    R1. Tonkotsu Charsiu Ramen

When you first step in, make sure to order at the cashier's place, as that is where they take orders. The place is very cozy and nice with a traditional Japanese/Chinese vibe. The tonkotsu ramen was also really good, on par with some Japanese restaurants. Solid pick if you are coming out here.

Pleasantly surprised to find this place today after trekking over the border and finding the Indian place closed for the day. The menu should actually read SHRIMP Fried Rice because yasss! Every item we ordered was delicious and the portions were generous! The restaurant was clean and well maintained and the staff was superb!

Went with one of my dearest friends for some drinks. The service is pretty good. The kids behind the counter were friendly and helpful and kind. The drinks were actually delicious. The smells were solid. I can't wait to go back and try the food. They do have a lot for parking.

I am not a fan of ramen. But my son is. Why not. Been here before when they first opened under a different name. It's good for being where it's at in this area. Maybe I'll venture back and try something not ramen. List of teens working but they were quick and friendly. Space is okay. Nothing extraordinary.

    Brown Sugar Milk Tea

This was my first time dining here and I had a wonderful experience! Service was friendly and efficient. I had the Tonkatsu Charsiu Ramen and Brown Sugar Milk Tea. The shoyu marinated egg was flavorful and Charsiu (pork) was very tender. I want to go back and try each item on their menu! Very nice casual atmosphere!

The ramen was fine, but not memorable. The broth was a bit bland. Noodles were cooked well. Toppings were fresh but sparse. It was an average meal.

Red Curry Ramen with Crispy Chicken instead of beef. Vegetable spring roll appetizer. De-freakin-licious!!

Red Curry was so flavorful. The beef tender and seafood fresh. Best Ramen I've had.

I ordered a bunch of different things so we could try a bit of everything, and overall it was really good. I got the sushi boat for two ($62.99), and I was impressed by how much food it was for the price. It's all chef's choice, the rolls we got in our order was a Godzilla roll and a California roll. It also doesn't mention it on DD, but it includes miso soup and salad for two as well, which was a nice bonus. The fish tasted fresh in everything we ordered. We also got more rolls. The super white tuna roll ($6.49) was exactly what you'd expect. The salmon tempura roll ($7.99) wasn't too heavy or oily. The golden pillows appetizer ($6.99) was one of my favorites. It's tofu skin stuffed with rice and and spicy tuna and topped with avocado. It's well balanced and I wish they came in a larger order. You get two pieces. My other favorite was the volcano roll ($15.99) which is fried white fish and cream cheese topped with spicy tuna. I also tried the sweet potato tempura roll ($5.99) which was way too crunchy for my preferences. I would have preferred it to be softer. That said, everything else was delicious, and I'd definitely order again. I'd just skip the sweet potato roll next time.

Unfortunately, what should have been a special family evening turned into a disappointing and unacceptable experience. When my son and his family arrived, they were told they had to remain in the waiting area. He politely asked why they couldn't be seated inside and was told it was because their party exceeded four people. When my husband and I arrived shortly after, I asked the same question and was given the exact same explanation. However, the dining area was nearly empty -- only two couples were seated inside at the time. Shortly afterward, a larger family (five or more people) walked in and was immediately seated indoors. At that point, it was clear that the reasoning given to us was inconsistent. After I addressed the situation, another staff member stepped in, apologized, and attempted to make things right, even offering a complimentary drink. While I acknowledge that effort, the issue was not about a free drink. It was about how my family was treated from the start. The way my son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren were initially handled was unacceptable and left a lasting impression. Good food does not excuse poor or inconsistent treatment. This experience reflects a need for better communication, consistency, and customer service standards. Because of this, I will not be returning. I hope this is taken seriously so that other families do not experience the same treatment.

We tried several dishes from the menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. One thing I noticed was that the restaurant stayed pretty busy the whole time we were there. I can definitely see myself coming back again to try more items on the menu. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good Japanese restaurant in Oak Park

I was seated immediately upon entering on a Sunday afternoon, but there's only a limited number of private booths, so I was seated at a table that was right in the path of the breeze from the door. I asked if there was anywhere else I could be seated because it was very cold out that day and was told the bar was the only other option, so not the most comfortable dining experience. Staff and service were pleasant though. I also wish they had a full bar, they mostly only had bottled drinks that, which were kind of pricey. Overall, I would return if I was in the area, but it's nothing I'll be dreaming about. Maybe the other locations are more impressive.
