My experience was pleasant. However I had window tint removed and after the removal my windows were sticking when I rolled them up and down. After a thorough cleaning the second time the window stopped sticking. I did have to push to have this issue resolved but it did get resolved and I thanked them for that I would like to see the workers there make sure that the windows aren't sticking after their work is done read more

Ever since I moved in this area a few months ago I saw this window tinting spot with low prices. My car is tinted everywhere except for the Windshield. I stop in yesterday because the sun was crazy. I'm not a tint expert. In fact, I'm not a expert on anything car-related. So when I finally was ready to get my windows tinted, I put my full trust in Yelp and headed to Royal Treatment. First thing I had no clue about: do I need an appointment? How long is this going to take? Based on some of the other reviews, Royal Treatment took walk-ins. So I called around 9am the same day I wanted to come in. After clarifying that I didn't have a coupon (more on that later...) the receptionist said I could come in around 10:30am. I sauntered in to the waiting room, laptop in tow, and could find no employees to help me. There was a hallway, some offices, and some tables, but it wasn't clear who's in charge here. But I'm cool, I'll just sit around. I took a seat on their big couch and waited about 15 minutes before anyone said anything to me. (Tip: there's a sign-in sheet at the small desk to the right of the entrance when you walk in.... put your name down and they'll get to you!) Second thing I'm clueless on: how MUCH tinting do I want? The receptionist/office manager showed me 3 windows they had on display with various percentages of tinting. The percentages correspond to how much light is let through the window. So, 5% tinting for example is almost a complete black-out. FYI Georgia's legal limit is 32% (i.e your tinting percentage legally cannot be BELOW that amount). I would recommend spending some time on the interweb checking out pictures of various tinting percentages on your specific vehicle to get an idea. I think the procedure only takes about an hour for them to do, but they were busy the day I was there so I waited a couple of hours. The waiting area isn't a place I'd want to spend 40 hours a week in, but it's spacious, there's a television, there are comfy couches, and there's a high-top table with chairs if you're working (like me). During my wait I heard a couple of customers arguing with the receptionist/office manager about their Groupon they had purchased. After said customers left, I asked the lady what was up. She explained that the Groupon was not actually a deal. It was $149 for 5 windows...which meant if you had small corner windows like most vehicles do, that costs extra (additional $15 or $20 per window, so add $30-$40 to your groupon cost). In the end, it is actually cheaper for you to pay their normal price than to buy the Groupon. She said they are simply using it as a "marketing tool", but as you can imagine the customers were not happy. Although I wasn't a victim, it's disappointing that a business who is going to do well anyway (because of their positive Yelp reviews) scam customers like that. When my car was finished the total was $189. They only accept CASH so be sure to bring what you need. My tinting looked wonky, but she assured me that after 3 weeks it would be fine. And sure enough, she's right. My tinting looks perfect now, and I love it. I also recommend you bring some tape with you because you're not supposed to roll down your windows for 3 days post-tinting. I roll down my windows without even thinking, so taping over the window buttons might have prevent a mishap or two on my part. Bottom line: actual tinting service was great! But if you like to work with honest folks and expect nothing less than excellent customer service, this isn't your place. I'm all about quality work, so customer service is just a bonus at places like this, so that's why they're getting 4 stars. read more

Got a new ride a few weeks back and decided to get the windows tinted since the new ride is black. Checked this place out on Yelp and noticed all the positive reviews. So I called and made an appointment the same day. Turns out they're located less than 5 minutes from my work. Guy greeted me as I got out of my car and asked what I would like done. He pointed to his front window entrance as he had samples done on them. I'm not going to say I got the illegal tints, but I did go with what he recommended. I did not scheduled an appointment however, I did arrive Saturday morning before 10:00 a.m. I REALLY wanted to Black-Out and be "incognito" however, GA laws requires maximum of 35%. Went to this place with a groupon. I made an appointment and told them about this. Apparently, this place only takes two groupon per day, you have to pay for $12 tax, and this $12 tax can only be paid for with cash - and this posed as a problem for me since I never walk aroud with cash. Luckily, I had $10 in my pocket, and the guy who helped me was nice but he did mention that he actually lose money when people come in with a groupon - In my mind, I was like: is it really necessary for the customer to hear that? I mean, why did they post through Groupon to begin with, right? BUT, like I said, he was really nice, and when I told him I only have $10 cash since I was not told "cash only" when I made my reservation, he actually took it and just brused of the missing $2. The waiting area was okay. But what I appreciated the most is the cleanliness of the whole place, and the nice old man in the front. The waiting time was no more than 1.5 hour. All in all, I am pleased so far. I received the service about five days ago, and I will definitely be posting an update after I am able to wash my car because there is some blurriness in the back tint, but I am thinking that is just some dirt or smudge. After reading all the helpful reviews and tips on Yelp, I decided to head to the place for tinting. This Saturday morning I came in around 8:30. I caught their Early Bird special so I had $30 off (Early Bird hour: 8am-10am on Sat). I walked inside and was surprised when a lady that I thought was a customer at first greeted me. The service desk was soo unexpected; it looks just like the desk in my house lol. The lady asked me how dark I want to go, and she showed me a small booklet that showed what a 35% and 20% tint look like. The Legal tinting in Georgia is 35% (the law stated 32%), and 20% is considered Illegal. The lower the number, the darker it goes. I decided to do 35% on all four windows, 20% on the back, and 20% for the strip on the windshield (extra $25). Yes, it is Legal to have 20% on the back and the strip. However, if you want to do the whole windshield, 20% is not good. So a 50% or higher is recommended. After signing in, I realized there were 5 people ahead of me. The waiting room is pretty small and the place is old, but doesn't really matter when they have a TV for entertainment. The AC was down so they turned the fan on, doesn't help that much. To make it short, I waited for more than "6 and a half hours". There are no appointment on Saturday and it is a 1st come - 1st serve. I called the place at 8am about 3 times, but no one picked up so I thought the place might open at 8:30 based on the hours on their website and on here. If someone could have just picked up, I would be at the place earlier and wouldn't have to wait 6+ hours. It took them less than 2hours for my whole car. After all, the tinting was nicely done and looks great on my black car. I still have no clue why customers still prefer 20% even though they know it is illegal. 35% looks just right for my car. Although this is a tax-free weekend, I ended up paying $14 tax. All 4 windows and back supposed to be $180, but the Early Bird saved my life and the price came down to $150. I would still recommend this place. TIPS: -Bring cash people! -They do emission inspection ($25), but I believe not the oil change. -If you plan on tinting your car on a Saturday, get there before 8am, like 7:30, so you can be sure that you are the first in line. -They only do Early Bird on Saturday so what about Mon-Fri?. Read all these reviews and expected a quality job but didn't get it. I had the tint applied and noticed several scratches and some little bubbles--I waited three weeks as they recommend. But everything was still there. My friend took it back for me, had to wait three hours with an appointment while they redid the tint. Same crappy job, multiple scratches on all the window they did. I got an excellent deal on getting my windows tinted. Yes, I bought a deal and made sure to read some reviews that seemed legit first before purchasing. According to this company, the deal is worth $350. I paid $74.50. Excellent. Once I arrived there on, yet, another rainy day here in Atlanta, I found that I was the first customer of the day. Great. They went straight to work on my car. The woman at the desk quickly advertised the 20% tint for an additional $50 or so, in which I knew 20% was quite dark. I was weary of going that dark, but I did opt for something a little darker than the 35% that they were advertising for the deal I'd bought. So, that was no problem. However, I found it a little strange that she would not mention that 20% is a bit too dark and could cause some uh, legality issues for some. She did not mention this at all. As for the waiting area, what would one expect? I saw a sofa, table full o' magazines, tall table with four high hairs, and a T.V. tuned into Maury's ongoing "Who's the Father?" episodes back-to-back. You'll only be there a couple hours or less. It'll be ok, I promise. I also received a return call from the company two days later since I'd left a voicemail earlier that week to make an appointment, but by then I'd already gotten the service done. The phone conversation with Britney about the darkness of my windows was... interesting. Let's just say that the customer service is seriously lacking. It was my first visit to Royal Treatment and I was very pleased with the friendly service and overall quality of work. IMPORTANT: If you are on a time schedule be sure and let them know in advance because they are busy and otherwise might not get to your vehicle right away. The window tinting prices are reasonable and include a guarantee. Following the tinting, be sure not to roll down your window for a minimum of three days to allow the film time to dry. Also, for cleaning they recommend using only a clean, damp cloth and a clean dry cloth. Getting my windows tinted was a pleasant experience. It was so pleasant that I brought in my 2nd vehicle to be retinted. However, about a week after the service, I noticed a few small bubbles in the tint. I also noticed the tint was not cut evenly with the outline of my window because along the bottom edge of my passenger window, sunlight shines through extra bright because the tint does not go all the way down. In addition, there are spots on the rear windows where the same issue occurs. The bubbles that I see are the ones that normally go away as the tint dries, but they never went away. They were small and unnoticeable so I did not worry about it. Over the next few weeks, I noticed more bubbles. Eventually my wife began to notice them. I went to examine my 2nd vehicle that I don't drive too often, and noticed bubbles in that tint as well, and I noticed a spot where it appears the tint is peeling. Its now been just over 2 months. Things are not getting better. I decided to call the business to find out what can be done to correct these issues. Based on the way the conversation I had with the gentleman on the phone went, I have a feeling my issues will not be resolved. . . So I moved down to hot, humid Georgia from Michigan and was very concerned about driving a black car with a black interior in the summer. I saw that these guys came highly recommended from the rest of the Yelp community and sure enough, they were very helpful and informative and put my fears of the upcoming summer to rest. I've gotten 2 cars tinted here and had a great experience every time. They are super busy, so get there as soon as they open or make an appointment. I've worked with about 8 different tint shop and less than half did an acceptable job. Unfortunately, this type of thing can't be automated with a machine, so the technician needs to be an artist for really good results and they always deliver here. After returning and demanding an explanation the business owner calmly explained to me that each additional small window is another $30 due to the fact that a whole sheet has to be cut for each of the small windows just like each of the larger windows. This makes sense to me, the labor and materials would be about the same regardless of the window size. The Groupon does in fact state that taxes are not covered. I did ask for the additional warranty protection to be removed and I did receive a refund in cash for the $15 warranty that I did not want. I also find out that I received the carbon tint film which is a more expensive higher quality tint than the regular film. Some research finds that carbon tint's typically cost over $300 for 5 windows. So it turns out that the Groupon deal is not so bad after all. While I was driving around sunny Florida this weekend I did notice that the car did stay considerably cooler than other tinted cars that I have been in. I do believe that I did receive the carbon tint job, although I cannot know for certainty. I did notice that the bottom of the rear window has a few bubbles/peeling at the bottom. I do plan on returning and asking them to take a look at it. I will update again after letting them know about this. read more

I'm not impressed at all with Royal Treatment. I took a 4 day old car in to get my windows tinted. It took me hours to get it done but it was a Saturday and there were people waiting already so I understand that. After the job was done they sprayed my car down with a water hose on the outside and left the water all over my car which was freshly washed when it got there. I've looked around on the internet and I haven't found any indications of what this is for. I can only imagine it's to hide the bubbles. The windows on the inside were pretty filthy. I'm sure this is related to the soap + water mixture they used on the windows but since you can't clean the windows for a period of time after the tint job is done it would be nice if they could have wiped them down a little. It was so streaky it was difficult to see out of. I let this go as well. After everything dried up and I was finally able to clean the windows the tint job wasn't too bad. There were a couple bubbles here and there but for the most part they were small. Unfortunately while I was cleaning the windows for the first time I found that the leather on the back driver side door panel had been cut with a razor or some sort of thin sharp blade. In an effort to cover it up a sharpie was used on it which unfortunately made the situation worse because now there is a dime sized shiny purple spot on my black leather. If they wouldn't have tried to hide it I probably could have snipped that little piece off and it would go almost unnoticed. I contacted Terrell and told him of the situation and he requested that I come down so he could take a look at it. He did and agreed that it happened during the tint job. He then told me a story about how he pulled my ticket from when my tint job was done and found the guy that did that window. He said the guy that tinted that window didn't actually work for them but he was working out of their building and was able to do tinting so they let him do cars for extra cash. He indicated they had a number of people come back complaining of damage and the guy had already skipped out on them. Terrell told me he would make the situation right. He said he knew someone he thought could fix it and if not he would get me a new door panel. He never called me back after that. I called a number of times and it was always "give me a few more days" or something. He still to this day has never called me even though he got all my information. I eventually got tired of it and decided I would fix it myself. I would not do business with these people if you value your vehicle. Superb job with my tint! Nice guys (Atik and Trey- both VERRRRRY cute, too), decent enough sitting area with large, cushy leather seats, clean rest room, a/c- not sure what else people want. I went to the downtown Decatur location, as they are remodeling to reopen the Buckhead shop. I was the only customer, so I was #1. Took 1.5 hours for my car. Had I been the third customer in queue, I would've waited almost 6 hours, since it takes "about 1.5" for each car. Timing is everything. I didn't rush in for the Earlybird $10 savings because I wanted to let the "Earlybird" rush die down. My plan worked perfectly. KNOW your tints, and KNOW what you want when you go. These guys will hook you up any way YOU like. 35% is legal, and it's really kinda light. 20% is hecka sexy, but it's not "legal" tint. Again: know what YOU want. The guys can't advise you. I got out for $189 for all four of my windows, corner pieces, and the lifetime warranty. As another Yelper said, you will WANT to put some tape on your power window control, because you WILL forget and accidentally put your window down in the drive thru, at the bank, etc. I'm recommending my new pals to everyone! This is the worst place ever I got a groupon for this place and they charged me a bunch of other costs because the groupon doesn't cover it I ended up paying $150 for everything and they told me it would be done in 2 hours so I went to lunch and I ended up waiting FIVE HOURS and 30 MINUTES!!! They where incredibly rude the place is a disaster and the people that work there are not professional at all! I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! It is a simple but efficient business transaction . . . .for the rock bottom price of $150, you get your windows tinted, courteous service and access to the following: a waiting room with chairs, a soft drink vending machine, a moderately clean bathroom, a rear projection big screen TV from the late 90's, and a 24x36 poster of the late Tupac Shakur. Staff: Judy was VERY NICE. Excellent customer service. Waiting area: Free Wifi. There's water, restroom, sofa, tables, and chairs and a soda machine. it has everything you need, but its definitely not luxurious. Actual work: Tinting took a little less than an hour. They used Sun-Gard brand window tint films, which are supposedly one the best in the industry. Curing of window film last for 3 days (no rolling down of windows for 3 days) and it can take 3 weeks or longer for bubbles and moisture to completely dry out of film. I'm in the military so I move often, and I was concerned about the various state laws in regards to tinting. I did my research first, but Judy also has a chart based on each state regulation and was very helpful in regards to helping you select the right tint. I brought my vehicle here to have tint removed and installed, about a month ago, on a weekday afternoon. I spoke to Terrell who said they could get it done in 2-3 hours (I did not have an appt). I wanted them to remove tint on all windows except the front windows on my 4 door (not tinted) and then install 30% on all windows. About 2 hrs later, Terrell came into the waiting room and asked if I wanted 35% tint, and I told him no, I requested 30%. I got out of there 5 hrs later and it was dark out, so I could not do an inspection or anything. Terrell waived the fee for the tint removal, since it took so long, which brought the price down from $250 t0 $175. I'm honestly not that upset about how long it took. I did not have an appt, and tinting can take longer than expected, so I get it. But this gets better... For some reason they felt it necessary to disconnect my battery to tint my windows. I assume they disconnected the battery because my seat memories were completely cleared, and I had to enter my radio code to get my radio to work, which typically happens when the battery is disconnected (I've completely replaced my battery before and have NEVER had my seat memories cleared). Why pop my hood if you're tinting my windows. If they didn't disconnect the battery, they did something to completely kill it... again, why? What were you doing in my car to either disconnect or kill my battery, when you're working on my windows? The 'quality' of the work is ok, there are a few bubbles, but nothing major. A couple of days later I noticed that my tint looked lighter than I expected. I've always had tinted windows on my cars and I have a fairly good idea of what the various percentages of tint look like. I brought my car back to RT and told them I believe the wrong tint was installed, so the guy took my info for Terrell to call me back. About a week goes by and I hear nothing. I've since taken my car to another tinting shop and they measured the tint. The other shop confirmed that RT installed 35% tint on my car as I suspected (explains why Terrell came into the waiting area 2 hrs into the job, referencing the wrong tint level), which is not what I asked/paid for. I called RT from the other tint shop letting them know I've confirmed the wrong tint was installed. They again took my info so Terrell can call me back. I waited 24 hrs and received no call. I've called them back and they kept telling me they'll get back to me. I called so many times, that the people answering the phone knew who I was and why I was calling. They literally said that. Another week went by - I heard nothing. At this point I don't want these clowns touching my car to fix it or even remove the tint. I'm sure they'd find a way to mess that up too. I don't even want to mess with it anymore, and I'm sure that's what they prefer. I also assume the reason Terrell took $75 off the bottom line is because he knows the wrong tint was installed, didn't want to say anything, and figured I wouldn't notice the difference, but wanted to come across like a concerned business person and said it was because the job took so long. RT's practices reflect that they don't care about their customers. They just want your money. I would not patronize this place - they don't care about their customers and if you DO get what you asked/paid for, you're lucky. If you don't get what you asked/paid for, they won't take care of it. I'd give these guys a -5 review (like I'm sure others would if it were possible), but that's not an option. I'd love to see this place close down, I don't know how they remain in business, because they don't run it very well. read more
