The cutest little spot for boba with the nicest people. Located in a little strip mall next to our Asian food mart that we frequent from time to time. I should have updated this review earlier, but I really do love Royal Tea now! I think they addressed the previous issues with the food poisoning as I've been there at least once a month or more and did not get sick. I really enjoy their poké bowls as it is one of the foods I can eat without killing my stomach. I don't get their drinks as much anymore but my favorites are probably the strawberry black tea and Thai tea! There is an older guy who usually has pep in his step and greets everyone when they walk in and I appreciate him and the staff for their work and attitude. I'm glad that whenever we go there are usually a couple of people already there/waiting so the business looks like it is doing great :) read more

The boba tea here is the best I've had in the area!! I always get the mango black tea with mango popping boba and it is PERFECT, they put REAL FRUIT in it which I love ! They let you adjust ice and sweetness levels, I like how customizable it is. Their poke is acceptable, but the tea is the star of the show! It's cutesy inside, they change the decorations for the seasons which is nice. Good vibes. Service is also very speedy and friendly, even though they prefer you order at the kiosk! read more

I'm happy to see boba/poke places starting to pop up in the area. I've not eaten in at this place, and have only ever ordered from DoorDash. It's a perfectly fine meal. The prices are a little high for what you get (tiny shrimp, $5.25 for a small sliver of cake). That being said, the poke has pretty generous portions of each add-in that you select. I've never been left hungry when ordering a bowl here! The ingredients have always been fresh and tasty. I've tried their brown sugar milk tea as well as the Rainbow Ice Cream Milk Tea. I agree with other reviews that it's sweet but, that's how I take my tea so no complaints here. The mix of milk tea and rainbow sherbet is an odd mix that I don't know that I'd order again, but it was pretty! The brown sugar boba layered cake (while a bit much $) is also delicious and worth a try. I'd go to this place for a quick and easy lunch. read more

I stopped here for lunch this afternoon and was very excited to try the bubble tea at this place. Plus it's just around the corner from my place. The shop is a bit small. But you can order at the counter or the machine. There is a sign on the counter about their tea being very sweet. I got a small Royal Bubble Tea with Tapioca pearls. I got 30% sugar, which tasted perfect. It was just lightly sweetened. The cup itself held a good amount of the tea. I can't imagine how big the large is compared to the small. I also got a shrimp poke bowl with cucumbers,brown rice, soucy mayo, and sesame seeds. It was really good. It kind of looked like a work of art with the spicy mayo and sesame seeds drizzled on top. There are so many options you can choose from to mix in your bowl. Overall, I really enjoyed the tea and the bowl. It got pretty busy after I ordered, so the line almost curved out the door and I had to wait quite a bit for my order. Since they just opened, it's understandable while they work out the timing of everything. I'll definitely be back! read more

This place can get a bit busy inside, so order ahead if you can. I do find the prices a bit high, but they're really the only game in town, so they don't have any competition to worry about (yet). They are a great stop for some fun and tasty drinks. The poke bowl is rather large, and I can definitely get multiple meals out of it - I wish it came in a smaller size since it tastes best fresh. A boba/rolled ice cream/poké bowl joint. So I guess this means Highland has finally arrived? Jokes of culinary entrepreneurship diversity aside, this place is pretty nice. You can order from the automated kiosks or the counter as you walk in, or from their website if you're just picking up. I ordered the mango yakult. It was tasty and refreshing, but perhaps a bit too sweet. You can request less sugar in the beverages and I do recommend it because these are definitely some teeth-melting concoctions they're serving up here. And I mean that in a good way. If you've never seen Thai rolled ice cream before, it's pretty fascinating to watch. They pour milk, cream, and other ingredients onto a frozen ice pan and rolled up into a cup. As odd as it may sound and look, you can't argue with the delicious results. I have a feeling this place will do well with summer just starting to heat up. read more

I was super excited to have a bubble tea place closer to home, but I found myself to be really disappointed. I got the royal bubble tea and it tasted like watered down iced coffee. The boba did taste fresh and I enjoyed that a lot, but the royal tea itself wasn't good. Additionally, I bought one of their layered cakes and absolutely hated it. I thought it was super sweet and it was very unappealing to me after the first bite. I think with time, they could definitely improve their recipes. However, I am hoping the next time I'm there I'm not as disappointed. read more

We are so excited to have the place in town! We have only been for drinks and desserts, but everything was wonderful. I can't wait to try the poke bowls! We had the strawberry layer cake, which was so light and delicate! Perfection! The mango smoothie, so refreshing and huge! The Oreo rolled ice cream! It was incredible! All their rolled ice creams are so fun and whimsical. My kids loved it! And a Royal boba tea, super good! I love that you can customize the sugar level of everything! I also like ordering on the kiosk because you get to see all the customizations and options. However you can order at the counter too. Have been here many a time for Boba Tea. My daughter loves the drinks and so do I. I love that you can just order from the screen and add in everything you want and make as many changes as you want. The service is usually quick even if the place is crowded. The place is nicely decorated and you can usually always find a seat if needed. Will be there again. read more

A small place in a strip mall. Cute decor when you go in and was greeted upon arrival. A small menu to choose from and I love the fact they have poke bowls.I ordered a small brown sugar boba drink. Was excited to try it but it was horrible. Tasted like ginger was put in it. Not normally sweet like how other place would have it. I would have taking it back but I was already headed to chicago. The only thing that saved them was the cookie dough macaroons. Probably one of the better macaroons I've had in a while. I also had the strawberry but I will pass on the one next time,not my taste. Been going here since opening, I will always be returning and ordering their delicious boba and ice-cream off the menu... wish they would bring back the layer cakes though I really miss them. The macaroon are just as good though and definitely worth it . Business has gotten busier since opening and there definitely are more younger people (more so teenagers from the highschools nearby) stopping by often and it gets crowded or loud sometimes. honestly isn't a problem at all, location is really great too since there's a asain market next door I love getting my favorite snacks from. Used to be rlly pricey but I found its at a much more decent price now :) I love this place and it's chill atmosphere. read more

Was excited to try this place when it first opened. Quite a disappointment. I would rather drive a little further to go to Motea in Schererville. Tried it when it first opened. It was decent. I ordered a milk tea with less sugar. When I got it, it was sweet to the point it was undrinkable. I told them about the order and they remade it fairly quickly. Which was good. It was still a tad sweeter than I like it but oh well. Then a few days back I was craving some bubble team so I went ahead and ordered the royal bubble tea drink with half the sugar. It was lukewarm, bland, and it felt like watered down dirt water. Had to then drive back and tell them. They remade it for me without hesitation, but still... I think I've given this place a fair chance on the bubble tea. Maybe I'll try the ice cream and poke bowl next time. read more

There was hairs in my rolled ice cream. It was my first time trying it from there decided to give it a chance. First, hair i brushed it off, it happens in food service. Second time I immediately threw my ice cream away. That's disgusting. They should be wearing hairnets. Unbelievable. read more

I was very happy to see this spot finally opened this weekend. They definitely still have some kinks to work out in their management of customer orders and I had to wait quite awhile for my smoothie to be prepared. I got mine 50% sweet (which is what I usually do at Joy Yee in the city) but will decrease to 30% next time - it was still far too sweet for my adult taste buds. I'm excited to return to try their poke bowls and hopefully will be able to update my review with a better customer experience once they've worked out the opening weekend kinks. I usually just have avocado smoothie alone but wait until I gave this a try with mixed in avocado and mango smoothie from Royal Tea. It's totally a game changer. The creaminess of avocado and aroma from mango creates this perfect taste smoothie. And of course adding tapioca is the cherry on top. read more
