A friend invited me to his brother's wedding at Royal Palace Banquet Hall in Burnaby 2 weeks ago and it was an amazing event. This was my third time there and every year it gets better. The first time I visited was back in 2011, the place was new but is was very dull. My second and third visits have been impressive in terms of food, service, and decorations. Every since the new owner has taken over, the place has changed marvellously. It is a fantastic place to party. It can hold up to around 500 people probably. I found the interior quite eye catching this time. It looks much better than my first 2 visits. The day I went to the venue, it was decorated with pink and white, which was simple but made it very beautiful. The food was just splendid and I simply loved it. The Wedding started at around 6 pm and at around that time I noticed the beautiful chandeliers lined up on the roof. As soon as we arrived we were served appetizers which just kept coming till around dinner time. The waiters and waitresses were always available to help and serve. They were polite and happy to serve us. At dinner time there was a buffet ready and set. They called us up by table number to line up to get dinner and that way it was quite organized. Since I was number 4 I got to go slightly early than most people. There were over 12 different types of Salads served and many different sauces and dips to go along with it. I saw Caesar Salad, Greek Salad, Garden Salad, Shrimp Salad, Green Salad and many more. By this point I was simply shocked with the amount of food there was. There was a variety of different meat and vegetable dishes. There was Baked Salmon, Roasted Potatoes, Roasted Beef, Lasagna, Grilled Chicken, and Stir Fried Rice. The food was unlimited and the buffet was kept warm and open almost all night, this was something I didn't see in other Wedding Halls. In my previous visits the food was mainly East Indian but this time it was Western, which surprised me. I prefer their Western foods because their Indian Cuisine was a bit hot and spicy but very tasty. I guess they prepare the food based on the party's nationality. -I have had East Indian previous visits! It has a big dance floor for performers and dancers and we did have a good time and danced till well passed bedtime! Service was extraordinary and everything went smoothly. I definitely recommend this place for your next wedding. It is the latest and the most modern place and it has a very friendly atmosphere and quite tasty food. According to my friend The managers were the nicest people they had negotiated with, they understood their needs and made it so we could have a decent wedding with what little they could afford. I was invited to a Wedding on Nov 3rd, 2013 to this venue by a friend and I was very surprised. In my past party experience I've seen many extravagant places but this stood out in my experience. The Decoration was beautiful and quite impressive. I was really impressed with the gold chandelier and enormous projectors on all sides. There was a touch of gold on almost everything. The Service was fast and excellent. The Waiters and Waitresses were extremely nice and were always there to provide anything you wanted. The Food was simply magnificent. They provided an excellent combination of both food and service. They had a mixture of both Western and Indian food. The food was just right in every taste. It was neither too spicy nor too bland. They also had an excellent salad bar with many different types of salads to chose from. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants their occasion to be a night to remember. read more

I attended Margie and Gavin's wedding at Royal Palace Banquet Hall in April of this year, and it was so beautiful. The venue is conveniently located in Burnaby, and was easily accessible to all who were invited. Catering was provided, the courses were lovely. The salads were so fresh, and the salmon they served was delicious as well. All staff were very attentive and accommodating to the guests, which made for a very smoothly-run evening! My partner and I had such a fun time at Margie and Gavin's wedding. We rented the hall last summer the place looks totally changed. the waiter waitresses were extremely friendly. the food was exotic with a variety to culinary. The food had a variety of dishes with ranging from chicken salad, pasta salad, cucumber raita which met my expectations. I can say we had a good time. On the flip side I though the DJ was little old fashioned. the parking is ample and spacious we had around 300 - 350 people. the security wise the place seemed to be quiet secure. all in all I can say we had a total blast a good value for money I would recommend the place for any occasion and event. read more

Yelp is telling me that 5 stars means "Woohoo! as good as it gets!". Well Yelp, that couldn't be any closer to the truth about the Palace. On April 16th at Margie and Gavin's celebration of love, we were treated to the most wonderful night of our lives. For wedding catering, the food was brilliant, I couldn't have asked for anything better. I'm no connoisseur, but I could've packed up all the food and taken it home with me. The staff were so friendly I wish I got their phone numbers and got to hang out with them on the weekends. I would recommend this to anybody. Good choice Margie! read more

Holy cow. Margie and Gavin's wedding on April 16th was one of the best weddings I have ever been to, hands down. The food was something to write home about, or in this case, write to Yelp about. The salads were crisp and fresh and the balsamic vinaigrette was amazing. The building looks drab from the outside but the inside is fabulous. Conveniently located. Great service all around. Cheers Royal Palace, keep it up. Even though it was a long trek to get here, it was worth it to celebrate the love between my good friends Margie and Gavin, and the staff made the trip memorable. read more

I attended Margie and Gavin's Wedding on April 16th of 2016. The outside appeared to be slightly off-putting; however, the inside will certainly blow you away. I couldn't believe how elegant it looked when I walked in the doors. The best part is, it's so conveniently located you'll find it very difficult to get lost, which is great when you are hosting a large party. I attended Margie and Gavin's wedding. The location is very convenient. The front of the building is very plain but once I entered the building, I was impressed with the way it was decorated and the layout. The hall easily fit the guests (170 people) and the upstairs offered additional space for people to gather and chat - there was a photo booth there! The servers were polite and helpful. The salad, salmon and cheesecake were my favorite. read more

Geeeeee wiz guys Margie and Gavin's wedding on April 16th was fantastic, it's conveniently located, food was great. The crab cakes where amazing. It was the most fun I've had since my GLORY DAYS. I was here on April 16th for Margie & Gavin's wedding and the venue and ambience was simply beautiful! The location was convenient and I loved the feature of having two floors. If I wasn't dancing on the first floor, I was up on the second level lounging. The food was amazing. The chicken was succulent and juicy and the salads were crisp. This place is premium, forget about any other places for a wedding reception, THIS is the place you need to be at! The roast beef was OH so good, I thought I was in Alberta. the salads were fresh as can be and the location is way too convenient, I had no complaints that it was hard to find. I was at the wedding on April 16th and I absolutely had the time of my life. The double floor was amazing and the location was great! The food was also delicious!
