I've gotten tattoos from here in the past. Cool place. Nice people from the most part. I tried going in today with my friend to get a tiny little cross behind my ear. We were standing there for a solid minute, and then this girl walks in with her mom and they attend her first. I was like okay let me give them the benefit of doubt because maybe he didn't see us, somehow. But after like ten minutes of them talking, she leaves, and we're still standing there. This man looks at us, and proceeds to leave to the back. We could've atleast got a "I'll be right back with you" or something. A little acknowledgment from somebody that we would be helped at some point in time. But instead we were treated like outcasts. He has the audacity to answer the phone and have a 5 minute conversation. What happened to first come first serve ?? We proceeded to walk to hangman tattoo. I really recommend it. After years of being denied (no one here - and at most places - will do finger/ hand tattoos if you're not mostly covered, understandable) my persistence paid off. Jaime gave me what I've been wanting for years on my ring finger so I wouldn't have to wear my wedding ring every day (emeralds are soft gems and easy to break, did not know that). My friend and I were both trying to get tattooed, one was for my birthday. We went in to set up an appointment with any of the artists. We were told that the artists in the shop at the time couldn't do our tattoos at the time we wanted. that was completely fine, no worries about that. We were told to email another artist and would set up a time with him. We emailed him two days prior. Heard nothing back, I called the shop, left voicemails. Nothing. They did nothing to reach out to us. It would have been decent to at least have heard back, at least saying they couldn't fit us in. Stopped in this last Friday July 1st, Holiday weekend. Spur of the moment request and Frank set me up with an appointment for Sunday. That worked out because I was staying in town for the weekend. Frank did a great job on a Superman legacy tattoo dedicated to my son. It was a very comfortable upscale shop. My wife was comfortable while she waited and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Frank does quality work and I would make the trip from West Sacramento to Placerville just to do any future tattoos at this shop with Frank. My review is a bit different than most. I have a good friend with a full sleeve plus some who practically lives at Royal Six. When I asked her where I should take my four year old to get her years pierced - I'm completely against getting it done at the mall - she said that Frank or Cookie would do a great job. We called to make sure they were up for the job, and just by the phone conversation alone, I could tell they would be patient and accommodating. When we showed up, Frank explained the process and which earrings he would use. He was slow, patient and explained to my daughter every step before doing anything. After he cleaned her ears with alcohol, my sweet little four year old looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, "Mommy, I changed my mind." I took a second to chat with her and make sure she really didn't want it done. Frank waited patiently and understandingly. He asked her if he could still mark where he would have put the earrings. He took the time to actually measure and make sure they were even, as if he were actually going through with it. My little girl loved her "earrings" that he drew on her. The icing on the cake - no matter how much I asked, Frank wouldn't accept any money. He spent at least 20 minutes with us actually gave my daughter a treat for being so well behaved. We met Jaime VI when he was working and Black and Blue Tattoo in SF. He did a really great piece for me. We were very excited when he opened his own shop closer to us in Placerville. We made an appointment on my husband's birthday, he wanted to get some roses added to an existing piece. Jaime is a really talented artist and very conscientious about his work. He really wants to please the customer and it shows. His shop is very clean and I really like the masks and artwork he has used to decorate it. My husband loves the work Jaime VI did for him! Rachel did a script tattoo on me yesterday, and she was fantastic. I wanted it to be in the same style as another tattoo I had from a different artist, and she matched it really well. She did the perfect design and placement without me needing to request tweaks. Very crisp and clean looking. She was also very relaxing to work with. She kept up a light flow of conversation to make the time pass fast, and she dabbed the excess ink off very gently instead of wiping roughly and irritating the skin more. read more

Got my second ear holes pierced after they had closed up over the years. The first visit I made to inquire about price, time, what was involved, etc, the woman who does the piercing was free and answered all my questions. I came back a few months later to get it done. It was reasonably priced, $40, and clean. The care info sheet was laid out well, and she explained it as well if you needed that. Did a good job, and it is coming along nicely. After 5 weeks, I returned to the shop because the hole was nicely healed up, and I had been told that if I came back, I could exchange the very long earrings with a shorter set for more comfort. I was brought back to the area where they pierce, and the woman nicely exchanged my earrings for me. The shop has some interesting things to look at in terms of occupying yourself while waiting. Would recommend the piercing there. read more
