Very clean and wrapped in thick plastic. Sorry I don't have pictures everything was clean and worked Also 4 larger tables very heavy wood plus 2 pop up 10x10's And 16 chairs. The big ice chest too. Carl's did not charge me for the 8 foot table I picked up that did not have feet. I used coasters and Carl's did not charge me for the table. Carl's has been a great local source of equipment in our area of North Park for over 20 years. I am glad they did not charge for footless table they accidentally gave me. Carl's management does need to periodically inspect their equipment and rental items to insure that the staff and customers do not have Thanksgiving diner on a table that can eat their expensive hardwood floors. read more

I used his party rental equipment for a birthday party. Everything that I ordered arrived in great condition. We mostly communicated by email and phone. No high tech website, forms, or even a contract! He doesn't like using contracts, which was fine as long as the rental equipment showed up. And it did, on time. On a lonely Sunday morning, I was forced into action to perform some last minute weed whacking to prevent my folks from being fined by the Fire Department for their backyard being a fire hazard. I rushed to my nearest Home Depot and was sadly turned away because it did not have a tool rental department. I checked Yelp* and found a listing for Carl's Rentals that sounded good. When I arrived, I was met by Carl himself. He listened to the details of my project and disappeared, returning a short time later with a weed whacker, an ample amount of extra line and some wire cutters. He showed me how to use the machine without insulting my intelligence and told me if I brought it back early the following day, he would reduce the rental fee by a good amount. Sadly, I told Carl that I wouldn't be able to get the weed whacker back in time because of my work schedule and he gave me some extra time to make it work. Admittedly, I hated doing the yard work in the 100+ degree weather and strongly considered hiring a Home Depot parking lot day laborer to finish the job for me but, I toughed it out. Carl and the nice gal behind the counter made my day with their exceptional customer service and their friendly conversation. When I get the dreaded phone call from my mother at the end of August that the weeds are back and bigger than ever, I will definitely use Carl's Rentals again. read more

Ignore the fact that there's no curb appeal and find an employee to help you out when you arrive. I talked with three different employees between placing my order, pick up and return. All three were extremely helpful, courteous and friendly. They were mellow, made the process easy and inspired confidence. Was in search of a sno-cone machine.... everywhere was overpriced... and then I found Carl's Rentals. Whew. I called ahead to reserve it for the day. All he needed was my name and number... and then on the day of, i came to pick it up. It's a 24 hour rental and online it says $50 but when i came in, he said $55. hmmmm... taxes? I dunno, it wasn't clear to me, but whatever - I needed my sno-cones! The place was pretty easy to find, right on a corner lot. When i walked in, there were several other people waiting for various other rental needs. I found that it was rather odd to rental my sno-cone machine there because it seemed more focused on moving trucks and machinery.... but it served my needs. One of the guys was nice enough to help carry it to my car. The sno-cone machine worked like a charm and was a hit at the party.... the next morning we returned it and there goes the end of my review. Will I rent from Carl's again? I'm not sure, beause I do have a regular place that I rent from for tables and chairs. However, it is definitely on my list as second choice go-to for rentals next time I'm in a bind. Ordered several tables, chairs and kid's table and chairs for a 3 year olds birthday party. I contacted Carl's Rentals 3 days later to confirm pickup. They had no record of the order, however, the person that answered the phone admitted it was his error and remembered my call. He said he would have to call me back in 2 minutes to see if he could round up the order. 15 minutes later he called back to say he had partial order and could deliver the rest the following morning. Although slightly apologetic, doesn't change the fact that no parent needs to suddenly stress finding a replacement on friday at 4:30pm. Will not recommend or use this service again. read more

Carl was very helpful and asked me details about my "do it yourself" project in order to get me the proper equipment. He was right on the money! You cannot tow a trailer off of U-Haul's lot with your trusted Explorer that I'm guessing YOU HAVE NOT ROLLED OVER !!! Carl's is great. Carl knows his stuff. I'm new to the area, I'm in the auto repair profession and I do work on the side. I went to Carl since he was near and I want to help local businesses. I needed an engine hoist, what I got was a leaking, filthy, unsafe unit way past its useful life...the unit leaked more oil than the engine I was removing.....the control valve acted like an on-off switch. I returned it cleaner than I found it within 3 hours. Carl, the sweetheart that he is, got into an argument that I had only had a minor inconvenience, he did not charge half days and saw no reason for any discount. There are many rental businesses around, I rent all kinds of equipment. I'm going to need a hoist soon the replace the engine I removed....but never will I rent again from Carl. If I could give zero stars, I would. The ironic thing was how he told me as I was signing the contract how long he has been in the business and how he cannot understand how other rental yards can treat their customers badly.......!?! read more

To call a place, talk to their GENERAL MANAGER who AFTER YOU ASK tells you, YES we have Kids tables and chairs for rent. You ask him "do I need to give you a credit card to reserve, do we need a form? what is my confirmation number?" and when the GENERAL MANAGER tells you..."nope just come pick it up Saturday, we open at 7:30a. and tell them you're name...." and then you send your husband and find out the GENERAL MANAGER DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT EQUIPMENT THEY HAVE TO RENT. so, that when you HAVE NO TABLE LIKE THE GENERAL MANAGER SAID HE DID to serve cake, all your kids just end up eating on the floor, on the couch and on the parent's laps. that's when it really hits you that CARL'S IS NOT THE PLACE to get your warm and fuzzy that your rental will be there, just like the GENERAL MANGER said it would. read more

So...Clairemont Equipment was out of long bed trailers. Even though Carls is literally 6 blocks away I never went there because whenever I drove by I saw nothing but rusted and decrepit equipment. I had checked in the past and they are the same price as Clairemont Equipment, which is ridiculous since all of their equipment is new, and, if there is a problem they are out within an hour to replace it, and give you a day for free! The several times that I did call and finally needed to actually talk to a voice of reason Carl was no where to be found. I rented the trailer on Monday afternoon and returned it on on Thur morning yet was charged 4 full days, I found Tracey to be incredibly rude and uncooperative. General Contractors are their greatest clientelle source and I have no idea why they would burn bridges. My associate asked her "Have you ever heard of Yelp"? I will never rent from them again. read more
