Walked into Rozzie's Lake Shore Tavern expecting just another lakeside watering hole. What I got was *part "Cheers," part "Cocktail," with a splash of "Caddyshack"* and a twist of lime. From the moment we walked in, Kevin--bartender, mixologist, part-time therapist, full-time legend--greeted us like we were long-lost friends returning from sea. He's got the charm of Tom Cruise behind a bar but with less flipping bottles and more "Here, try this--trust me, it'll change your life." Spoiler: It did. Kevin is the kind of bartender who can mix you a drink, roast you lovingly, and somehow still make you feel like the most important person in the room. I'm not saying he's magic, but I'm also not *not* saying that. Shout-out to Abby, who was an absolute delight and clearly the co-captain of this delightfully unhinged pirate ship. Friendly, fast, and just sassy enough to keep the regulars in line (I suspect she's actually in charge but lets Kevin think he is--brilliant strategy). Food? Solid. Drinks? Strong enough to make you rethink your life choices, but in a good way. Atmosphere? Like your living room, if your living room had better lighting and a full liquor license. Rozzie's isn't just a tavern--it's a vibe, a community, a place where, yes, *everybody knows your name*, and if they don't, Kevin will give you a new one and introduce you to half the bar. Rozzi's is the kind of place that is often jumping at night...some people have given it a rough review I notice. We are from out of town and they have always been nice to us...sometimes they are extremely busy and the waiters / waitresses just don't have time for small talk so to speak...our meals have always been good and the people that work there have always taken care us...! read more

Ordered the black & blue pastrami sandwich with onion rings and the flower power II burger with French fries for pickup. When arrived the bell for pickup service did not work so we had to find someone to get our order. Both the onion rings and French fries had been cooked in old oil so they were black in color and proved to in eatable due to burnt taste. The pastrami also tasted burnt and smoky with very little dressing other than butter on the soggy rye. The flower power burger was thin and more bun than burger lacking any flavor. Neither came with their respective side of coleslaw or ketchup. Overpriced to begin with, which at first happy to pay to support a local business, but this was an absolute waste of $34! ***follow up: we were both sick the entire night after eating little of this food. read more

I got the southern fried chicken sandwich and my husband got the fried seafood platter. You kind of know what your getting when you order "fried" but this was horrible. My sandwich wasn't so bad but my husbands was really bad. He normally never complain but he couldn't even eat it. It was so battered and greasy. It looked like their grease was so so old. We have dinner here once a month or so. I always have the hot hamburger. I know it sounds stupid, but the hot hamburger is always outstanding. The bread is substantial and perfectly toasted, with a little char that perfectly complements the gravy, which is deep and dark and delicious. The fries are hand cut and perfectly fried. I joke that on death row I would ask for this as my last meal. The only joke is the idea that I would be on death row. I would happily have Rozzi's hot hamburger as my last meal. I'd give this place 0 stars if that was an option. We stopped in for lunch with our two kids. We were in town for 4th of July weekend. We were seated in the dining room area that had only two other tables occupied. The place wasn't busy at all. After 15 minutes a waitress came to take our drink order and bring the kids crayons to color on the paper placemats. We got our drinks and placed our food order. 30 minutes went by and still no food. We had to search for our waitress to find out when our food would arrive. We were told it would be about 10 more minutes. We waited another 35 minutes and still no food and no waitress to be found. At this point the kids were hungry and tired of sitting at the table so I brought them outside in the back area to run around. 15 minutes later when I checked back in with my husband who stayed at the table waiting...still no food and the waitress hadn't been by to say anything at all. We left $5 on the table for our club soda's and lemonade and left. Not only is this place dumpy, dusty, and outdated...the customer service is nonexistent. Save yourself a couple of hours out of your life and drive on by this dump! read more

The service was extremely slow on 9/2. It took over an hour to get out food. There's a big help wanted sign out front and that should have been our first clue. The fish sandwich contained the skinniest piece of cod I've ever seen. Don't bother coming here at the end of the summer season. read more

Want there for dinner what I ordered was out so they Said hot open face turkey well it was $15 for 2 pieces of dry turkey on I piece of bread with tator tots and very little grave not worth even close to to a $15 meal. I just ate the tator tots. I also ordered fried claim straps for an app, but that came out after the turkey thing came out. The strips were ok that also came with tots. I did have 2 beers can't go wrong or mess up that, and the bill was $50 for 2 beers, some clam strips, and a nasty what they call hot turkey meal very disappointed. They seem to cater to their normal local people. All good thing I can say is my sever was great she was very nice and polite she was working very hard. This is a locals bar, to the people with the long blah blah reviews. It's on the lake, but not perfect for you as you expect, because it's on the lake. Everyone is nice. Food is OK. Service sucks. Been here a few times. Most of the time you will stand there waiting for a table when it's not busy. They look at you and walk past.. no acknowledgment. Want to come for a beer? You will sit at the bar waiting for someone to take a order from you. The longest time I waited for someone to greet me at the bar for a beer? 30 min and there were only about 5 people at the bar then. Avg time seems about 5 to 10 min. One waitress there is really good. Tiny girl with glasses. Always seems very attentive to everyone. Everyone else seems to want to servevtheor friends and kind of ignores everyone else. 3 stars is very generous, but im not a mean guy. Management needs to discipline or motivate their bartenders and servers. Gove that tiny girl with glasses all the tips. Noone else really deserves them. read more

This is a charming tavern with a real cozy feel. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. There is a long bar and some tables as you enter, or go up a few short steps where there are some more tables that have a view of Lake Champlain. All around the tavern are decorations with a lakeside theme: boats, photos, and many ducks! As for the food, the burgers are out of this world! They have over 30 different burgers on the menu! Great onion rings and tasty fries. And their loaded Nachos are the best I've ever tasted! There is something for everyone; delicious soups (the French onion is wonderful), salads (try the grilled chicken Caesar, to die for!), all kinds of sandwiches (hot and cold), wraps, and always daily specials. Had a great meal here this week! Had the cheesesteak and a side salad. Both were great. Not the best of either I've ever had, but both were really good and hit the spot. Bartended recommended the fiddlehead IPA and it was amazing. Local IPA I will look for in the future. read more

This is a great restaurant for burgers. There hamburgers are fresh-ground, quality beef, served on a high-quality roll. French fries were great. My hamburger was perfectly cooked and served exactly as ordered. Service on a busy Sunday night (6:30 to 7:30) was very good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Rozzi's is a "family-friendly" tavern and at busy times is can be a bit noisy. Good value for the money. We visit during our summer vacation in VT. I truly feel ripped off!! Just picked up take out dinner from Rozzi's. Ordered the fried chicken dinner which is supposed to come with mashed potatoes, veggie and salad. Also ordered the 12 gauge duck wings and the chicken cordon blue balls. Apparently this restaurant is too cheap to ever change their oil...or just has a lazy kitchen staff! The duck wings and the fried chicken were disgusting! Fried black...tasteless breading dripping in bad oil! Yet the chicken balls were not black??? The "mashed potatoes" looked like somebody took a fork and mashed up a left over old baked potato...but I don't think they even serve baked potatoes??? They left my veggie out entirely! I had actually called the restaurant to inquire what the veggie was tonight because I particularly love veggies...so to find none even though I paid for them was yet another disappointment! Since the wings and fried chicken was not edible that was a $21.00 direct loss! I do not recommend that anyone that has good taste go here! If you just want to drink...maybe!! You would think that a restaurant on the bay would serve fresh fish and shrimp and clams in their fried seafood platter, but not so. The fish was a processed, breaded "log" of fish (obviously one of those frozen "fish stick" type things), and everything was overly breaded. The shrimp were tiny, made to look large by thick, doughy breading. The fries were made from frozen as well, and the coleslaw was ... I'll call it "uninviting" to be kind. It appears to be a great bar hangout but from my experience that's all it is. read more
