R's ambitious staff wins its customers one by one, learns what they like and gives them plenty of it, from prepared foods to shelves and freezers filled with good taste. They work with local specialty vendors like Amazing Grains. When I found them I realized their prices are reasonable given the quality and artful choices. R's Market is an awesome independent grocer/market in Brighton, NY. It's a welcome part of the community, as other than Wegmans and a couple of delis, I am not aware of too many locally owned grocers where you can buy a variety of quality products and basic staples. The decor inside is great and they offer some really nice items, including Flour City Pasta and fresh meat. It's a great place to do a little extra shopping if you're in the neighborhood. Although small, this is definitely a more pleasant and enjoyable place (and again, locally owned!) to do some shopping compared to CVS Pharmacy or various convenience marts in the vicinity. Customer service is alive and well here! The BEST sausage, rather you like it spicy or mild, stuffed mushrooms are heavenly! Stitzel!!! Fresh produce, sauces snacks. And always something new to try and love! It's a must do for anyone who like quality and loves to eat!! And O M G! their chicken parmesan meatballs! What happened to all of my check ins? Well, when the original R's sold, was renamed and then sold again, so I guess the Yelp listing got a reboot. Whatever... it's good to see that the new owners of R's has sought to keep the good and try to update thew basic concept of R's Market to differentiate themselves from their larger competition down the road. Great meats, great selection of beers and local sodas (Fiz!), Pierogi Guy pierogis, Sweet Sammi Jane's bakery items and... Amazing Grains! Now that I'm a "regular" I guess I'll have to check in more, which I will certainly do (my kids gave me an R's gift certificate for Xmas, which will certainly help!). read more

R's Market is back! It never truly left, but I'm glad it's still here. R's is one of my go-to stops to grab meat from the butcher. It's a convenient stop on the way home from the gym so we always have something good for dinner. It's a small market, but they carry the basics if you need to grab essentials for a homecooked meal. They feature a lot of local products, notably THE salty bread from Amazing Grains, Guglielmo's Sauce, Stuart's Spices, and more. They have beer on tap so bring your growlers and a solid cooler selection too. From the butcher, I'll grab whatever looks good. Their strip steaks are a favorite of mine. I also love the slab bacon. Ground chuck/sirloin for meatballs. Pre-made burger patties. Sausage. Filets. Go for the butcher meats, they're fresher, higher quality so they just taste better! read more

Was there yesterday and bough bee sting, taco, and pesto sausage. All were delicious in different ways. Bee sting was sweet at first, then got spicy. Pesto and taco had delicious flavor. Will be back for more. The other meats looked incredible! Very lean and fresh. Will try those next time! read more

So thrilled we found Rs Market! We moved to Rochester from San Francisco and only today learned about Rs Market. This is a perfect place to pop into when one needs a few, quality, groceries. Their meats are terrific, the carry Flour City pasta and items from other local suppliers, it's a clean establishment with kind people working there. It's sad to say but getting more and more difficult to attribute those qualities, all of them, to one establishment. Rs does not disappoint!!! read more

This is a great place! With all the big box stores, it is really nice to go into a truly neighborhood establishment. The meat counter and selection are great! Reasonable prices and exceptional quality. They also have an great selection of craft beer both in the cooler and on tap for growlers.
