Relying on word-of-mouth, we decided to engage the services of a handyman familiar with our property to complete the task. While our bathroom project was eventually completed, it never quite measured up to our expectations nor our investment in time or materials. Fast forward five years later and our fiberglass bathtub has somehow been cracked and was leaking water on the downstairs neighbors ceiling. This was a no Bueno situation and it needed to be resolved quickly. We made a quick telephone call to our homeowner's association management team, who in turn, reached out to Robbie with Akamai Plumbing. Robbie was AMAZING to work with from the very beginning. Robbie confirmed the cracked bathtub was responsible for the damage caused downstairs. Of course, this led to a discussion of what are our options were. There were many, we could have the cracked portion of the tub cut out and new fiberglass affixed which would leave a scar. We could rip out the existing components and replace it with a prefabricated shower kit (what we had five years earlier). We could start over from scratch. We opted to start over, and we are so glad that we did. Robbie showed us all the things that were done incorrectly during our last bathroom remodel. We are happy to say our new shower is exactly what we envisioned, and we could not be more pleased. Robbie was very thoughtful and methodical in his every action, from demolishing the problem shower, and down to the minute detail of dry wall, insulation, and all those other details in between when rebuilding a bathroom. Also, we want to throw out a KUDOS to Sean and Joe from McKee Tile for their expertise in bringing our dream shower to life. And, finally, a KUDOS to the guys from Pacific Glass for their expert installation of our hanging glass doors and finishing fixtures. The first time was simply for a clogged toilet and while they did come out within 24 hours, they spent more time trying to upsell me on their membership than just fixing my toilet. Yesterday was the last straw. My tankless water heater stopped working and I called them to see if they could come out promptly. The only reason they are getting two stars instead of one is they were able to come out that afternoon. The gentleman that they sent was unfamiliar and under trained to be able to diagnose my tankless water heater. I'll save you the details but he ended up recommending a $1000 part replacement that was unnecessary. Moreover, when he reassembled my water heater, he put a part on backwards that the other plumber I called to actually solve the problem noticed as soon as he took the face plate off. Ultimately, the correct answer was that my tankless water heater needed to be serviced and flushed--far less cost than a needless part replacement. On top of being incompetent, before he even started to diagnose the hot water heater error codes he was working to upsell us on a new $6000 system rather than help us understand how our current system was deficient. When he wasn't up selling us on a new system altogether, he was trying to get us again to join their membership program. Please avoid Ideal Plumbing if you actually want to get honest service that isn't a con job or focused on monthly recurring revenue for Ideal.
