They did not communicate with me at all before my Vegas elopement, to the point where I thought I was being scammed. I just was looking to find out what time they were coming, and the only emails I got were automated until finally getting an answer at 6pm the night before, after reaching out many times via email and Instagram dm. On the day of my wedding, the stylists didn't show up on time and weren't responding to my calls; I finally got a response from them via Instagram DM. Someone came a full hour late to do my makeup and two hours late to do my hair, thus making me late to my own wedding. I've tried to give them the chance to make it right by reaching out privately, but have not gotten any response. It's funny to see how they respond to every single review in great detail but they seem to have no time to respond to their emails or communicate with their customers. They did a fine job but it was super rushed because they showed up so late. They made my wedding day insanely stressful, so overall it was not worth it and I do not recommend them. read more

I really was not happy with the service I received from Ruby Finch and I am gutted I didn't go for a trial or trusted my instincts when they didn't reply to my messages following payment. I felt the process was not personalised to what I wanted to achieve at all and was of very poor quality. After payment it was impossible to get in contact with anyone to the point where I felt I may have been scammed. I finally managed to get a confirmation over instagram when I asked to change the appointment time and then when I double checked over the phone the day before I was told this wasn't possible and she acted like she had never heard of the amendment. It was very strange. I also asked for extension styling and was told it wouldn't be possible a day before even though I had asked for it months ago when I sent photos across by email as requested- these were just ignored. When they turned up, they had absolutely no idea what I was looking to achieve. They just asked me on the spot what I would like doing and clearly did not see any of the inspiration pictures I had sent across weeks ago. The service felt very on the spot and unprofessional. The final look was cakey, the eyelashes were not applied correctly (there was a huge gap between my lash line and the lashes) and my hair was over the top. There was also no skin prep whatsoever. I hate to write this review, but unfortunately my experience with Ruby Finch was...unfortunate. Hair and makeup services for your wedding is a very personal experience that you're putting into the hands of a third party and not to mention a decision you're making on behalf of your bridal party and perhaps mother/MIL. That said you want to know that your (and their) hard earned money is going towards a service worthy of your $. The summary of my experience with Ruby Finch is this: Not worth what they charge. Moral of the story: Do a trial before paying a deposit or signing a contract. A few notes in response to owners response*: It attempts to make it look as though I was late coming down...the hair stylist was not on time and we finished 15 minutes late and I walked down with her as soon as she was done, so the makeup artist could take her parking space. Parking in our garage is not an option without a gate pass that's inside my car and I do not have extra spaces, I would've had to give her my spot and find another space anyway. Otherwise her car would be towed. This comment is based on assumptions. No one refused to allow her to park in a garage. I gave 30 days notice of cancellation, not just "a few short weeks" Despite whatever pandemic scare is still leftover there are regardless plenty of safer options that should have been chosen first to be in makeup kit where items touch one's skin. 327 days to decide is a facetious comment. Obviously I didn't spend 327 days deliberating. I had no need to book that far in advance and forgot about them until I reached out again. The rushing obviously had to do with what was felt at the actual appointment. Lacks integrity that she is using gaslighting method to say "bridal panic has set in" as opposed to accepting maybe her operation isn't as flawless as it is marketed. I guess the integrity only applies when money in involved. Original Review: I'm happy to pay premium for a premium product, but their prices are so astronomical and not reflective in what is provided. I paid for a trial and the whole process felt rushed. I understand a trial isn't meant to try out several different looks, however it should have room for tweaks or adjustments which did not happen on the hair end of things, again because of the rush. I also noticed the makeup artist had Clorox wipes (which I could smell the entire time my makeup was being applied, but only saw for sure at the end as she was packing up). I explained profusely how I have very sensitive skin and am sensitive to chemicals etc. and it just seems strange to have a product that specifies "causes moderate eye irritation, avoid contact with eyes or clothing, wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling"... even outside of personal aversion to products such as these for health reasons, it just doesn't seem that this would have any place inside of a makeup kit where there are brushes and products that go on the skin. I didn't think this was something I'd need to explain or specify...especially after emphasizing how sensitive my skin is...there are plenty of other products that achieve sanitation (rubbing alcohol for one...) without being a toxic chemical (easy to do a quick Google search on concerns surrounding these products). Overall, just not a tool you'd expect to see in the makeup kit of a service that costs over $300 per head... After the makeup trial (which came second) which we did have time to make some adjustments however the experience overall just left me feeling uncomfortable and for personal reasons explained to the owner, I desired to go in a different direction with makeup. With 30+ days notice the owner refused to remove the makeup services. She demanded I still pay the remaining $800 balance for the makeup services which I would not be receiving. Due to her inflexibility and principal I declined all services. I tried to approach the matter kindly and respectfully but some business simply value the "contract" (AKA the dollar) over the client. I wasn't asking for any money back and I explained my stance as tactfully and kindly as possible. It just was a totally unreasonable experience. I had already over paid on the deposit (over $1500). I paid $300 over the retainer to cover some of the tip out of my own pocket and that money paid past the deposit was even refused to be refunded. read more

I was referred to the Ruby Finch Salon by a friend when I first got engaged to use for my wedding, and this was not a mistake to listen to. I initially booked Cora to do my hair and makeup for my engagement photos, and she was nothing less than amazing during my appointment. She listened to what I wanted and preferred not to do (e.g. eyeliner only on my top eyelid). She even made me laugh when I was nothing but frustrated with the outside sources, trying to help me relax. The products used were amazing, lasting all day since my photos ended up being taken about 5-6 hours later. Should be given that it covered up stress blemishes, and I didn't look like a clown, which is always a fear of mine. She's been busy with other weddings, considering October is usually the tail end of wedding season, but don't be worried because she'll get back to you ASAP. The Salon's site was actually down for a bit, but had quickly been addressed. I was recommended to this salon by my hairdresser here in California. I was hesitant at first but also knew that having my hair and makeup done on my wedding day was an absolute must. That was one stress I wasn't willing to tackle on my own. I was just planning on trying to get an appointment at the hotel salon where we were staying prior to contacting Cora at this salon. Once we were put in contact, our interactions were professional and seamless. I was able to secure not only an appointment for myself but for my daughters as well and at the same time. I was fortunate enough to book both Cora and Monet for this special occasion and they were able to come to my hotel room so I never had to leave and be stressed with transportation and traffic issues. This was truly an experience I will never forget. Despite having never met much less talk on the phone, I felt so very comfortable with the both of them. They basically brought the salon with them and they made me feel like a celebrity for the day. Cora's artistry is top notch. My makeup was flawless and my hair was more beautiful than I could have imagined. I will never forget when I looked in the mirror that morning and saw my face for the first time. It truly brought tears to my eyes because I never thought I could feel so beautiful. While I was having my makeup done, Monet was working on my daughter and step-daughter's hair.
