was good wife enjoyed. Tai beef noodle was good and hot heat wise, spicy heat was perfect. Great value for dollar enough for 2 meals. Crab Rangoon was great. read more

Very disappointed. I ordered a half size order of sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, an egg roll and a small fountain drink. The sweet and sour sauce was way too think was more sweet than sour, I mean it literally reminded me of a slightly melted cherry or strawberry jello. The "fried rice" was literally white steamed rice with pieces of scrambled eggs in it. When I went to fill my drink I decided against getting ice as there was literal green mold or something in the clear part of the ice maker that you push down to get ice and the ice was partially melted as well. I will say that the food was hot and the restaurant itself, except for the ice maker was very clean. read more

This is one of my top places to get Chinese in town. I am a pretty boring person when it comes to Chinese food. I like the Southland location of Royal Mandarin because its (a) close to where I live and (b) smaller than its location at Meadows, so it attracts fewer people. I have only seen people sit and eat in this location once. I usually call ahead and pick up my food on the way home. The honey chicken is good. The crab rangoon is good. I also really like the egg drop soup. I wish they had a lower delivery minimum, as its pretty hard for me to spend $15 at once here by myself. It sucked! LG Egg drop soup looked like SNOT! Looked so gross-did not eat a "drop"!. Got shrimp w/broc and asked for garlic sauce on it and it came with bland snot looking sauce w/no flavor not even 2 packs of soy sauce helped! And the shrimp looked like fake pcs stuffed into a shrimp looking piece, even tore it apart was very strange!!!! The worst Chinese food I have ever had. The fried rice didn't have any vegetables in it, only bits of fried egg. The rice smelled like dirty laundry water. I had the garlic chicken, it was soaked in some soy flavored liquid which made it almost soup like. It had a strange variety of vegetables that I have never seen in a garlic chicken before. Definitely would not recommend. Panda Express has better Chinese food than this. read more
