I have taken several cars here and things started out okay until I decided to buy a used car for my daughter. I had them look it over before purchasing this Toyota Rav4 and they assured me it was as great car. Within months several things went wrong with the car that racked up thousands of dollars in repairs, way beyond the original cost of the vehicle. These were things that a mechanic should be able to see and predict, like the transmission completely giving out. Within a year I had put $12,000 into repairs on this car that they had originally assured me would be a great purchase. It was the transmission that really soured my entire experience with Ruby Isle. They sent it somewhere to have a rebuilt transmission put in, which took at least 6 weeks. It cost over $6,000, but came with a warranty, a warranty we were still under. A few months after the transmission replacement, my daughter drove the car to California to take a temp job for 6 months. A week before she was to drive it back home, the replaced transmission gave out. Her lease was up, she had to leave and was forced to buy another car to get home. I had called John at Ruby Isle as soon as this happened and he wanted me to bring the car in. I could not bring the car in as it was now dead on the ground in California. He said I should have given them more notice, even though I had called and not heard back from him for a number of days and there was no way to give more notice. This is how things happen - she's in CA and out of her apartment in days with no where to go and she can't get home. John said he would contact the transmission place they had used to see if there was somewhere she could take the car out in CA, but he never got back to me in time (said the transmission people hadn't gotten back to him in time), so that car is now a complete loss and I never got a cent back from the warranty on that transmission. I also never heard back from John again, despite his promise that he would look into the warranty with the transmission people. He completely ghosted me, haven't heard from him in months now. I suppose he figures it's over and done, but I lost over $12,000 on that car in less than 18 months after his assurance that this was a good purchase for my daughter. My confidence in Ruby Isle is shattered and I can never go back there. I will never trust their expertise, and I was completely taken for thousands of dollars, over $12,000, in the end. read more

Repaired a tire for me, did a good job without trying to sell me a tire I didn't need. Took a bit, but they were busy and I just dropped in on a tow truck. Wasn't expensive. I thought I was treated okay. Comfortable waiting room. read more

Ruby Isle was recommended to me by my work as the preferred location to get an oil change. I was happy to learn that I was able to schedule my appointment for the next day! It was also nice to be able to make the appointment for 4:30pm on a days notice. I went back last week for a second time to get new tires. I researched what I wanted ahead of time and called to make sure they had them in stock. I am certain that they would have been able to help me pick out tires if I didn't do the research. Ruby Isle offers a shuttle service to your place or work or home if you need to keep your car there for service, which I did. This was another determining factor that made me choose them for my new tires. Both people who drove the shuttle were friendly and made the drive not awkward. I will definitely be coming back here for future oil changes and service work. Bonus points for the friendly owner pausing his conversation with another customer to tell me to have a great night! Went to get my car worked on was able to get one of the parts done and the car was suppose to be done the same day and I called and the owner told me it was done and 5 hours later the next day I didn't hear nothing so called back the daughter answers and said they started working on it that day and it should be done today , then call back a week later to see where my oil leak was and how much to get it done because that was next and they told me they were not booking anyone for 3 weeks because that's how far out they are, what a lie because u would have no business then what about walk ins, they just didn't want to do the work because they got caught up in lies I paid to get my car looked at and now they don't want to tell me what's wrong with it and won't fix it read more

They explain everything in detail and patiently listen to me and answer all of my questions. They really care about their customers, and their customer's safety. How refreshing is it when you come by excellent, honest service! Today I took my car to get new tires. I was saddened to find out that, as this was my first tire replacement on my "new to me" used car, that the dealership that sold it to me A) failed to mention I had special aftermarket rims and tires B) these special rims and tires needed a "key" to get them off C) never supplied me with the key! John and his staff were not only understanding of my situation, but on the phone with the dealership to explain the situation. When the dealership wiped their hands clean of the situation (see my Napleton Mazda review--I am STILL fuming about it), Ruby Isle put my in touch with a tire place that sold me the "key" I needed!!! Worst repair shop there is!!! They had my truck for over 7 months and every time I called, they told me that there still working on it or some other excuses, finally went to pick up my vehicle and after two days of driving the check engine light came on, so they said to bring the truck back in, then it took another 3 months at there shop, with no updates at all, so i went to pick it up again because it was taking too long and no updates, drove off the lot just to find out that my catyalac converter was cut off, and they didn't even tell me what happend, I had to find out myself after I picked it up, I have a feeling that they are the ones who cut it off because of there Bazar and un professional ways they conduct business, they put me in a 3000 dollar hole, not even 1 star read more

my truck was towed to this company July 9th. i didn't receive any news about my truck until they called me to inform me my repairs were complete. When i arrived there to pick up truck, i noticed my truck was not in clear view where i can see it. My truck was parked face forward in the rear of building. I was running late for work, so i didn't think to inspect plus i thought this company was a trusted establishment. Once i made it to work i noticed the dent called to inform about the dent. the owner first tried to pin dent on tow company, then later said his insurance will not cover damages they have signs all around the store saying not responsible for damages or theft. But that would be fine if the case was vandalism done like spray paint or window busted on truck, but these damages were done by one of his employees while moving my truck. the employee either backed into something or backed something into my truck. i was told that i could not review cameras and his insurance will not pay for damages. i was in furious and appalled at the fact that the owner wouldn't take responsibility for his employee putting the dent in my car. He told me i needed to file a claim with my insurance company. So i am telling everyone about the awful experience i had with this company. I wish the owner would have just owned up to damages done to my truck under his premises. read more

Our experience with Ruby Isle was the worst we've ever encountered with an auto shop- we took my car in to get my power steering pump replaced, and a simple one-day fix turned into a five day ordeal. Beyond getting misquoted for the replacement & service (actual charge was over $600 more than the quote) and the fact that they ordered the wrong part & delayed the service, they're getting one star for how they dealt with it. I had them remove the new pump from my car and replace it with my old one (as another shop said they would fix it for closer to my original quote from Ruby's Isle). The new shop said that my old pump was barely installed, not screwed in, and the threads were completely stripped. I was told to report this to the Better Business Bureau due to this. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I was sent here through car max for warranty work, even then they took along time with my car. but the work they did was some what ok. I then refereed my boyfriend to go to the same shop. THIS WAS A TERRIBLE DECISION. We first drop the car off in the morning like they asked and assumed the diagnostics would be done. WRONNGGGG, did not hear from them for two days. We have to always call them to get a update. So once they finally told us what was wrong, we agreed to the service. They ordered parts and said they'll be there the next day. We hadn't heard anything so we called and they told us the converter was broken and had to order a new one. AGAIN NO PHONE CALL. So since our car was going to be there for some time, we requested a loaner. Man man the loan car they gave me had ashes in the door handle, and no gas, i was surprised to make it to the gas station. I said to myself then, YEAH THEY WILL NOT GET MY SERVICE NO MORE. SO 1 WHOLE WEEK GO BY and the car is finally done. I take there loaner car back and they say to me, mam the car had a quarter tank of gas. EXCUSEEEEE ME. it had no gas. What was the point of telling them in the first place, they communication, customer service was all off. They said don't worry about and I paid the 1,900 some dollars for my car and left. week later, engine light back on. So of course I have to take it back to the same shop who fix it because they were supposed to fix why the light was on. Of course, an 02 sensor problem, the same thing that was supposed to be fixed the first time. So i drop it on Friday, July 9th hadn't heard from them until the following week Tuesday, letting us know the 02 sensor was bad, its in the warranty because they just "Fixed" it. Spoke to them Thursday and they were ordering the part. Did not call Friday it was busy for me. Monday morning come and I had to call them, GUESS WHAT, CAR STILL NOT READY AND SAID THE PART THEY GOT WAS WRONG SO THEY HAD TO ORDER ANOTHER AND SHOULD BE HERE THIS MORNING. I will never use their service again. I will pay top dollar for my cars but not through them. Customer service is terrible, appreciation for their customers is NONE, and as far as getting you in and out, DONT COUNT ON THEM! read more

DON"T....Had an 8:00 appointment for an alignment. Got there at 8:00 and they appeared to not have my appointment down. Not a big deal. Took my info. Said I was going to wait. I asked how long it should take. They said about 45 minutes. Great told them I was going to get some breakfast and gave them my phone number. Came back about an hour later. Car is still in the spot I parked it. Oh we got tied up. That was the full explanation and conversation. I didn't have any more time to wait. That's why I made an appointment. No phone call to let me know about the delay no nothing! Apparently a customers time is of no value to them nor is scheduling an appointment. Don't know what kind of work they would have done if they ever would have gotten to my car, but I'll never know because I'll never be back. If you've got all day to waste with them, they may be a good place to go, but if you're on a schedule find a competent shop! read more

Great Shop They did an oil change and rotate the other day while I waited and they got me in and out. This was huge because I am pregnant and had my 2 year old son with me. They recommended a couple of maintenance services for my vehicle and were not pushy at all. I would of had the services done if my son wasn't with me. My day started out in a frustrating way when I saw that my 2012 Chevy Volt had a flat tire as I was leaving for work. I was able to put enough air in the tire to get me to Ruby Isle, because they are the only ones close to my house who sell the tires for my car. When I pulled in just after 7am when they opened, I had planned on waiting for several hours as I didn't call ahead or have an appointment. I walked down the street to McDonalds to get a coffee and when I returned about 30 minutes later, it was already being worked on. Not only was I on my way to work before 8am, they were able to repair the nail hole which saved me from having to buy a new tire! Highly recommend this place our cars muffler fell off as we exited the freeway last week....our old junk runaround rusty 1990 Chevy cavalier . Brought it in hoping they could fix it as the sign says tire but they do do other work besides tires thankfully. Our payday wasn't for another week and we didn't have the money right then to pay for the exhaust repairs which came to over 200.00...which was a fair price by the way; the car was fixed in a day and since we needed the car for doctors appointments and such in the coming week we just asked if they would let us have the car now and pay when we got paid and the answer was yes. In this day and age of money first I want everyone who reads this to know this place puts people first and gives service with a smile. Give them your business.
