You walk away feeling like you've bonded with a gator. I'm not kidding -- I still catch myself wondering how Luke is doing. Then came the airboat ride. We loaded up, the engine kicked in, and suddenly we were flying across the lake. Our tour guide Kyle was outstanding -- knowledgeable, funny, confident, and able to answer every question thrown his way. For my first airboat experience, I was genuinely impressed by how smooth and skilled he was behind the controls. We spotted plenty of baby gators and even a mama gator. Sure, I would've loved to see a few more, but for the price, the thrill, and the overall experience, it was absolutely worth it. We were on the 12:45 tour, so the time of day may have played a role -- but honestly, I left feeling thrilled. If I could change one thing, it would be knowing ahead of time that tips for the guides are cash‑only. We weren't carrying American cash, and Kyle definitely earned a tip. Adding that note to the FAQ or confirmation messages would be super helpful for future guests. First some info- This is a historical place with about 140 years of history. There are 2 tours -…read morethe day tour and the night haunted house tour. The day tour is a walkthrough the architecture and history behind the building as well as the memorabilia that is part of the museum, and is conducted daily between 12pm-3pm costing $5 per adult. The night tour is a haunted house tour where a few volunteers walk you through the haunted history of the house, only conducted on Fridays and Saturdays costing $20. We went for the haunted house tour on a rainy night. Although the tour finished in about 40 minutes even if it was a 2 hour session, we were allowed to roam around the house for the left over time. The experience was certainly enjoyable and thrilling. As I am writing this review, I kind of feel sick in my stomach after experiencing this place. This was my first ghost tour. Many more to go. We went into the cove area and there was 1 manatee that other boats were waiting to see. After one group left, we swam up, saw it for about 5 min before it swam off. That was basically the extent of it. I swam to see one of the springs. But for $500 for a family of 5; I wish there we could have seen others or at least tried to go and see other ones. It also would have been helpful if we could have had an option to cancel if they had tours that didn't see any or really low exposure that day (or been able to reschedule for a colder day).
