He took his time measuring every angle and every distance around my eyebrow to make sure everything was perfectly symmetrical, and that attention to detail absolutely shows. His precision, patience, and craftsmanship gave me complete confidence throughout the process. Surface piercings can be tricky, so I really appreciated that he never rushed anything. This turned out to be $25 per ear, which does NOT include the price of jewelry. I picked some of the simplest studs they offered, and those plus the backing came out to an additional $86. We were told they would not use outside jewelry- which is fine, but with prices like these? Ouch!! I've been going to Dv8 for over a decade now. They've done every single one of my body mods. The piercers here are all insanely professional. I've not once had something reject, migrate nor become infected. You truly get what you pay for here, and they have options available all the way from affordable to luxury. They've pierced my entire ear curations (flat, forward helixes, daith, conch), my entire nose curation (forward nostrils, septum, nostrils and high nostrils) and my since retired snakebites. The staff is personable, kind, helpful and friendly. The shop is clean and the atmosphere is welcoming and comforting to people of all levels of modification - from newbies to heavily modded. I would never even consider letting another shop poke me. The shop is also inclusive! I've been coming here throughout my transition - before, during and after. The staff has been insanely respectful and supportive of my preferences even when they knew me pre-transition. I've lived 5 minutes from this place for nearly 10 years and wish I had started way sooner - I don't know why I hesitated for so long - just pure laziness. Which is so silly because making the appointment is so easy through their website. I've now had 5 total piercings at DV8 over the course of the last year and a half on my ear curation journey. All are healing well and I'm very happy with the placements.  Keep in mind the jewelry is not included in the piercing fee, and it can add up quick if you're a gold lover. But if you're getting subsequent piercings, they allow you to bring in any previous jewelry that you've already purchased from them to use for future piercings. Just keep in mind that your appointment may take a little longer because they will need to sanitize the jewelry. I'm most impressed with the detailed aftercare instructions. I was horrified by the lack of instructions my sister received after being pierced at a VERY POPULAR piercing place in Berkely on Telegraph Ave (you know the place). She came with me to one of my appointments at DV8 and said, wow, they didn't tell me ANY of that stuff at the other place. And I was like, I KNOW - that's why I only come to DV8. They are also certified by the Association of Professional Piercers, so I feel confident that everything they do is safe and sanitary. read more

I came here back in 2018ish and got my tragus pierced only for the jewelry they put in to fall out within a few days of it getting pierced. I called and asked what they could do for me and I got told I could come in and get it repierced for full price. I decided for the next few piercings I would get would be elsewhere since I felt like they did not want to take accountability for not properly securing the jewelry. Fast forward to the present, I noticed DV8 started to get into more curated pieces of jewelry that do cost a pretty penny but I believed they were worth the price since most of the pieces are genuine jewels and precious metals. On April 26th, 2026 I took my mom to get her nose pierced for her birthday. She's been bugging me about it and has been wanting one for a few years now. I decided to take us here since I thought their jewelry had really upgraded since 2018. Everything went good, she got a tiny TINY gold and diamond stud that cost $100. Fast forward not even two months, the diamond has fallen out and the backing as well came out. I called DV8 and explained the situation, only to be given the same response I was given back in 2018 which was sure me can fix it but we need all the pieces. I asked if there was anything we could do for my mom and was told unfortunately no. I'm super disappointed especially since DV8 has expanded their jewelry department and has even opened up a shop in the galleria mall. I just don't think it's right to make a customer purchase a piece at full price to replace a piece that wasn't high quality and fell apart in 53 days. I hate leaving bad reviews and actually never do but this my second time where the jewelry has failed due to quality of the jewelry or not being properly installed by the piercer. Accountability should be taken and shouldn't fall on to the customer especially after only being 53 days.. read more

I got to say, the ambiance of this spot is so inviting! Most tattoo shops feel like a tattoo shop which can be scary for most. This place has an entrance and individual rooms for their artists. I love that because the intimacy of guest and artist. We got to choose our music as well. My artist was Kara, she is so nice! Her room is really comforting and I love the greenery surrounding the room. She did my tattoo perfectly making sure it was the correct size and looks good on my body. Surprisingly the tattoo didn't hurt at all (I do have a high tolerance to pain, so that may vary). But all in all, this will now be my go to spot for tattoos from now on. read more

My mom and I got stacked lobes for a little bonding time during Mother's Day week. We made an appointment and had Alethea as our technician. She was awesome! She herself earns all the stars She was so so patient with me as I took my time trying to configure the right pieces. They have an enormous selection of beautiful jewelry. I would happily give this place a 5star review except most of the pieces are $$$ very expensive. Like fine jewel expensive.... Like "I could get a whole bracelet/necklace for this price" expensive. So I think sticker shock is part of the experience at this location. But you know what? You get what you pay for. We had so much fun curating our look. Alethea knew what our goal was for today and took into consideration our future plans when she marked & measured our placement. She is a perfectionist and her skill made ALL the difference. Total, I got 4 piercings (2 on each lobe) and so did my mom. The piercing itself was quick and only a 3:10 on the pain scale. By far the best piercing experience I've ever had. The jewelry all have flat backs so no annoying poking in the back of your ears at night. I was expecting to be super sore - nope! I am about 24 hours post piercing and I have zero pain. Zero! Even when I clean them, the level of discomfort is so minimal I can't believe it. I know that it's because of Alethea and her incredible ability to get her angles right and the fact that I wasn't sleeping in super long poking posts to bend and stretch the area. I will be back. Even though I know it's a pricey place - I don't think I could see another piercing expert after this experience. She has a client for life. After having a really unsavory experience at a shop in Midtown Sacramento, I found DV8 on Yelp and I'm so glad I did. I called when they opened on a Friday morning and they were able to get me in by 3:30 PM that same day! The whole crew on shift helped me make some decisions about placement and jewelry and were so gentle, attentive, and genuinely excited to hear about my ideas for this weird little project. I love how transparent they were about pricing and what to expect. Nicole spent a few extra minutes marking out a stencil for the placement of my piercings and took extra care to make sure I was comfortable the whole time - telling me exactly when, how, and where she would be placing her hands and the piercing equipment. I recently lost some of my jewelry overnight, so I was in a bit of a jewelry crisis, and had the most amazing experience here at DV8! I felt a little bad coming in 30 mins before Alethea was supposed to go home for the day, but she was so kind! I got a chance to meet the owners Rick and Jane as well, and they were super friendly and informative! I came in with a pretty good idea what I wanted/needed jewelry wise, and the front counter person (I didn't catch their name unfortunately! ) was incredibly knowledgeable about what jewelry styles and sizes they had in stock. I was very impressed by that considering just how much jewelry they have! Seriously, they have SO MUCH JEWELRY. Everything they have is implant grade, high quality, and they offer guarantees on their jewelry as well. The shop is large, super clean, and very comfortable. They were also accommodating and friendly to my 6.5 month old baby. Alethea's bedside manner was incredible as well, and she made me very comfortable. As someone who works/has worked in the piercing/tattoo industry, I've recommended this shop to a few of my clients, and now that I've had an experience here personally I will definitely send more of them here since I'm not currently in a shop myself. 100/10 recommend. I was pierced by Kristy who did an amazing job. She has a very cool demeanor and is very well-informed and professional. The only curveball for me was the cost. I was expecting it to be pricey but not nearly $200 pricey. I got two lobe piercings and had called ahead about the price. I was quoted $25 for one piercing so I expected the total to be around $65 (including tip). I even anticipated that it might be $120 because of the included cost of jewelry. When I got there I knew I was in for a treat because of how beautiful the interior of the store was. Kristy welcomed me in and then quickly started listing the prices of everything. I felt like I was in too deep to refuse the service which is admittedly a fault on my part but I think they could've been more transparent about the whole pricing when I asked over the phone. The jewelry alone cost $100, $60 for the two fronts, $40 for the two backs. They are threadless neometal and were the cheapest jewelry option for lobe piercings. The piercings themselves were as expected, $25 each, making another $50 added to the cost. I tipped 18% for Kristy's amazing, professional work, which was another $27. The cost for two lobe piercings and jewelry was $177, minus tax. I got my septum re-inserted, which cost $10 which I thought was reasonable. Overall, after tax, I paid $197. Yes, I could've asked more about the total cost but I thought that I had already been provided with the answer over the phone. I had told them that I hadn't been there before and the prices still weren't fully explained. Looking online, I'm given the same answer over the phone that the price of a piercing is $25. Kristy did an amazing job, she was quick, explanative, and professional. She made sure I was informed on the procedure and took me through all the steps of it. The initial regret of the pricing faded because of how symmetrical the piercings are and how cute the jewelry is but I really wish I could've anticipated it so that I could've waited and been able to unregretfully pay what I was charged. read more

This place started off rocky customer service wise, but after my last two interactions here I'm honestly so impressed I'm just gonna write my initial experience off as a bad day. This place is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. I came here to get my daughters ears pierced in October. Their level of knowledge about piercing and professionalism was amazing. My daughter (5 years old) didn't even shed one tear. They made her feel at ease through the whole process. Fast forward to a few days ago. Her ear started bleeding at school. For some reason her teacher took out her earring. I called And spoke with Jane. She was so concerned with my daughter possibly loosing her piercing that she had her come in immediately (despite their completely booked schedules). She took her time looking at her ear going over why it was bleeding, encouraged me to follow up, all for a $10 reinsertion fee. I felt like she really cared.
