I was new to the Indy area and living in a small apartment while trying to find the exact location to make my new home. I occasionally visited open houses on the weekends, but hadn't really committed to the new home search yet. However, during one of these open houses I met Sharlene and we got to chatting, and I knew right away I wanted her to be my realtor. She was so warm, genuine, and knowledgeable. Her passion to help came across right way, and I really appreciate the folks who you know aren't trying to just make a commission, but truly want to help you. They are hard to find in today's world! Over the months that Sharlene and I worked together, she was always so responsive, helpful, and ready to jump into action if a really nice property popped up. Sometimes a home would go on Pending within a day, so I knew if there was one I really liked we needed to see it ASAP, and she was ready to head out for showings when I needed her! She also sent me info along the way to help me prep for the buying process, connected me with the bank and eased that transaction as well. Once I found "the one," she came to see it with me and helped me to go over it with a fresh perspective. The offer process went smoothly and she helped me negotiate a lower price. When the inspection got scheduled while I was away on a trip, she even showed up on my behalf to take notes with the inspector and make sure everything looked good! Since I have no family here in Indy, I felt like it was having a sister to help me along the way with both knowledge and moral support, which was SO appreciated. I've actually been looking forward to working with Terry Brown for years. Before he entered real estate, we were coworkers. In fact, he was my manager and mentor, so I knew the knowledge, competence, and energy he would bring when I was ready to buy my first house. And when I went to open houses and told other agents that I was working with Terry, I heard nothing but positive feedback: "You're working with Downtown Terry Brown? Lucky!" I agree! Terry was the perfect agent for me. He always responds right away, he notices small details, and he's well-connected. He quickly gained a sense of what I wanted, and also understood when I changed my mind about certain things. He also has a lot of practical points and creative ideas that helped me visualize living in the spaces we visited. He's patient and easy to talk to, and he has a great sense of humor. He made a complicated process easy to understand. I didn't have to worry about anything, which is definitely saying something for me. In fact, I felt confident throughout the whole journey. A crucial part of home-buying, at least for first-time buyers like me, is education. I'd lived on my own for many years, but I had a lot to learn about home ownership. That information gave me expectations and a base to ask myself what I wanted, so I could set out on the search process confidently. To be honest, at the time I was resistant and had every intention of canceling my policy. However, Amy reached out to me and heard my concerns and committed to earning and keeping my business. To be honest, that's exactly what she's done. She's a broker. This means that she represents multiple agencies and works to get you with the one that will best meet your needs. When I first started with her, I was with a different agency that decided to get out of personal lines. We got with a different agency and I likely ended up with better coverage for the same price. I've not had a claim since she's been serving my insurance needs, but anytime I've had a question, concern, or problem she's responded in a timely manner and gotten a quick and easy resolution. There were a couple hiccups when I transitioned to a new company, but she worked through them and made sure everything was good and I was protected. She's friendly, attentive, and responds quickly. She makes recommendations, but she's not constantly trying to sell things and she has a nice balance so she's never intrusive. I'm admittedly a fairly stable customer. While prices matter to me, I tend to be fairly stable and don't tend to shop around a lot. I also pay my bills on time. I'm probably someone who is most concerned about customer service and Amy has been top-notch from day one and has done what it takes to earn and keep my business. I'd definitely recommend her and/or her agency - she offers home/rental, life, auto, motorcycle, umbrella insurance, RV, and Boat/Watercraft.

Ross told me State Farm switched to a percentage rating in 2018. Three other State Farm agents told me that this policy changed in Indiana in the last 2 years. I never knew there was a percentage of the property option. If when I first got the insurance and State Farm was changing the normal deductible policy of all insurance companies, this should have been explained in detail and he did not do that. I asked for $1,000 and he gave me 1% relying on the fact that most people do not look that closely because most agents are not liars. I also found out I could have had an option of 1/5 percent. He never advised me of that. I was leaving Farmers and getting quotes. He wanted new business and he lied to get it. Are you aware all policies with State Farm in Indiana, If you are just now checking and finding out your deductible is a percentage and you were not advised please log on to Facebook, I Hate State Farm, and join the lawsuit. Do not believe anything that comes out of this man's mouth. He confirmed he lied to me when he said you can sue me, but you will never win. It was obvious that others have already confronted him with this problem.
