Got takeout as there is not a great space for dine-in. Dill pickle : 8/10. Not as pickle like as I hoped. But still crust was good. Lots of cheese and pickles themselves were good. Staff was great and made the pizza super quick. Lots of cheese and pepperoni on the pizza but the crust was meh. I'm not a fan of thin crust pizza but it was okay. If you like thin crust this might be your place. Menu looks good and the poutine looked really good. read more

Maybe they were just having a bad night last night, but I was disappointed with the pizzas my wife and I got from them. Normally, they are pretty good, generous with the toppings. Last night we ordered 2 pizzas, both with extra cheese. Unfortunately, notwithstanding that we paid for it, there was hardly any cheese on either. The kids who were working there were friendly and quick. No ambiance of course, as it's takeout only. Moral of the story is to check the pizza before you leave. read more

A friend and I recently discovered this pizzeria a few months ago, and so far we have been quite satisfied with our experiences. Pros: -Friendly, engaging staff. -Pizzas have just the right amount of cheese and sauce. -Fresh, premium toppings abound each pizza. -The prices are just at the upper end of what I would pay for a pizza these days. -The pizzas are significantly healthier than many of the Stone & Wheel's immediate competitors. Cons: -The pizzas could be warmer on pickup: they could use a heat lamp or two in the store. -It would be nice to have the option of a (somewhat) thicker crust. Other notes: Want to try the Stone & Wheel for the first time? Try one of their specialty pizzas! I have tried the Garlic Chicken and Loaded specialty pizzas. They were well worth the affordable upgrade from pizzas with traditional pizza toppings (i.e.pepperoni or ham and pineapple). We will definitely be back. This was a great little pizza place. You can't really sit for a meal because there's only 2 little tables and a couple chairs, but we still ate in! The pizzas are made right infront of you so you can see the cheese get piled on like crazy :D The pizzas are fantastic! Crust has the perfect crunch and chewiness and not soggy. The Stone Wheel Pizzeria is a little take out only pizza place in the Southwestern part of Edmonton. There are no tables here but I think I saw some chairs for customers who chose to wait for their order. My family was out of town and I didn't feel like cooking so I ordered the Greek Pizza. It was delicious. They have found the right balance between Famosa or Rossa style of thin crust pizza (both favourites but why does less crust cost more money?) and typical chain Pizzerias that give you a huge white flour crust and capricious amounts of cheese. In fact I suspect that the main reason I've said that most pizzas taste the same is because all that you can really taste is the crust and cheese. Not so at The Stone Wheel. In fact they have managed to make a thin crust pizza that you can hold with your hand if you want to. The three elements where all there - crust, fill & cheese - but all in the right proportions. The toppings all tasted very fresh and I felt no guilt after eating it as it's all good food. Service was very friendly and there were a lots of staff behind the counter for busier times. The prices seemed to be a bit higher than necessary but then again pizza prices seem to vary widely in Edmonton. The price was not high enough to keep me away. This is my type of pizza. If my review describes the kind of pizza that you enjoy I would encourage you to check out the Stone Wheel Pizzeria. However if you judge a pizza by the amount of gooey cheese covering a thick huge crust, you will might do better elsewhere (and then head to the gym afterwards). I'll be looking forward to trying out other house specials when I get my next pizza craving. read more

I finally checked this place out a couple weeks ago when I was driving home sort of past it. It's been on my list for a while but is pretty out of the way for the most part. Anyways, I called ahead to order without incident. Arrived a little early, so the pizza's weren't ready yet. It's a pretty small shop, so waiting is kind of sucky (so try to arrive right on time). In terms of quality... it was A-OK. Not the best pizza I've ever had. Not the worst. Not as outstanding as I hoped for based on some other reviews. I found it to be a bit spicy for my tastes (I couldn't figure out if it was the sauce or the pepperoni). But I did really love the slightly chewy crust. Overall, I'd go again if I was driving by and craving that type of pizza. But I wouldn't go out of my way across the city for it. read more

We wanted to check out the new pizza shop down the street. We ordered a large pizza- half Loaded and half Garlic Chicken. The pizza was really good. It's thin crust and the Loaded side of the pizza (my side) had a lot of fresh chunky veggies on top of it. I think we found a new place to get our pizza from. The customer service was good. First time trying this place. Pizza is thin crust, toppings are very generous, and price was definitely reasonably for what I got. We ordered 2 medium: 1 was the loaded. Bacon, pineapple, yellow and red peppers, mushrooms, and a few different meats, topped with a generous amount of cheese!! Pie # 2 was a kid friendly Hawaiian. Huge chunks of pineapple!! Great if you go in person, but don't bother ordering through them; the people working there couldn't confirm an order to save their lives. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt by ordering on five separate occasions, but they only ever confirmed an order once for delivery (I tried both through DoorDash/Skip and only had success once). All five times I had to sit on my hands for twenty minutes until a service person gave me a call to refund and cancel the order. The food is good, it's just a shame they don't care about taking anyone's order--especially considering they're way over on the south end. read more

Grade: A- Some of the better pizza found in South Edmonton. My family has ordered from a variety of places (eg. Royal Pizza, BP, Famoso, Panago, Pizza73, Papa's Johns, Papa Murphys, etc.) and when we discovered Stone and Wheel we were pleasantly surprised as to the high quality and abundance of toppings. Also, the pizza is not all bread/crust; you actually taste the toppings and the amount of cheese is very generous. I highly recommend you order and try out this pizzeria. read more

This was a great pizza! We custom ordered pepperoni, bacon and mushroom. This is a thin crust, almost cracker crust but it holds up. (a fantastic reminder for us of Me 'n Ed's pizza in Vancouver) The toppings are cooked on top of the cheese providing a nice crispy-ness to the pepperoni and doneness to the thinly sliced mushrooms. I love crumbled bacon on pizza. We don't have to be disappointed with other take out chain pizza places any more. This is a great local shop worthy of lots of patronage. They claim thin crust, although its a little thick to be true thin, it is quite thin & very nicely done. Good toppings and very very good. My only suggestion would be to ask them to not put the wax paper under the pizza as it traps grease in, rather than being absorbed into the cardboard. Don't get me wrong, it's not a greasy pizza, just more than what I like. Will be back again!!! read more

This neighbourhood pizza place in Aspen Gardens is the real deal. They bring in and slice their own fresh vegetables, make their own dough, mix their own sauce, grate their cheese fresh, and they are happy to customize to personal preferences. Just tell them how you like it. Vegetables are fresh sliced and put on raw - garden style. Nice sauce recipe. Owned and run by a family right in the neighbourhood, with many of the staff walking or biking to work. The quality is great, and the commitment to customer satisfaction very unusual for a pizza place. They have worked out the kinks. Mostly a take-out business, but they do have a few tables for eating in. Before Stone & Wheel, most of the pizza we ate was made at home. Now it seems our recycle bin is stacked with pizza boxes. Won't be going back. Started out fine. Walked over and ordered 4 pizzas, including gluten free. Menu says they can do small gluten free but when you try to order it (for the one person who needs it) they claim you can only order a medium. Not a big deal but the first red flag if the can't get their little paper menu right. Told to come back in 30 minutes. We paid and left. Another mistake. Don't pay up front. Came back 35 minutes later. Pizzas not ready. Ok no big deal. We will have nice fresh hot pizza. We sit and wait. While sitting, my son leans over and says he thinks they dropped our pizza. I didn't believe him because surely they would say something to us. Like admit they did it and give us the option of having them rebake one or taking the other three and refunding that one. Nope. Not a word. It is a busy Friday night. Not only do they not say anything, they didn't put the new pizza at the front of the line. They continued taking orders and putting in new pizzas in to the oven. We sat in that place for over 30 minutes. Not one single word to us. Our 3 other pizzas sat on top of the oven getting cold the entire time. I know I should have said something but there were just 3 kids running the place and it was obvious they had no power much less care about what they were doing. So I stewed until the last one was finally done. Get home very angry and think that this pizza better be the best pizza I've ever had for this night to be worth it. It was not. Not very flavourful, nothing stands out. Was a bit greasy. Toppings were bland. I can't even tell you what it really tastes like because it left no impression at all. Say what you want about the chains but at least you know you will get your pizza around when they say and that their pizzas have flavour. I really wanted to like it. I really want to support local and find that little treasure pizza place. This is so not it. I miss Spartacus. Never going back. read more

We've tried the garlic chicken and the loaded pizzas. The garlic chicken is a bit saltier than I'd like but other than that it has a really good flavor. My friend loved the Loaded pizza. Normally we like Panago but this is a really nice change. I wish they have more unique pizzas like garlic chicken to choose from. The two staff were both friendly and wished us a good evening when we left. It's a small thing to say hi or bye to the customer when you're busy making a pizza but it distinguishes them from other businesses and I like it. read more

I live in the area and started to hear about this new pizza place so, after a long day of work, decided to give it a try. I ordered a large Garlic Chicken pizza as that sees to be their most popular pizza (not usually my type). They said it would take 25 minutes so headed next door to the coffee shop and had a hot chocolate (this is not an eat in place). 25 minutes later headed backed and picked up the pizza.The staff was very friendly and seems to be all family. ordered a pepperoni from them and it was so burnt i tossed the whole thing in the trash before taking a bite. 3 slices had no toppings at all. The pizza was so paper thin that the cheese actually melted through the dough and all over the bottom of the pizza. The dough had holes leaking cheese and sauce all over. The people working were nice but too young to be left alone to run a business. They were 15 years old at best. Bad experience and i don't ever plan on going back unless Spartacus comes back. the pizza here is amazing-great amount for the price, and a deal with a drink and the service is so fast and great too. the poutine is really good but i just wish that there was more cheese and that the gravy got to more of the fries-but there was no pool of gravy at the bottom, so that's really good. overall, great food and great service. 10/10 would recommend read more
