My daughters, husband and myself go to this salon often over the years. We have always been greeted by name and when I've had any issues with my nails (because I'm a terror on my nails), I can get it fixed quickly and without hassle. I've done dips and gel here and my daughters have done acrylics. My husband ALSO goes in and gets a mani-pedi as well and loves it! Highly recommend. I've been consistently going here for pedicures for the last few years and continue to be pleased. I usually call the day of to make an appointment and can always get in within a couple of hours. The place is always clean, I'm always greeted upon arrival and always get a reasonably priced great pedicure (I love the pedicure options and individually packed products). My last pedicure (another salon) left me with some weird shaped toenails so I tried Royal Nails. I'd been there before (pre-Covid) and waited forever for my pedi. So now I'm going to tell you a Great Thing about Covid....nail salons now take appointments and can staff appropriately for the business they have, take their time, clean to high standards, and give a great customer experience. That's just what happened for this little gem of a shop. The ladies working also seemed more relaxed, less rushed, and the quality of the work is better! I have been getting mani pedis at Royal Nails for five or six years. I never have had to wait, the facility is clean, the staff are always polite and friendly. The entire staff is hardworking. I have my nails dipped and the polish lasts a month with no chipping. I exercise in pools five days, ten hours a week. They have worked with me to insure the polish is immune to the chlorine. I think they are a great salon and reasonable in price also. read more

This is a no frills, get it done nail place. I like it. I like the staff camaraderie. They're always having a good time and it makes you feel like part of it. I've never had a problem with the gel chipping as some have stated. I've also never had a problem with my eyebrows either. The only issue I've ever had is when my nail cracked and I asked them to put on a tip. Instead of listening to my request, they simply put glue on it. Of course, that didn't work but instead of degrading the whole business, I just make sure I don't get that tech. Don't expect high end, super luxury. I've gone here for years because it's close to where I live. The techs do a great job and are friendly. I would rate them 4 stars but they are always understaffed. The last few times the person greeting says it's a 20 minute wait. After 5 or 10 minutes they'll get you into a pedicure chair and then the real wait begins - 45 minutes on my last visit and again today. I'd rather be honest about how long the wait will be. Once my feet are in the tub I'm stuck even though I'd rather wait for another day when I actually have time to wait. read more

I live close to this location so I've been here more than a few times. There is always a long wait no matter what time of day you go. Business for them is good so I get it. What I don't get is the rude manner in which you are greeted by the "owner" , maybe. Not sure who she is but she is short with people. Do not go to this salon. The only nail tech that is any good is the young man- he is very good, takes his time but is always busy. I had my nails done and the lady who did them cut several of my fingers near my cuticles because she was in a hurry. I asked her twice after being in tears from the second cut to please slow down. Then they began talking in their language when I started crying and when I keep saying my nails looked terrible she kept saying "no, not finished yet, they good." No, they were not good. I also asked for a natural looking nail/color and ended up with a glow in the dark manicure that I am not happy with, the powder color was so thick my nails looked fake. I was also not made aware of any prices and shocked at the price of my treatment. They would not budge on price and the owner yelled at me that she would just cut my nails off if I wanted my money back. Her only other solution was for me to wait another hour to get my nails redone by the young man but I was leaving for vacation. I was in tears when I left. Very rude and unprofessional, my fingers are still sore from yesterday. The owner was very rude rushing me to pay while my feet were still drying and knowing I would need to use pin and come all the way back to salon to keep drying my feet. Throughout my pedicure, my technician was talking on his cell phone (took or made at least 5 calls), talking to other technicians, and 3 employees (including my technician) were group face timing someone at my feet while I was getting scrubbed. With 4 nail salons at this intersection, literally one at each corner, you'd think they'd try just a bit harder here. I've patronized this place on & off for the last 3 or so years since I've lived here. It's been over 6 months since my last visit, and in desperate need of pedicure & manicure - and noticing no line, no waiting - I thought, "what the heck!" Well, I should have known better. Since my last visit, the place has clearly gotten worse. It's noisier, messier, dustier, and dirtier. I really should have just left. However, I did get a pedicure, with toe nails that ended up being clipped uneven and a "spa massage" that lasted about 2 minutes and cost an additional $5. I paid an additional $5 for glycolic scrub to help the callouses on my feet. This left my feet with hot spots for over 5 days, coupled with heels and sides of my feel that were never de-calloused, apparently because that added expense took care of that too. Not! It's been a week, and one would never know that I spent $45 on a pedicure only 7 days ago. I also had a shellac manicure, which I was assured would last at least 2 weeks, if not more. Although expressing hesitation, I did decide to go ahead, knowing it could be corrected - with acetone. Well, big mistake. The "french" tips were not applied well - thick, uneven, unnatural looking. In addition, I noticed a couple chips a few days later. Less than a week later, nearly each nail had a chip. This $30 manicure didn't even last a few week - it needs to come off in a few days. At the end of the day, it comes done to materials & technique - neither are practiced very well here. Moreover, many of my nails developed hang nails a few days after my manicure - this is a problem that I NEVER have. In addition, I still have pretty built up cuticles - it's like they were not even worked on! In all, I was in this "salon" for about an hour. Cost = $75. There are so many better places on the north side, and each of the other nail stores at this intersection is better also. Only one charges more thank Royal Nails. The 2 others offer COUPONS! If there are no lines, just remember - there might be a reason. read more

I am fairly new to the area and have been looking for a go-to place. I have literally tried almost every salon in a 5 mile radius in the past year. This one seemed to be the best so I went there consistently for the last couple of months. I do pink and white and they are usually acceptable, not the best not the worst. They are almost always extremely busy! Which is great for them, not so great for a customer who wants to get in and out. But the busyness is not what bothers me. It's the lack of communication regarding the busyness. You walk in, they tell you it will be a few mins and 45 mins later your still waiting. I get they don't want to lose business but I think they'd be better off asking the person to come back. The last time I went I was on a time crunch, I kept asking how much longer and they kept insisting I was next. I ended up just walking out after 30 mins and wasted so much time waiting I didn't have time to go anywhere else. read more

My eyebrows are ruined. I dont know about the quality in their manicure and pedicure service, but I would not recommend this place for eyebrows. My eyebrows got ruined once and it took me almost two years to have them grow back nice and fully. I like my eyebrows thick and I fill them in with a pen a little bit to perfect the look. Today in this salon they detroyed my eyebrows. I told the lady that I want them to stay as thick as possible and to not make them thinner and just to clean them up. When I looked into the mirror I was shocked. She had not only made them thinner but removed so much in between my eyebrows that now I am having this HUGE GAP. I am literally missing 1/2 inch on each of my eyebrows! I am not exaggerating guys. And on top of it they are uneven. I came home and I started crying, because I couldn't believe how terrible they looked :-( it took me so long to have them full and even and now I have to start all over again. Eyebrows are as important as nice teeth. They frame your eyes and complete the expression of your face. I would kindly like to warn anyone who is planning to get their eyebrows done in this salon.
