A Classic American comfort steak and seafood house. It's a pretty big restaurant so we were able to get a last minute Saturday night reservation. Prime rib was just about perfect. Great food, drinks, and service...that's all you could ask for.

Would recommend this south Burlington spot. Lindsey R was my server and she ROCKED! This adorable older couple near me gushed to her at the end of their meal about how great her service was and I agree! I was originally led to a table on the upper level and it was VERY bright (early bird special vibes - not that there's anything wrong w that). I asked if I could sit in the lower level. Typically that is mostly 4 person booths, but there was a half booth available to my delight. I had a draft beer (Hill Farmstead!), margarita, and a glass of Chianti (recommended by Lindsey) to go with my steak. Food Oysters - 4 oyster are $14 (the 4/14 on the menu made me think there were two size options - lol). Very decent. Sirloin au poivre - cooked well, nice cut. Spinach and frites listed on menu are part of the sauce/toppings, and it comes with choice of a side. Cheers in

Windjammer is always good. I go with a group once in a while for lunch. They are great about seating us, food is pretty consistent and staff is friendly. Parking is never an issue and they can handle large groups. I see a lot of the same staff so I think they are treated well which is important to me. I think a lot of people think of them for the special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries etc) but I honestly tend to go only when someone else suggests it. I find since the salad bar went away the value isn't as good. For example ordering a chicken breast or steak you get a starch. It used to include a trip to salad boat (which no longer exists). I understand the cost changes and staffing issues, but give me something green on the plate. Steamed broccoli or green beans or sautéed zucchini. For a steak/seafood restaurant I would expect a more balanced plate. Now you can pay extra for a side of veggies to balance out. That being said I have found my go to for lunch. The Rueben is good, and I love the Asian and wedge salads. $14 without protein, but still is satisfying. They are also one of the places adding a kitchen service fee of 1.5%. I wish it was just built in to cost of food since it's not an option.

My wife's dish, a prime rib sandwich. She said it was very good. The Au Jus sauce was amazing.

I strongly suggest the bacon wrapped scallops. My wife got the French onion soup as an appetizer, and I got the scallops. Although there's nothing wrong with the soup, it was just not our cup of "soup". We sat at the bar with two bartenders on the upper deck. The one older gentleman should be fired. But the local patron seemed to really like him that's probably why they had a second one to back him up. I do not ever order shepherds pie when I am out for dinner. Simply because I run into more bad than good versions of my favorite dish. I have today my hats off to whoever cooked that shepherds pie. I dare say the best one I've ever had. As far as the bacon wrapped scallops, they are in a close contention for my second favorite ones ever. The restaurant, including the bathrooms, were very clean. I would appreciated the fact that all the workers, other than the older bartender, were great.

My friends and I stopped by Windjammer after a swim practice. We were deliriously hungry and enjoyed the food here. Our waitress was friendly and funny, and the unique environment made the dining experience memorable. We all got the prime rib, which was a little chewy for me but overall solid. The appetizers were great and there are many options.

Professional staff with outstanding food and good selection on the menu. Nice nautical theme but a bit noisy atmosphere. Enjoyable and recommended!

As you can see a great time was had by our whole group!

Sitting outside gave us a gorgeous view of the waterfront, and the round tables with deck chairs were comfortable and perfect for letting everyone in our party talk to each other. I shared the lobster roll and fish and chips, and both were prepared well and came with a generous amount of french fries. The lobster roll was marked as market price ($34 when we went) and was about 3oz of lobster meat. It wasn't the largest restaurant markup I've seen, but it also wasn't a great deal. The fish and chips was a fish filet covered in bread crumbs instead of the usual thick batter. It felt similar to fish sticks was a good balance of tender on the inside and seasoned on the outside. I would come again for the lovely views and to try their other menu items. A few members of our party got tacos which looked good.

Part of our reason for a return visit was the outstanding service provided to us by Molly. We felt double spoiled by having her be our server for dinner. The setting was delightful. Both times we got a great table by the window with fabulous views of the harbor and Lake Champlain. The vibe is relaxed, warm, and charming. No frills. The focus is on the food and the view. The food was really good. For lunch we shared a lobster roll. Now I know that there is a lot of controversy on what makes an "authentic" lobster roll. My take on having them in just about every state from Maine to Florida and and few tasty ones in my inland location. This one tasted good to me - lots of lobster, not too much mayo, fresh soft bun and some nice romaine for some crunch. They made me a lovely Cranberry Mule mocktail to sip on during the meal. For dinner my husband had the Crab Cake and I had the Shrimp Scampi. Both were quite good and the fish tasted fresh. We finished off with a decadent Key Lime Pie. Next time we are in the Burlington area, this will definitely be worth a return visit.

They helped take our coats/hang them for us. We were always closely attended to and given time if more was needed. The homemade pasta dish we got with greens and mushrooms was fantastic! My bf liked the shrimp appetizer/smaller dish and we all liked the trout, but it seemed a little mushy/overcooked. Cons: loud/bad acoustics, dim, portion size(only for one specific dish) A little hard to hear inside when it's at peak capacity. Was at dinner with a group of four and it was quite hard to hear the person diagonally across from me the entire night. Lighting was a little too dim for my personal liking but others may not mind(for example, it was darker inside than it was outside at 6pm). Food was overall very good. The disappointments were a clam dish we couldn't even first find any clams in and then the two people who got them when we divided up the dish only got two each! And the side greens, seemed overcooked and were over-salted. Would definitely try it again would recommend to others.

Called and the woman last week asked which lobster roll I wanted as service workers do. They're trained in operations, and options, the customer isn't. The woman today admitted that when you click the lobster roll icon it shows an option and she chose not to ask just assume. Especially when ordering over the phone, before last week I haven't gotten an order for some number of months so I didn't remember there was even an option until I open my order and it's wrong. Acting like the customer is the issue after just assuming every customer wants mayo is insane. when she saw the options buttons- and thought well because we "see thousands of people a week and that's what most want" what kind of business model is that? the customer is not trained or paid to know. They argued around and around about that. Funny enough after looking online most people (New Englanders) seem to like hot and buttered more. Guess it was just the egotistical ladies. I was busy in the middle of something placing the order I always do I felt like something was missing but couldn't think of what. Again ordered last week and the young worker asked butter or mayo. I ordered 3 lobster rolls and a sm wedge. Get home and it's mayo. Nothing I will eat. I call and explain and they continue arguing we see thousands of people a week and most people want mayo. Raised their voices and then hung up on me. I called back and talked to someone else who said she wasn't the same person but sounded the same and continues to argue the same thing and hang up on me again. I looked forward to today, it was alright last week but I ordered no pickle this time because it tasted like bleach and couldn't even swallow it tasted like chemical so heavy. Even after that I still went back today because the buttered lobster roll was good. I asked for a refund and the woman said "I'll do it this time but" no but. It was the businesses mess up and then to continue repeating that and raising their voice. I've been a returning customer and mentioned return revenue and they got even more upset. They argue it's the young generation but the younger ones did her job correctly. 2 Middle Aged women were highly unprofessional after already messing up. Took a $25 uber originally told them that when they said well you can come back then was told that again. I kept redirecting them and saying at this point I just want a refund I don't want to hear the same argument again. And I was told "we don't want to hear what you're saying either" I just called back and said I would be disputing the charge (FOR THE FOOD I CANT EAT AND HAD TO DEAL WITH BEING TREATED THAT WAY), Also making a complaint to the Better business bureau. And posting this review. The woman kept acting like she couldn't hear me and at the end when I said you can act like you don't hear but just understand these things are happening she said ok. Insane. These folks need a vacation and more training. Less bleach taste in the pickles, and more asking which option the individual wants and is going to pay for. Like the younger worker did last week when I ordered. Asked for the owners number after all that because their employees need more training and someone should handle it properly even though I've already taken steps now. Because, I was told I spoke with the owner. Another lie and psy-op I'm sure. This will all be in the office of professional regulation notes and better business bureau reports.
