There were times it took longer than I felt necessary to have the call bell answered. The toilet plugged 2 times during his stay and the second time it was reported numerous times. I would have thought the smell alone would have gotten their attention. Always replied they would tell maintenance but did not seem to be a priority. The food was 5 star plus and the service could not have been better. The programs and physical therapy were good. In conclusion Wellbrooke should be proud of the caring staff they have.

I asked for his food to be cut up, and it never happened. They did not follow doctors' instructions for care of the ankle .He saw his surgeon on Feb 22 and sent instructions to have the wound cleaned every two days then on Feb 23 in the evening, the aid could not get his walking boot on I said I don't think yr suppose to force it on but she did. Then, on Feb 27th I got a call they were taking my husband to the ER in Michigan city because his wound opened and the hardware was exposed. I called to complain, and they said the doctor sent him back that was I was there it was fine . Then she said on Feb 23 that it was open but waited till the 27 th to call me as a result he developed 3 infection s and is on antibiotics IV 3 times a day and required a second surgery . One shower in 20 days, the most uncaring people I have ever encountered, the nursing director and social worker, were as rude as I have ever encountered. So if u have someone there or know someone, check on them ask questions .

The food had its up and downs but was 100% better than what St Joseph Hospital passed off as food. The physical therapists were caring, effective and understanding. I wish I could have stayed a couple more days for physical therapy reasons and although I was insured to do so, Medicare and my insurance carrier Humana decided I had enough recovery. Such is the case nowadays. Insurance companies rule the medical field. Don't fight it...it's useless. Thank you to all that brought me back to life and guided me to Senior living.

After being at Pine Ridge for almost 3 months with physical therapy, she was discharged and is no longer able to do most of the things she used to do. Pine Ridge is not responsible for the decline in her health but they are entirely responsible for not ensuring that the family would have what they needed to care for her after she returned home. They did not provide any assistance whatsoever and did not contact us. They also did not give us a reason as to why she was discharged.
