I've been getting tattooed by Michael for years now ! And have followed him to this shop ! Amazing tattoos, very clean, and super rad energy ! Not only is Michael an amazing artist but so are all of the other tattoo artists here ! I've had the opportunity to be tattooed by multiple of the artists at hangman and I'm absolutely obsessed with every single one of my tattoos from here ! Highly recommend this business.

After a few minutes Jamie came out to meet us and I could already tell from the beginning, this was THE guy. After getting to know eachother a bit, he heard our ideas about what we both wanted, the price range, & about how long it would take. After agreeing to everything we waited in the lobby for about less than an hour before he was able to see us. During that time we met a lovely individual Aaron who was an absolute sweet heart, also waiting to get another tattoo. She pretty much made most of the waiting time fly by with the amazing stories of traveling down to Costa Rica and Cajun. Just the whole vibe of the place sets up to be a core memory for me. The whole tattoo took about 3 hours for my forearm and about an hour for my wife's tattoos. The whole time Jamie told us about the many amazing people hes met over the 16 years hes been tattooing and got to know us during that time. We really appreciate this experience and the hospitality and even helping up out at the end with the price. Thank you so much and we will be back to add Groau at the bottom to complete the list for me!

He went above and beyond on blending in the additions. I'm getting lots of comments on it already (it's on my forearm) and it's not even done healing! Mason is quite an artist who can make your ideas come alive. He is also very personable, which helps the time fly. And he was very reasonable on the price. Skill, personality and a good price, what more could you ask for?

Which is so silly because making the appointment is so easy through their website. I've now had 5 total piercings at DV8 over the course of the last year and a half on my ear curation journey. All are healing well and I'm very happy with the placements.  Keep in mind the jewelry is not included in the piercing fee, and it can add up quick if you're a gold lover. But if you're getting subsequent piercings, they allow you to bring in any previous jewelry that you've already purchased from them to use for future piercings. Just keep in mind that your appointment may take a little longer because they will need to sanitize the jewelry. I'm most impressed with the detailed aftercare instructions. I was horrified by the lack of instructions my sister received after being pierced at a VERY POPULAR piercing place in Berkely on Telegraph Ave (you know the place). She came with me to one of my appointments at DV8 and said, wow, they didn't tell me ANY of that stuff at the other place. And I was like, I KNOW - that's why I only come to DV8. They are also certified by the Association of Professional Piercers, so I feel confident that everything they do is safe and sanitary.

This turned out to be $25 per ear, which does NOT include the price of jewelry. I picked some of the simplest studs they offered, and those plus the backing came out to an additional $86. We were told they would not use outside jewelry- which is fine, but with prices like these? Ouch!! Overall quality was acceptable, but $136 before tax and tip is much too high for a basic piercing.

It's super spacious, bright, and thoughtfully laid out. They have an art gallery area, a section dedicated to displaying skulls, and even a break room space for everyone. I also loved how easy their website made the booking process. Being able to see each artist's work, pricing, and availability all in one place made it really convenient to plan and schedule time off. I was looking to finish my half sleeve and came across Christian Gonzalez's work on their site. I was immediately impressed and knew I had to book with him. I texted the number listed on the website and connected with Mackenzie, who was incredibly responsive, friendly, and quick to answer all my questions. She made the process really smooth, and I was able to secure an appointment about two weeks out! When I arrived, the whole staff was welcoming and friendly. Christian was professional, easy to talk to, and really took the time to understand my inspiration. He worked with me to design something that would flow well with a previous tattoo I already had, doing his best to blend everything together so it looked cohesive. He made sure I liked the design, adjusted details with me, and carefully worked on placement before we started. I got there right when they opened, and after discussing the design and him drawing everything out, we started around noon and wrapped up around 6pm. It's definitely a full day session, so bring snacks and maybe a zip up because it gets a little cold in there! Christian was incredibly gentle with the tattoo and constantly checked in to make sure I was comfortable or needed a break. He charges $1300 for a full day and in my opinion he is absolutely worth it!! I felt comfortable the entire time and I'm in love with how the tattoo turned out. I'll definitely be coming back to finish my sleeve and for any future work. If you're thinking about getting tattooed at The Skull Museum, JUST DO IT! and definitely check out Christian! Thanks again!!!

I originally went to this shop and got paired up with Grimace for a simple tattoo on my arm. It…read moreturned out really well. So I went back for Grimace. In 2019, I (regrettably) decided I HAD to get a tattoo on my side. I had done the research and knew, but of course Grimace discussed what a terrible spot it was, how painful it would be. Yet because it's what I wanted, he still agreed to do it. I told him I wanted a phoenix and he came back with multiple different designs. I told him what I did and did not like on each one until he came up with the perfect combinations of concepts. He drew it, and it ended up wrapping perfectly with my body. It took 3 sessions (totally my fault).... On my side..... I felt so bad for him having to work with me. For one, I am EXTREMELY ticklish and very sensitive to touch on my sides. So this poor man... Every time he put his hands down I flinched. Yet he worked with that like a champ and made sure to put his hands down to let me get accustomed before putting the tattoo gun down. But after a couple hours every time he picked up the machine to refill the ink, I bawled like a baby. Then took a breath and tried to calm down (not very well) when he was ready to go again. He also had to deal with a lot of stretch marks after having 2 children. After the first session we had most of the outline done. Second session we had the remaining outline and shading done. I kind you not, I almost didn't come back for color. But after seeing how great it looked I couldn't not come back to get it finished (unfortunately for him). Luckily for both of us the color was not nearly as bad (still pretty fricken horrible). Due to me being a little b**** about it I'm pretty sure he had to reschedule some of his appointments to make sure I got done. He never made me feel like poo about any of it. He was so patient and kind about the whole thing. It's been 6 years. Even after the time (and weight) it still looks amazing. I'm still so grateful of Grimace being able to get this done.
