My really great friend took me to dinner here and I must say it was lovely. On a Wednesday night at about 7:00 pm the restaurant was nice and quiet only 3 other people. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and if you blink you might miss it. The ambiance is quaint and cozy I believe it may only seat about 25 people. We were greeted and seated. The server was super knowledgeable because neither of us knew the name of our dishes but she knew exactly what we wanted. Food was delicious with a healthy portion. My curry chicken was a level two spicy which next time I'll take down to a 1. ( I'm not a spicy person). We also had the chai tea which was deliciously sweet. Been coming to Royal Orchid Thai for over 10 years. It's been awhile since I've been back and recently ordered on DD. It's hard to find a dish that isn't amazing here. My favorites are always their curries and fresh spring rolls. This time around I ordered their Panang curry with fried tofu, brown rice, steamed vegetables, and spring rolls (Royal Orchid Rolls). Everything was hot and really good, though I did notice the spring rolls weren't quite as good as I remember. They are mostly filled with iceberg lettuce and the smallest amount of tofu that you can barely find or taste. The texture was nice but the flavor was lacking. Thankfully, the peanut sauce saved the day. Still a good spot to try out if you want a tasty Thai restaurant. read more

Went here for a school org office social awhile back. The ambiance is really sweet and warm, very calming. However, the place is a little bit small and also has a take-out shop vibe to it because of that. Even then, it didn't really stop my crew. The waiters and workers were very nice to us despite us being a crowd, and were willing to give us patience when we waiting on others to arrive The food here is alright. It tastes like plenty of other places Ive been to, and it wasnt that distinguishing to be honest. But the portions are huge and I ended up taking some stuff home. Stopped in for lunch and given that it's on the outskirts of town, I'd assumed it would be quiet. Not at all, this place was poppin! Every table was full and staff were running around like crazy. I ordered spicy eggplant with fresh tofu. I asked for 5/5 spicy. What I recieved was tasty, but it was fried tofu and the spice level was mild. So I can't say it's exactly made to specifications but it was decently priced and sizable portions. Overall solid. read more

The Thai food here is awesome with good and authentic flavor. They are a pretty small place, so come early. I usually get the drunken noodles with tofu or chicken with medium spicy. The service is nice and timely as I have never had to wait too long when dining in. One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the area! Service is incredibly fast and the ingredients are always fresh. The Basil Eggplant has the most vibrant purple eggplant (they must blanch it beforehand or something, I wish I could cook eggplant and keep it that purple!). I really appreciate how their stir fried veggies are not over done and still have a good crunch. Don't expect too much in regards to ambiance, there are only a handful of tables with almost no decor, but it shouldn't matter because you'll be too busy enjoying your meal. read more

the place is very tiny. not more than 10 tables, and when we tried to sit away from the one right in front of the door, the server told us that the table was only for big parties and we had to sit at the one in front of the door. the food was good tho, but not a lot for its price point imo. read more

We were in the Riverside area for a wedding and when we arrived on Saturday to check in, our room was not quite ready. Feeling slightly under the weather and with a bit a chill, nice hot soup was the best choice. We found this tiny Thai/Chinese restaurant which was pretty busy. The soup hit the spot. FULL DISCLOSURE: I've only tried three three items from their menu so far. 1. Chicken pad Thai (spicy level: extra spicy) 2. Sweet rice and mango 3. Thai iced tea I give this place a solid five stars. The food is delicious! The service is FAST! The prices are affordable! One thing that I really appreciate is that they put the sweet sticky rice in a separate bag, and put the extra coconut milk on the side in a small container. I really like that extra step because I'm able to store it for later, and makes it so easy to warm up and eat later, and it'll taste fresh. Some other restaurants will put out all together, and it's hard to eat it later without it getting dried out. read more

Tried this place for the first time recently and I enjoyed my curry fried rice with tofu and iced coffee. The rice was hot and yummy but also spicy. I asked for no spice but it still was spicy. I understand, though, that the curry may have some spice to it that cannot be completely removed. The tofu in it was fresh and yummy. I'm bummed. I liked this food a lot but today I saw something I can't unsee. I went in around lunch time and ordered one of the lunch specials to-go. While waiting for my order, I saw the cashier repeatedly put salad on plates with bare hands. Even so after taking customer payments, adjusting tables and, picking up signage that fell on the floor. There was no washing or sanitizing happening at all prior to packing the salad. No gloves, no tongs or utensils of any kind. Yuck! read more

My new favorite hole-in-the-wall! Tasty Thai spices with traditional coconut milk goodness. My son loves all the curries at this location and my favorite is Gulf of Siam. The seafood portions are definitely better than some other local Thai competitors. I'm not usually around for the weekday lunch specials, but I'd definitely try them if the opportunity arises. The actual dine-in restaurant is tiny, maybe 6 tables but one is always taken by either the staff eating on a break or the takeout orders piling up. (There's also an awkward table right in the middle when you walk in used for menus & signs.) I like the food at this restaurant. It's a small little mom & pop place with a nice amount of seating though I always get my food to go. The service is very nice and the short wait is worth it. They have a large table that's seems like a multipurpose table that looks perfect for folding napkins and sporks into a little bag, so there's that. My ONLY complaint is I feel the to go portion is much smaller than the sit down portion for pad Thai so I always dine in to get the biggest bang for my buck. If they could match the to go portion size as they do the sit down plate size, then the 5 stars would be justified. read more

My order was takeout so not much to say about service but the woman at the front was kind. The restaurant was very quiet when I was in but it is New Year's Day so I wasn't expecting a huge crowd. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Royal Orchid Thai. I asked for an order of chicken fried rice no egg. Well they gave me rice and meat. No veggies no flavor, I asked if they can make it spicy. It's completely bland flavorless and literally just rice and chicken. I could've saved my $16. Upsetting since the reviews were high and I'm starving. I'm throwing it in the trash that's how bland this is. I could've made a bowl of rice at home if this was what I was getting! Waste of money and time. Added siracha just for flavor so I wouldn't be eating just plain old rice. And I wasn't greeted when I walked in. I should've asked for a refund but I'm on my lunch break so I don't have time to go anywhere else! read more

Phenomenal restaurant. Yes it looks run down & is extremely tiny. But it's definitely a hole in the wall & a must try Thai Food place. Top notch food that has tremendous flavor.
