Love this range! I was reluctant to join because up until the first time I went I had only enjoyed the freedoms of outdoor shooting. I also incorrectly assumed that the type of people I was going to meet there would be some sort of judgmental gun-snobs. I could not have been more wrong! The discipline required to shoot indoors has ingrained within me invaluable skills and safety practices. As far as the people are concerned, the vast majority of the staff are kind and friendly (there are always one or two sour pusses of course) and in general they are just good people. The RSOs are serious and stern when they need to be but funny and friendly when they can be. If an RSO yells at you its not because hes a jerk, its because you are doing something incredibly stupid and he really doesnt want to spend the night cleaning somebodys off the walls and floors (I have actually seen them have to do it when a pistol slide ripped open somebodys hand). The members and guest shooters are generally great as well. Just regular down to earth folks. Dont be surprised if you get stuck in a conversation with one of your neighbors. If you have something interesting or shiny in your port, odds are somebody is going to want to check it out. The training courses they offer are fantastic as well. A little on the expensive side but you are paying to gain the knowledge of a serious professional. Ammo and targets are sold at MSRP but you are allowed to bring your own (God bless the internet). I wish the Red membership was a little bit cheaper, its about $500 after taxes, but the facilities are clean and modern and I shoot there almost every week so its well worth it once you get over the sticker shock. My only complaint is that the touch screens in the ports can be frustrating to use. They are starting to show their age and sometimes you really need to spend a lot of time fishing around for a spot near the buttons that actually works in order to send and recall your targets. But that is a minor issue that hopefully will be addressed soon. Overall I very highly recommend RTSP. We are truly blessed to have a place like this in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey! read more

Young women interested in self defense - listen up! I took the Intro to Handgun course with Jerry M. at the Randolph location and would highly recommend! Jerry began the course in the classroom, starting with a visual presentation. The time we spent just talking through the basics helped me identify a few techniques I could use to use to improve my accuracy. As a new firearms owner, Jerry made me feel super comfortable asking any type of question - from sighting, to range safety, to the mechanics of a cartridge, to the process of protecting myself in the event of a home invasion, and everything in between. Then it was time to hit the range. Jerry was ON IT! He was picking up on inaccuracies that I would otherwise have never known about. He was an encouraging and very clear communicator - his methods of instruction are straight forward, I never once felt confused or discouraged by his feedback. I left the range that day feeling more confident in my ability to defend myself than I did walking in. I normally do not get involved with social media and reviews, but other peoples reviews do influence us in deciding where to shop, eat, what we buy. I read a recent review of someone who had a bad experience with a range officer at RTSP, that they were being bothered for everything. I felt the need to respond. One of the reasons why guns get a bad name is because of their misuse. It is is a byproduct of lack of training and understanding basic safety concepts. The range officers are there to enforce those basic safety concepts, which protect us and those around us from being fatally injured through negligence. I have handling firearms since my youth, but have become active the past few years. I belong to various clubs and have been going to RTSP weekly and bi-weekly for over a year. I have found the range officers to be professional in every regard, especially when it comes to safety issues, bar non and RTSP has many range officers male and female. Regardless of ones level of experience, the range officers are there to protect us and I am very thankful to all of them. read more

Range Safety officer Michael, I highly recommend him if its your first time ever shooting he will make your experience a memorable one. Me and two other of my friends went to RTSP and it was our first time ever shooting. from the moment we stepped foot into the range Michael got me and my friends set up. after telling him that it was our first time ever shooting for all of us he showed us everything there was to know. the main focus was safety after that he showed us everything we needed to know about the guns we picked. he was such a great instructor that after a couple minutes with him we learned everything and were able to shoot comfortably on our own. so if your planning on going to RTSP and its your first time shooting or need any help i suggest to look for Michael he is a great guy to work with and have as an instructor. Great employees, service, and neighborly atmosphere. Very important for newbies like me. All of the range safety officers are kind, intelligent, and extremely safe. They have always made sure to be patient when teaching my family, friends, and I. I would like to personally mention Jerry, Mike, and Jessie for their utmost professionalism and excellence for helping everyone I know and myself who come to the range for nothing but the best experience each and every time. These people know their industry, and they make sure that you feel safe and trained every step of the way. Definitely one of the best ranges with many amazing employees. i haven't shot in over a decade and back then it was somewhere else. took my daughter and her cousin (14 and 15) yesterday and they loved it so much we went again today. After the first day those girls want nothing to do with little 22s or even a 9mm and loved the pose and recoil of the 556s and 12 gauge. the place is very clean even the bathrooms (deal breaker for me) the staff is super friendly and very polite and helpful especially as we were new and needed a few hints on how things work there. They hinted about going again this week, sorry had to put the brakes on that....but we will be back in the next few weeks. 175 rounds of 556 and a couple dozen 12 gauge with have to hold for a bit lol. read more

Took the 2 hour pistol instruction course with Jorge. To say Jorge was great is an understatement. From the minute we said hello he had a professional yet friendly and very comfortable demeanor. Jorge made me feel very comfortable and made sure if we had questions or concerns to say so and he addressed them without fail, in a patient and easy going manner. The instruction he provided was top notch. When we got to the range and implemented the instruction he provided was awesome. I will use Jorge for any further instruction when I need it. As for the range itself it is great. The RSO's are phenomenal and made each visit exceptional as did the entire staff. read more

I have been reluctant to go to RTSP as I always thought it was hype from the people that have gone since it was a new range. I must say I was greatly mistaken. It is indeed a world class facility. Everything was very organized and clean. The gun display was immaculate and everything about the facility just seeemed very professional. There are several rooms for training seminars, a simulation room, as well as a small cafeteria and waiting area. Don't believe me go check it out yourself and report back. The staff from the RSO's to the people at the counter were friendly and respectful. I look forward to bringing my friends and family to shoot at this range. read more

I have been coming to Randolph location for about 6 plus years and find the facility and people to be professional, friendly and helpful. I feel safe at this facility with excellent support when needed. I have taken classes and find the people to be professional and knowledgeable. Instructor Rodrigo helped me with my aim, stance and went above to teach me situation awareness. He helped me realize through simulated situations how difficult it can be to be a police officer or anyone else with a firearm when a split second decision could mean life or death. This is a great place to shoot. Also , as a certified RSO I think that Angel and Mike are two of the best. They are friendly and yet they keep a tight rein on the shooters providing a safe shooting experience for all on the shooting line. Their own shooting skills greatly enhance the advice and instruction they give to the shooters. I know that all of my shooting friends feel the same way about them. I can't say enough positive things about this facility. I travel about 40 minutes to enjoy the professional, courteous, friendly and most importantly safe atmosphere RTSP extends to me and my family. Today, one of the range officers helped my son sight in a new rifle. Afterwards, it was all my son talked about... A real Class Act in my opinion! I could certainly shoot at a range closer to my house but I've never felt as comfortable (for many reasons) as when at RTSP. RTSP has a great selection of modern firearms ammo and other related products. I came with a friend (can't go shooting alone here) and between the both of us we ended spending a little over $100 for the hour. The over all processes was simple. When you come your greeted by the lovely staff and are instructed to watch a 8 min movie on Gun Saftey! Angel was our Saftey Instructor. He was great at showing how to load a 9mm and properly handle the fire arm. For a beginner it was quite the experience. Definitely would come back again. Thanks RTSP read more

6 months into my membership and so far it has been great. Being a new shooter, I decided to take a few courses. My first training course with Jorge not only fixed my inconsistent shot, but also helped me nail my CCW qualifier. Great instructor and facility. Look forward to returning on a regular basis.
