Accepting the estimate and paying the deposit couldn't have been easier. The 4 guys who came to do the work shortly thereafter walked the property with us and were careful to understand exactly what we wanted. They were knowledgeable and professional. Everything was done as we wanted, and they checked in with us during the process to make sure we were satisfied. They cleaned everything up well. While the representative (Chris, who may be the owner) who was running the excavator postponed on digging the hole twice. Which was fine, I had no real problem with that at the time. But filling the hole back in is another story. This guy postponed filling in the hole six times. He kept saying he's busy meanwhile I already paid him $1000 to dig the hole. I paid cash and upfront (Lesson learned) because he was recommended by someone else I knew. I also explained to him that I was having siding put on my house today and I needed the hole filled in by yesterday so that the siding guys can put their scaffolding up without a problem. Then he calls me last night and tells me I need to quit texting him and he was a real jerk about it. So to be completely transparent, I lost it on the guy. They came out the next day, on a Sunday! and gave us a quote for the tree - cut it down, haul it away and grind the stump. They showed up in the afternoon on Tuesday and the tree was gone within 30 minutes, they cleaned up all the debris, tossed it on the truck and away they went after chatting for a few and enjoying some cold water. They came back a week later and ground down the stump and make the area look amazing! Super happy they worked with us to get this task done while we were visiting and made the area look perfect after the job was done. Will def call them again when we need more trees removed!

They needed to go onto our neighbors' property to get the job done safely, and they did an excellent job communicating with the neighbors. They came back several weeks later to grind out the stumps. Another tree service said they couldn't get their stump grinder down our narrow driveway to the backyard. But Carl's had no problem, and they left the yard in great shape with the giant stumps all gone. They had to take down the fence and put it back up again, and they took care with that, leaving the fence in great shape.
