I wanted a gift certificate for Mother's Day specifically because I wanted to get a massage from Derek who a friend of mine said was amazing. I schedule, show up for my scheduled appointment with Derek and was given someone else. When asked about it I was told he was double booked so they put me with someone else. Didn't mention it to me when I got there nothing. I should have been notified when the over booking occurred, to be given option to reschedule or at least given the common courtesy of being asked if I minded being scheduled with someone else. Super disappointing especially when the front desk lady acted like oh well, I will put a note on your account you want to be with who you schedule with. I when to royal oaks had a gift certificate for one hour and told them only one hour. When I finished they had done tso hours so walked out later that day they called and said my card didn't go through I told them I never used my card because I only wanted the one hour. They called my son who had gotten the gift certificate for me and wanted him to pay the rest. I told him I had asked for only one hour but they did two. I use too get gift certificate their for my daughter in law and my son also but after this we won't darken their door. Now I know why I was the only one there. Let me preference this entire review with this, if you go this salon specifically ask for Bree for hair or Zoe for make up. I would write a separate review and give both these ladies five stars if yelp would let me! They are the ONLY reason this review is 2 stars. They did the my (the brides) hair and make up and it was fabulous and stayed all night. If you are looking for bridal hair and make up avoid this salon like the plague! They charge $60 using drugstore brand foundation and that's WITHOUT lashes which are $20 extra. We had the misfortune of having Mona present for hair and make up. She gave my maid of honor who has blonde eyebrows BLACK BLOCK BROWS and Mona also failed to listen to the bridesmaid about her how her hair does not hold a curl on clean hair and Mona REFUSED to do her hair without washing it first. Mona also did the mother and sisters of the brides hair. All parties that were touched by Mona had to redo their hair and make up at the Venue. This review comes after how my mother was treated when she went to pay the final bill. She was talked over by Mona when my mother tried to explain how poorly Saturday went. Come to find out, everyone that works there is an independent contractor and you are not told or get to pick who is there for your bridal team, so if you end up having the fix 3 heads of hair and a face of make up because of ONE person who refused to listen there's no refund or discount the salon can do. read more

I give my longtime masseuse, Linsey, 10s across the board. She is 5 stars all the way. The office manager/receptionist is consistently inconsistent. I've been a member for probably 2+ years, and she always acts as though she's never seen me in her life. She's usually (...uusually..) at the desk when I arrive, but more often than not MIA when I leave. Once, I waited as she sat outside chatting with an officer while smoking. After a few times where I had to go looking for her, I gave up and left. I figured they have my membership fee, I tip Linsey independently, guess I'll just go. If Linsey leaves, I leave. They ran off my esthetician a few years ago, I don't think I'll hang around if they run my masseuse off. read more

Booked a blowout, facial, lymphatic massage, & body wrap. What Lisa sold me is not what was delivered. Mona performed the "wrap" & facial. While she was very kind except for negative comments made to me about skin & hair, she was very dishonest in what she delivered & charged. I asked reception to have Lisa call me, then called 2 more times this week to follow up & resolve my experience. There has been no contact, so I am leaving this review. - There was no full body wrap as described. Instead, I was asked to lay on a vinyl heating blanket, Mona brushed scrub on the front of my legs, arms, & part of my chest-that's it. I had to learn in the middle of the service that there was no shower or sink available due to the complaints Mona shared about the business. I was wiped down with wet towels and asked to get up so she could sloth lotion on my body in the corner of the room. I was left with sweat, residue, & lotion all over me. There was no full body application, nor was there a wrap. At checkout, I learned that they charged me for a full body wrap AND an additional $55 add on body scrub instead of the wrap she said it was before the service. -Mona said that she could not give me the signature facial that was on sale unless I paid to have my face shaved - 4 different times she said this - then said I would have to have the hydrafacial if I did not let her shave my face - the most expensive facial listed which was supposed to also be on sale discounted 20% off. She left the room more than 4 times during the service. Supplies used were all over the floor. The suction was sped through & did not cover my whole nose, forehead or cheeks. I was charged full price for this facial & was left with debris in my hairline & behind my ears. -Reception advised me that Mona would also do my blowout even though she doesn't usually do hair (red flag). I sought clarification on this & asked if she is familiar with your Spas product line - super important for giving a proper blowout intended to last more than a few hours. reception responded that she was licensed. It went from bad to worse. She did not know how to wrap my neck. She sprayed my face 3 times - not water splashbavk, but full-on sprayed my face. She complained about my hair having product in it twice (it had root booster & flex hold hairspray by UNITE). I explained to her that is why I came for a blow out to have a fresh start for the week. She admitted to using moisturizing shampoo instead of clarifying shampoo. She left shampoo on the bottom part of my head & instwad of using a separate towel to catchy wet hair when sitting me up, pulled the towle off of my shoulders to do so, getting water running all.over my shoulders. It was at this point that I had enough & told Mona we can just stop here. I'm going to go check out. She followed me to the receptionist & stayed there while I checked out. I'm glad I asked for a receipt so I could be aware how they charged me. Nothing was delivered as promised. I was overcharged & the promotion I was sold was not applied. I asked reception to have Lisa call me to discuss this since she had gone home in the middle of my services. I explained to reception that the expwrience was so bad, I didnt want to stay for the blowout or the massage given the fact that my body was covered in residue and sweat & my head wasn't even properly washed. I tipped $10 so they couldn't claim to have given me a free shampoo. It has been a week & 2 phone calls to follow up. As mentioned above, this business has still not responded or corrected the erroneous charges. read more

My first experience with the establishment was a facial service (which was interesting) weeks ago that made my face break out terribly. during that visit I was charged for an extraction that I did not receive. My second experience was a BAD hair cut where she cut off 3/4 inches more then I asked for and it was really uneven forcing me to return the next day to have the cut fixed by Taylor who did a wonderful job! My third and last experience was a color today (11JUN22) where I know I was over charged ($230 for a balayage color on SHORT hair since another of her employees cut all my hair off a week ago). I absolutely love Taylor and the job he did in my hair however $230 is WAY over priced for what he did and is the most I have ever in my life paid to have my hair done... NEVER AGAIN!!! This is unfortunate as I would love to have Taylor do my hair again however I will NOT continue to return to an establishment that consistently over charges for services!! read more

Rant about a terrible haircut/color and an uncaring owner. I just got the worst haircut and color in my life, from Royal Oak Massage and Salon here in Edmond. First off, it was $260, which I thought was extremely high. I didnt ask the price beforehand, and was shocked by the amount. Luckily I had paid for massages that I had not used, and most of the cost was covered by that. I feel guilty telling someone that I don't like a haircut/color they just worked on for 3.5 hours, so I told her it was good and went to my car and cried. The length is 2 inches too short, the highlights are streaky and blotchy. I called to see if this could be fixed, while I was told that I'd have to pay full price for any color. And there's no way to add length, so they can't fix that. I then emailed the owner, naively thinking she would care. She told me that since I had used "credits" I only paid for a fraction of the cost!!! Excuse me, that $240 of "credits" is all money from MY bank acct to HER salon. After that extremely condescending comment, she told me that she would gladly reschedule me for full price. She said I would receive NO partial refund, and NO additional unpaid services. She refused to fix it and couldn't have cared less. I've never been treated so poorly by a salon in my entire life. To save yourself an insane amount of money, and the confidence of knowing they will fix it if you hate it... please go somewhere else ladies! RUN far away! I was traumatized by Royal Oak Salon in Edmond. After sharing my awful experience with a local Facebook community it turns out that MANY other women and families have been traumatized by this salon as well. I arrived at Royal Oak salon with a nice balayage that was done at a good salon 1-2 months prior to this awful situation. I made an appointment at Royal Oak because I wanted to brighten things up and add more blonde for a heavier balayage. The first stylist who worked with me did a beautiful job blending the root area. My roots already looked good, but I was impressed after he was finished and I complimented his tedious root/blending method. I did have one major concern though, my hair looked DARKER then when I came in! I felt awkward/anxious to say anything and thought I'll wait till I get outside and make sure it's not just the lighting. Sure enough, when I got to my car my heart sank because my previous balayage completely disappeared. I got home and asked my husband "is my hair brown? I am so confused!" He said "yeah, it's brown." When I finally got to speak with the owner she was very kind and said that they would fix the mistake for free. I was appreciative of her offer and I had hope that maybe this could end well. However, I was still feeling disappointed that this situation was going to cause extra damage to my hair. The owner reassured me that they would maintain the health of my hair and they know what they are doing. After I went in the second time, she put me with an "even more qualified" stylist. However, it turns out that he is not more qualified in balayage. This stylist did get my hair lighter, more damaged (spaghetti hair), and orange/brassy but he DID NOT BLEND anything! I can't even put my hair half up to hide it because the under part is horrid as well. I told the stylist that I was concerned about the roots and he completely gas lit me and claimed that the roots looked like the pictures that I showed him. Complete LIE. I went home crying and confused. I called and asked to speak to the owner and she has refused to speak with me since this has happened. She refused to give me a refund in order to help me get their mistakes fixed elsewhere. She gave a message to her receptionist for me saying "their is nothing else they can do for me and Royal Oak is not the salon for me". I tried so hard to kindly and respectfully get her to work with me, to help make this situation right. Haircut was not what I asked for. The environment is INSANELY uncomfortable. The whole time my stylist clearly did not want to be there and made rude comments rather than engaging with me. The nicest person was Jeffrey, who was unfortunately not my stylist, and he clearly knows what he's talking about and educates his clients as he goes. By the end of my service, I was slathered in hair dye (way beyond the expected amount as it was on my forehead far from my hairline, my cheeks, half my neck, and my arms!) and the cape was taken off of me while my hair was still wet before I realized we were at the end. I didn't feel like I could protest that I'd asked for my hair to be short, but he'd only removed 2 inches of dead ends. When the cape was taken off, I realized I was covered in hair that was not my own! When it came to pay, the owner could not properly explain where the price had come from when it was way over what we'd been quoted by their own receptionist. When she tried to explain the price, she listed off the price of services we did not receive! Also, there was an added upcharge that neither of us had been informed of. Considering that my mother and I received two different treatments, there is NO WAY they should have cost the same thing. Owner has been accused of overcharging and being crooked, and that makes so much sense honestly. P.S. it is state law that your MUST check the ID of anyone that you serve alcohol to in your business. Just...no. I came in as a last min appt which was MUCH appreciated. Trust me. My S/O and I both came in. It was his first facial and I asked for a dermaplane. We agreed on a price before hand for my dermaplane which was great. Unfortunately, that's where the good experience stopped. My boyfriends facial wasn't worth the money...at all. It was $145 for a pore refining facial. This was--cleansing, extractions, a "customized mask", and some serum afterwards. Oh, one hot towel too. I was SOOO underwhelmed for him. He still had large pores after the facial, his skin had a weird reaction that made his face swell, and there just wasn't much to the $145 facial. Bleh, what a waste of money. My dermaplaning was ok. I came home to peach fuzz on my upper lip and a few other places. I did like that she gave me a discount for just getting the dermaplane and not the added extras. She saw me in between the mask for my bf...the whole experience was just weird. And we both didn't feel relaxed or felt like we got our money's worth. She was nice and all, but I just didn't feel like pampered one bit. No massaging the face, beck, hands, no different serums and removing them with hot towels. My bf got out of the massage with the charcoal mask half on his face...I get that it's hard to remove, but we spent way too much money for there to be silly things like this happen. There's far too many spas out there for this to be a contender...skip it. read more

Initially I posted a 5 star review but I actually had some concerns and am updating my review. The people are nice. My haircut & color looked good in the salon, but when I got home, I realized the top of my head looked very greasy from the amount of oil that was applied. So, I had to wash my hair (even though it was just dyed) because I had evening plans and could not go out like that. Also, I was charged quite a bit more than what I was expecting. While paying, there was unnecessary pressure to buy products & to schedule the next appointment. Doing this makes clients feel milked for money. Was leaving with my husband on Saturday so I came into the salon to get a body wrap and sugar scrub on Thursday, which would then be followed by a spray tan on Friday. After having the most horrific body wrap I've ever experienced (their heating element was barely warm in fact my feet were freezing the entire duration.... if you know anything about body wraps, high heat is essential!!), the salon then called me after I left and cancelled my spraytan leaving me no time whatsoever to find a place and reschedule prior to departing the country. Less learned, dont trust your special event to Royal Oaks because if you express concern with the quality of treatment you received, they will cancel your remaining treatments without just cause. Edit: the salon owner is making false defamatory statements against me publicly which shows more of the salon owner's character then mine. I offered to pay for my services even though I was unhappy and even still tipped the ladies whom performed said services as the insufficient equipment provided by the salon to perform my services were not their fault. read more

I can't say that any of my services were bad. I had a facial and massage and I'd say they were about average. What makes me knock them down is that my massage was 10 minutes shorter than it should've been.... I had a 1:00 appointment in which I arrived 15 minutes early. I didn't even get into the massage room until 1:00. When she came in, it was 1:09. I wasn't worried about it but when she finished, it was 1:55. That's just something you don't do to people when they're paying $85 for a massage. That in and of itself will be reason enough for me not to go back. Hopefully that was just a fluke. read more

What I booked: Full body sugar scrub + massage (1 hr) x2 Soo let me explain my review. To set the scene, tomorrow is my partners birthday. I wanted to do something nice for her and a massage is an easy win....orr so I thought. I was all excited to book at a place with such a nice atmosphere and high reviews but the service described as 'full body sugar scrub + massage' is 93% sugar scrub and 7% massage which is not what I needed nor wanted. I cried for half my service because I was so upset. I left feeling like I wasted my time and money. I left feeling like I disappointed my partner. I left feeling like I never wanted to come here again. And to be transparent and fair, the atmosphere WAS nice. The staff WAS friendly and even apologetic but overall...I overpaid for a basic service (sugar scrub) and I still need a massage because the back pain I was hoping to relieve wasn't even addressed. My partner also said that she thought it was nice but she didn't feel she'd received a massage which was the point. The lady at the desk tried to help by offering me 20% off my next massage but considering my disappointment with this one I doubt I'll return. read more

What a wonderful day I had at the spa here. First I had one of the best massages I've ever had by Joanna and I've had a lot over the years! It was the perfect balance of deeper pressure, relaxing strokes and energy work. She was very in tune with my body and energy in that moment. I highly recommend you won't be disappointed. Afterwards I had nice hour long facial by Juana. She's very friendly and thorough and the products used were wonderful. I was a customer of Royal Oak salon for about two years, and I thought I have found my salon and my hair stylist (Rietta). I was so happy every time Rietta gave me haircut, high lights or hair updos. I need to mention that I do have my own cosmetology license for over 25 years. So, you should know what that means when I say Rietta was the best in my opinion as a professional in this field. But my happiness was ended when I realized Rietta is not working there anymore. I tried to be optimistic, and I gave a chance to other employee (I cannot even call him beautician) for my high light. It took him two hours to just put the chemical with aluminum wrap. Then he left me under the five-arms heat lamp to speed up the process for more than 30 minutes. Suddenly I realized my scalp is burning so bad that I had to ask someone to call him and rush him to wash my hair. My hair was all in pieces and he was keep washing them out (thinking I don't know what is happening) not knowing I am aware of the damages he caused to my hair. If I was not professional, I could be bold now. I saved myself, and I never going back there. Unless Rietta comes back. My high light was not even, and the guy never apologized to me. With all that being said, the front desk lady was trying to give me complement which made me angrier. It is not about money I paid; it is about the trust that I have lost. I already told my two other friends that she is not there, so we are not going back. It seems like the owner don't know what is happening to the customers. I was their client because of the service I was receiving from Rietta not for the $10 glass of wine or the chandeliers. When I pay over $200 for my hair, I can afford to buy me a glass of wine as well. read more

My back had locked up and I was in immense pain. Alicia had 10 years of experience and absolutely helped me when I needed it most. I've been back twice and going back again. It'll be a new massage therapist but if they have ppl like Alicia then I'm all for it. I joined the membership bc of her. Be warned! Well I went here twice for my hair, eyelashes, and once for a massage. I was so excited to find a place that had so many services. I became disappointed when they had trouble fitting me in for lashes- all lashes fell out by the time they could work me in again. Today I finally was getting lashes done- so excited! After waiting in the waiting area for 11/2 hours someone finally checked in on me. Apologized for the wait but acted like it was not a big deal- 11/2 hour of my time on a sunny day, with a rare day off was a lot of time for me. This was my first experience with Royal Oak and I was extremely pleased with the service. I called and booked an appointment over the phone for an 80 minute massage and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Nicole performed my massage and did an absolutely fantastic job! She was tentative to significant areas of tension and by the time I left my usual problem areas (shoulders and low back) were much less bothersome and relaxed. I definitely received the full 80 minutes of massage and hot towels were used at various times as well, which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend Nicole, and Royal Oak, if you are looking to treat yourself or for a regular massage! read more

I'm not sure I even want to give any stars... I'm really disappointed in how they handled my experience. While I had a pretty decent massage- my daughter did not. I planned a fun evening for an 80 minute massage and added a facial for both of us. My daughters massage turned into a 30 minute massage because the girl that was giving her massage thought she was too thin and just deciding she was done-WHAT?!!!! She is a normal size 120 pound 19 year old! So as we were both supposed to get done around the same time my daughter had to wait an hour on the bench outside before I got done. (The facial was pretty pointless- just a girl rubbing some moisturizer on my face.) After calling and talking to the owner about what happened she just refunded me $20! What happened to good customer service?? She basically disregarded the fact that my daughter was shoved out of the massage room saying- ok ur done.. My daughter was so confused and was wondering what happened! I'll never go back and I will never suggest this place to anyone read more

Wow. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I felt undervalued as a paying customer and I am absolutely in shock with my experience here. One of the receptionists called to reschedule an appointment time--the day of our appointment--due to an esthetician calling in sick (not our fault) and myself and my friend had our treatment cut short because of improper time planning, even after we rescheduled our appointment time. We spent almost $400 and only got 10% off the treatment. ($20 each). I didn't even ask for a full refund. This was after MULTIPLE attempts to speak with the manager for a better solution, who was "unavailable" for two weeks!! Even then she refused to even speak to me in person. The other receptionist was so sweet and did what she could to help me, and communicate with the owner, but the manager refused to help in any other way. Such as, possibly another proper FULL treatment at a discount, something other than this. I still wanted to come back, but on top of the poor service, poor solutions, poor management, poor communication I will never come back here. read more
