It's been our yearly delivery from this business and looks like it's been sold to new clients. Why I say yearly is because it's very expensive for what you get when it comes to pizza from here. So that being said let's get to it. Ordered hot wings. On the website it gives you a bunch of flavors to choose from but no wing amount. Well we chose hot wings this time and upon delivery it's in a small take out box which once you see this you know it isn't a big amount. Disappointing right there. Turns out it's only 8 wings which works out to $1.63 per wing. Too pricey for my liking but they do taste great. So that's a plus on there side. Next up is pizza bread with marinara sauce. The outstanding consensus is delicious, for the price it's acceptable. Up next is a large Fred Special pizza at $27.95 a pop. Same price as before which is great but the sauce is lacking for amount on pizza and flavor is not the same as before, but that was a hit and miss depending on who was making the sauce. All in all it's just a normal pizza from maybe Pizza Hut in comparison unfortunately. Last but not least is an order of baked lasagna. Nice and cheesy on-top, seasoning is spot on and a typical lasagna ordered from anywhere that knows how to make a properly seasoned lasagna. However the garlic bread received was super greasy, so much so the bag it comes in was glistening in oils. All in all...under new management, we will probably order from them again. Not much to disagree with during this purchase. The quoted time is usually one hour but we ordered before game night playoffs so that might have changed on orders coming in. Can't say much on restaurant ambience since I ordered delivery. read more

I was there last week and I waited 45 minutes for my food and there was only one other couple dinning in the whole restaurant I actually had to go to the the counter and asked for my food to go I swear they were more worried about the takeout orders than they were about anyone in the restaurant .......... read more

"Edmonton's Comfort Food", being an Edmonton kid, born and raised here this is absolutely Canadian. Wonderful chef (the one with glasses) at this location, the best pizza from here yet. This place reminds of a mom and pop restaurant you'd find in a small town. The menu is pretty huge but basic at the same time. Mostly pizza and burgers. Prices are definitely steeper then if you were to order from say Pizza 73 but you definitely get what you pay for. The crust is crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. There is mounds of gooey quality cheese. I ordered the onion mushroom and tomato pizza. It was delicious. The one bad comment I have to make is all that cheese made the centre of the pizza a bit soggy so it lost its shape. Staff were friendly and did the usual quality checks. Decor is dated but place is clean. Overall I'd say it's worth the added price. read more

The meat sauce had no flavour, the ribs were dry & hard and the garlic bread was toast with cold garlic butter smeared on top. Ordered delivery, two pizzas and two pastas. The garlic toast was just heated, not even toasted for either order and the sauce was heavily seasoned, all you can tastes is oregano. This place has only been open since Wednesday, and they're already doing a banging business in pickup and delivery orders. It's not hard to see why. I've always loved pies from Royal, but don't think to go here unless I'm close. Well, we are definitely close now! It take us five minutes to walk (unless Finn walks himself, then it takes a bit longer ;-)) We went over on Friday night for dinner, expecting a harried wait based on what we had seen at lunch, but it wasn't bad at all. We got right in. The decor is minimal, with bright paint, high ceilings, and a nice open view into the kitchen. Unfortunately, they didn't have any high chairs. I have my fingers crossed that they're going to get some, because an extra squiggly little doesn't do well in a booster seat for extended periods. They did have crayons and a colouring page with the kids menu on the back, and Finn loved that. He did, unfortunately, get a bit of crayon on the new tables, but it was bound to happen eventually. Shawn did his best to clean it up before we left. Our server was tentative, but attentive. She made sure to clarify anything she wasn't sure of before putting our order through. Our water was always filled, and that is something I always look for, especially when it's wicked hot outside. We ordered three things: the donair pizza, a classic pepperoni with added bacon, and the kids grilled cheese with fries. Finn loved the fries, but wasn't keen on the grilled cheese. This confused me until I tasted it: they make their grilled cheese with garlic toast, so parents of picky eaters beware. I, however, loved it, and *accidentally* are the whole thing. Shawn was excepting the donair pizza to come with a traditional sweet sauce instead of tomato, but it was good none the less. The tzaziki had a really strong cucumber flavour. I enjoyed it more than most. The pepperoni and bacon was heaven. One of the things I love most about Royal ours is the crust. It never disappoints. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, thick enough to support the ample serving of cheese... It's absolute crust heaven. The sauce is also stellar. It's not full of unnecessary spices or other flavours, just simple tomato tang. It lets the rest of the pizza speak for itself. This is one of the best places to get a thick crust pizza, and I love that I can just walk over and satisfy a craving whenever I need to, eve for lunch. Did I mention they open at eleven every day? Yeah, it's awesome. They're also open until midnight on Friday and Saturday. I thought about taking a star off for the lack of high chairs, but they might still be getting them, and the lovely lady who sat us apologized profusely for it. Now we don't have to go to the Boston Pizza across the street. Yay options! read more

Royal Pizza is still the best pizzeria in town. Great crusts, tomato sauce that is rich and plentiful, topping that are fresh, fresh, fresh! Service is always prompt and cheerful. I'm a Pizza snob, truth be told. The pies are big. When they say Large, you need to clear the table. I go every month or so, you should too if you're you're a pizza lover. Maybe someday they'll also serve thin crust (hint,hint). read more

I've pretty much had all the top pizza in Edmonton . And in my opinion for delivery style you could not beat UFO- until Royal pizza opened right close to it in my area. Now i just can't order UFO after tasting royal. The crust is the perfect mix between that crisp bottom and soft airy middle. Try it if you haven't you won't be disappointed. The guy that works there is always happy and great to deal with .So glad i have 2 great options blocks away, but royal has my business for the foreseeable future :) read more

Ordered 2 pizzas for dine in, service was decent, pizzas arrived at the table and looked like some 8 year old kid made them.... poor quality for high quality prices..... the reason we chose this place was to have a good quality pizza.... tonight was not that case. We ordered pizza for delivery recently and I was quite happy with the quality of the food. The pizza was a classic dough and the flavor and texture were great. It even stayed crunchy between the restaurant to the house. The medium was a decent size and we were both full after 3 slices each, there was 2 left for the perfect lunch. The toppings were interesting in that it included broccoli on the vegetarian pizza. I've never seen that before and it was a pleasant surprise. We also ordered a dozen salt and pepper wings which were quite standard in all ways. The surprising thing was that the total bill was $35 before tip!!! I checked and the pizza was $20 so the wings and tax were the remaining $15. I guess inflation has really hit hard but I expected a larger pizza or maybe a meat pizza to cost that much. I ordered dominos a few weeks back and got 2 mediums and a pound of wings and that came to $42 and fed a lot more servings. Anyways, the next time you want good pizza and got a big work bonus, order from Royal! read more

Took over an hour to get food and it was scorching hot we had to wait for 40 minutes for food to cool

They were open late which was nice and 2e got our delicious hot pizza in less than 15 minutes. Decently priced and pretty good pizza! Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere open and welcoming. We will be back for Sure! read more

Place was empty at 2 on Friday. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a small mushroom, shrimp and Pepperoni pizza and asked for a thin crust. (They have gluten free crust too but no gluten free pasta). 8" pizza with good flavour, lots of topping and probably more cheese than it really needs. Tasted good both hot, and day later cold. The only complaint is the price!!! Really, $18 for a small three topping pizza is pretty out there. Doubt I would go back very often as there are other places just as good at literally half the price. I can get an XL at Tony's with one more topping, which is literally 4 times as much food, for $27. They do deliver but small area and there is a substantial up charge. read more

Slipping. I ordered pick up tonight and was quoted 20-25 minutes. I arrived in 25 and waited 22 minute, which was understandable I suppose as it was around 6:15pm on a Wednesday. The female cook was in charge of two young trainees so she had her hands full. However that does not excuse all the improper handling of food instances I observed while waiting, including touching her ear and mouth, as well as one of the trainers picking up spaghetti from a warmer with his bare hands and placing it directly on a plate. I rated this place a 5 star in the beginning. There have been several instances with communication break downs and food arriving cold. Last time, which has led me to revise this review once more to negative, the the fries were put into a sealed spaghetti container with the tin foil lids so when they arrived they were so soggy and limp. As well as a new driver was sent out without change and forgot the pop. When I called to mention this? I was told that's just how the fries are. They are 4 mins from my place. There have been plenty of times the fries showed up in styrofoam containers and were so hot I couldn't eat right away. They did not care that someone who spends close to 300 a month on their food was just expressing the change in container and information for them. It's a shame too because this place does have good food. For anyone in the area I would not recommend this place. Also they close very early. I recently discovered laziza which has amazing customer service huge menu insanely huge portion sizes for the cheap prices and is only 6 mins from me in Castledowns. I strongly urge everybody to check them out next time you have a cravings for delivery. You won't be disappointed. read more

Recently went there we were a party of 4 and we were the only ones in the restaurant. There were 2 people in the restaurant when we arrived but they had their food already and left before we got our food.We ordered 2 pasta dishes, a donair and chicken fingers and for a starter cheese bread. It took well over an hour to get our food. When the cheese bread came out it was burnt and the cook tried to say it was the Parmesan cheese that was burnt-the was not the truth the whole edges were burnt. We had it before so we know and he would not re do it. The lasagna had a scoop of noodles and they melted the cheese on top but it was not baked like it should be, the sauce was so runny it was like water. Normally at other locations the dish is full the cheese is baked nicely and to die for. The spaghetti barely had any cheese on it, it looks like they melted the cheese in a microwave and again the dish was not full. It was horrible we could not eat it. The donair was ok but sloppy. After the 3 dishes came out we waited another 15 minutes for the chicken fingers to come out so one person just started eating when we were done and the chicken was over cooked. I complained to the waitress and all she could say was "sorry we have to get the take out orders done first" So much food was made for take our before out food even got started. The waitress made it sound like we were a huge inconvenience just by being there. The waitress did not even come to our table to see how our food was or how we are doing instead she left the restaurant and went to the convenient store across from the restaurant. When we complained she did not care so I asked for her Managers name and she would not provide it, so I asked for her number and she would not provide it so I told her I would like to talk to a manager and if she could call her I would appreciate that. She did and I talked to the manager she stated that customers in the restaurant comes first which never happened in our case and gave us 25% off if we paid the whole bill altogether or 15% if we split the bill in 2 our bill was still 72.50. That was not ok. After we hung up paid-the waitress went to the 2 cooks and sat there and laughed at us...Horrible Horrible Horrible experience It was a weekend and early evening and now I know why we were the only people in the restaurant. I would highly recommend not to go to this location in person. I have ordered from them for take out and the food was good so if people order from this place take out is better, takes and hour or more to get it but being a customer in the restaurant is a very bad idea as we will interrupt their take out orders. Go to another location as the other Royal Pizza places I have gone too were excellent. We should have demanded they take all our food back and make it properly but waiting for over an hour we were hungry and we regret that decision. I am not sure who is higher than the manager at this location but we took pictures as proof so we will be complaining higher up. read more
