I love to support local mom and pop places but this one continues to just miss and I can't go when the only thing good is it's local people We have been to Rubys when it was the old location on memory drive and it was better then and now several times at the new location which seems to be when they went downhill. First before you go check the health score. They had scored in the 60s and 70s and were hit for not keeping food at the right temps and had mentioned it was timing if the health inspection for someone was coming out the next day to resolve. Sounds good and sounds like they knew about it. They got heath checked again a month later and well the same issue on food temps was still an issue. The service is not always great. We have been and walked out after 15 mins of being ignored and it was not super busy. Then on other times the service was slow, had to ask for refills and if you get appetizers and share plates please note they won't clear the table till you leave so yes you can sit there with your dirty plates and look at them and your empty glass that you want more drink in. I have mentioned it to the owner and he said while we do have young kids working here. That's an excuse and a training along with management issue. I worked as a server at the same age and knew what the restaurant standards were. Onto the food. It's Italian but in reality it is pizza and sandwiches. The pizza dough is thick and since I have been to Italy it is nothing like Italy. I've been to New York, Chicago and Detroit and it's none of those styles either. It's thick dough that I have had not cooked all the way through. Also you pay per topping and I will say the price for the amount of toppings is way off and not worth it. The sandwich is decent. I think the bread is made there so plus on that. They use boars head so basically it's similar to any other local sandwich shop. We did have dessert. I think they may make the cakes there but we had cannolis and the shells came out of a box and not sure about the crème since it was already in a pipping bag. Overall this place is meh. It probably stays in business because near the square there are not a lot of choices so people get pizza and they deliver when others don't go that far. So that's probably their bread and butter. Those looking for a good Italian dinner are just not going to Also when you go there is wiring over by doors and you can see in the pictures. It doesn't seem safe and done properly. read more

Hmmmm..I want to love this place but the Saturday I went they were struggling badly It was around 3pm. Not crowded at all. Service very slow. I ordered a Rubin and my husband ordered a sausage Parmesan sandwich. They came with chips. My Ruben came out after a fairly long wait. Waitress told my husband that his was on the way. A long wait later she told my husband they made a meatball parm in error and would he take it. They offered to make the sausage parm as a to go. The Rubin was very good. The meatball parm was just ok. They definitely need some training on how to run a sit down restaurant. Also training on how to prep food and have it go out at the same time for full party. The waitress did not even apologize for the somewhat strange service. I also thought rubys was known for their take home and heat meals. Went in on a Friday afternoon. Service was slow for how busy the restaurant was. Servers need to be more attentive to customers than their phones. That's the biggest drawback. Don't come here if you're limited on time. Food quality was pretty good. Chili dog was underwhelming but it wasnt bad. I won't be ordering that again. Philly cheese steak is really good. That alone is enough to bring me back. Best cheese steak I've had anywhere near here. Cannoli was as expected. Didn't blow me away, but wasn't disappointed. It's a cannoli. read more

They were mediocre before they moved but now they got worse. We were there 11/17/22 and they were fairly full. Ms Baseball Cap, I assume owner, was bothered over something with the receipts and kept taking the ONLY person that was working away from the customers. A young lady, new at the time, that I will call Newbie. Then we have a lady who kept walk around, with soap suds dripping from her arms and elbows, who did not help at all. In fact ignored customers requests all together. AND God save us the cook. His tee shirt had caked on grease so bad that it could not have been washed in a while. We got 2 meatball parms large, a sausage parm large and 2 sodas. $49.03. The table next to us had finished before we even sat down. It was 23 minutes of constantly asking for the check to no avail. It was only when they got up and stood 3 feet from Ms Baseball Cap for 7 minutes did they actually get the check. I know this because I had nothing to do as we waited to be waited on. Newbie was great but had no help from the rest. When we got the food the 2 meatball parms were off. One had 6 meatballs and the other had 4. When I had them correct this oversight we were then visited and stared at by everyone in the kitchen. There is more to the story but I don't even want to waste my time on them. I have no idea what James on here is posting about but I will admit the pizza here is some of the softest, best crust, best tasting, and mouth watering pizza I have ever put in my mouth!! I go here as much as I can and would pay 100x the amount the food cost for the quality of food they make here!! The service is fantastic as well as they make you feel as if you're home here. I love everything about this restaurant and recommend it to anyone that I know and everyone that I recommend it to absolutely agrees with me on how well the food tastes!! 10/10 I don't know how to stress it enough but best food I've ever had!! I was born in the south, but lived in the north for awhile. The one thing I have missed about the north was great pizza. Finally, finally, finally, I now have a place that I can get that same great NY-style pizza, Ruby's Recipes!!! They opened up their new location in September 2022 (former Old Towne Pizza location), and they are knocking out of the park!! It's the best pizza I've had in the southeast, period!! read more
