The piercer was friendly enough, and everything looked sanitary. I have over 30 piercings and have been pierced in multiple different shops. I've never had a piercer not tell me when they were going to pierce you with the needle--not once but for both piercings I got. Not much verbalization on what was happening at all really. I went with two others and one of them got a single new piercing but got a set of matching studs, one for her new one and one for her healed one. The post for her healed piercing is so long in her tragus she can't wear earphones without it sticking out so much it actually looks ridiculous We tried going back the next day to see if they could use a shorter post but despite their hours posted, they weren't open 40 minutes past their posted open time.

I've lived 5 minutes from this place for nearly 10 years and wish I had started way sooner - I…read moredon't know why I hesitated for so long - just pure laziness. Which is so silly because making the appointment is so easy through their website. I've now had 5 total piercings at DV8 over the course of the last year and a half on my ear curation journey. All are healing well and I'm very happy with the placements.  Keep in mind the jewelry is not included in the piercing fee, and it can add up quick if you're a gold lover. But if you're getting subsequent piercings, they allow you to bring in any previous jewelry that you've already purchased from them to use for future piercings. Just keep in mind that your appointment may take a little longer because they will need to sanitize the jewelry. I'm most impressed with the detailed aftercare instructions. I was horrified by the lack of instructions my sister received after being pierced at a VERY POPULAR piercing place in Berkely on Telegraph Ave (you know the place). She came with me to one of my appointments at DV8 and said, wow, they didn't tell me ANY of that stuff at the other place. And I was like, I KNOW - that's why I only come to DV8. They are also certified by the Association of Professional Piercers, so I feel confident that everything they do is safe and sanitary.

We were told they would not use outside jewelry- which is fine, but with prices like these? Ouch!! Overall quality was acceptable, but $136 before tax and tip is much too high for a basic piercing.
