Mega Academy is the pinnacle of a money grab, experts at swindling money from parents trying to build a better figure for their children. Inherently, there's nothing wrong with prep school, but Mega Academy is notoriously known for being one of the most expensive in Flushing, when there's truly no justification for it. The premium you pay for this school comes with below average to mediocre teachers, practice exams/homework photocopied from books you can buy on eBay, and quite frankly an elitist attitude from management. I will never forget the time one of the owners brought in a former mega student and TA, boasting about how he managed to get a job at UBS, as some sort of motivation to high school kids who didn't even know what a derivative or M&A was. I managed to sink hours of my life into this place, learning little to nothing. My parent's wages were spent on photocopied homework that was reviewed the next day by your average DOE high school teacher who might've been your math teacher a few weeks prior. No, your premium doesn't pay for the cream of the crop. It pays for the house and cars of the owners. Rest assured any success I have experienced post-college will never be attributed to Mega Academy. Maybe the best thing to come out of this place were the friends I made, but if I just wanted my kids to socialize, I would've sent them anywhere else.

They have good homework and exams to help students. Their teaching is systematic, you can learn Chinese here up to high school level and up. I am surprised my son can read and even write Chinese characters. The SHSAT preparatory classes are also very helpful. The teachers are professional and experienced. They pay attention to individual student's progress. They are patient and kind too. My son took SHSAT prep for spring semester, summer, and then fall. He has made fast progress. Mr Charlie is an outstanding teacher, he graduated from Hunter college high school, and he is very knowledgable. He studies all kinds of questions from various prep materials and even makes his own questions on different topics. My son just finished the test, wish him good luck. We explained clearly that our son is very particular about who tutors him and that we were trying to schedule with Robert first whenever our availability aligned. We were not saying a substitute was never an option -- we simply wanted to know Robert's availability first and then decide if the available time worked for our schedule. IF ROBERT WAS NOT AVAILABLE, we specifically asked Naomi to tell us which day was available and who the substitute tutor would be. I asked these questions MULTIPLE TIMES, but Naomi NEVER PROVIDED A CLEAR ANSWER. We paid a significant amount for tutoring and did not want to be assigned a random substitute without knowing beforehand. Naomi confirmed our appointment but FAILED TO COMMUNICATE that the session would be with a different tutor. We arrived expecting Robert and were shocked to find someone else. HOW ARE PARENTS SUPPOSED TO KNOW SOMETHING THAT WAS NEVER COMMUNICATED? Instead of acknowledging her lack of communication, Naomi Joedah blamed us for the misunderstanding. To make things worse, NO ONE INFORMED US that the tutoring hour would still be deducted while we were trying to resolve the issue. We only found out afterward. This entire situation could have been easily avoided if Naomi had simply answered the questions we repeatedly asked. Parents deserve clear communication, transparency, and accountability. A benefit of using this location is free parking in the building's underground garage. This second-floor location is comprised of three rooms: - an office for check-in, with small lockers for personal belongings. - the main test room, which has a few aisles of computers and cubicles with privacy walls. Each cubicle is equipped with headphones, to reduce ambient noise. - a unisex bathroom with ADA grab bars. Personal effects -- including phones, wallets, watches, and keys are not permitted in the test room, and must be stored in a locker. As a result, try to bring as little as possible to the test center. I had no issues with this test center. The administrator was polite; the computer, monitor, mouse, headphones, and bathroom were all clean. I would recommend arriving at the test center at least 30 minutes before your exam, to take care of any pre-exam logistics.

The ONLY reason I selected this location is because it clearly states "Free Parking" which recently changed according to them. Understood, but why does your website say its free parking if it isn't? Places like these rely on people being nonchalant when these things should actually be updated instead of being brushed over. Then you're rude to me (Pervez) over the phone and don't take accountability of an error? When I get in the office, he again very rudely says "Turn off your phone" which was inside my bag. As I'm turning off my phone I respond to him "You're being very rude". He replies "I'm being rude? You're not taking this exam here." We go back and fourth for about 5 minutes as to why I'm rude lol, and how I cannot take the exam even though I'm on time and complying with the requests. The owner, who I didn't get his name actually sided with him saying he had me on speaker and I was being rude to him in regards to the parking. Sir, your testing site advertises free parking, when in fact it is not. And when I say something about it I'm told I cannot take my exam anymore. The proctor Pervez also told me they didn't care about my service or my voucher which is what I used to schedule the exam through my company. The worst part of it all is they added a case to my appointment stating I REFUSED TO TURN MY PHONE OFF, which was a complete lie. I already filed a complaint with the company I used to schedule the exam. Luckily, the company allowed me to reschedule my exam with the same voucher. I will find out how to file a complaint against that proctor in particular because I've never received such sexism, and racism. Please schedule your exam elsewhere, and good luck!
