Went today, Saturday, May 17,2025. First let me say our server was really good so this is in no way a negative reflection on her! She was great! The wait... It's Saturday so don't expect the in-and-out experience. The food... Cheese grits good. Three little pigs omelet... Both my wife's and mine were burnt. Like burnt crisp on the bottom. Biscuits kinda the same... Not as bad but still burnt. We didn't try to send anything back because when I say 20 people were waiting for a table and the place was packed - not kidding!!! 3 stars (Server gets 5 and food gets 1). read more

Staff were very pleasant. Server was great, but the fact we saw a large roach crawling up the wall was a bit off putting. Drew it to staff's attention and were informed they had "called an exterminator ". Maybe if they'd discounted a drink or something I might not have posted this, but it's concerning that there were more roaches where that one came from. Plus out of a lot of the drinks because of Mothers Day the prior day. Food was tasty but the underlying thoughts of how clean their kitchen may be was a bit off putting. read more

We walked in at 930 am on a Sunday and miraculously got seated right away- had we been even 10-20 minutes later we would definitely have been waiting! Bottomless coffee was very appreciated, French toast bites amazing, mains were delicious and came quickly and service was great! Cost also so reasonable. read more

They wouldn't seat us until we were all there (had to park a couple blocks away) which is was kinda annoying, but otherwise the place was awesome. This place was great for breakfast. I had the Peacemaker with the Cochon and Fried Chicken. The chicken was very good, and the Cochon was excellent. If you're a fan of fall apart meat like confit or rillettes, get the Cochon. My husband had the shrimp omelette. He said the shrimp tasted very fresh. I can be picky about breakfast places as I sometimes feel you pay a lot for simple ingredients, but this place did a fantastic job of delivering creative and tasty options. read more

When asking about Keto options she immediately went to get me a separate menu. Very cute decor and yummy food. Before leaving we asked her for advice on beaches and she told us how to get to a quiet, less-busy area and we were thrilled to find it so easily. One of my FAVORITE places to eat brunch. The people here are the best and the food is incredible. 100000/10 would recommend.

First of all Kristan our server was amazing. She got us coffee right away and had a smile the whole time. She was great in that she told us all about the history of the restaurant which was fun to learn about. She kept our coffee filled and the water filled too. We started with the French Toast Bites which were so delicious. I had an iced vanilla latte which was perfect. My boyfriend had the Benedict combo with the chicken benie and the pork benie. I had the Bisquits and Gravy which was outstanding. The gravy was seasoned perfectly. They have several locations so look them up and go! read more

My first time ever trying Ruby Slipper Cafe. We joined the waitlist prior to leaving the hotel, which I highly recommend anyone does because the wait can be long. When we arrived, we waited maybe 6 minutes for our table. Once seated, our server Linda S. came about 2 minutes later to greet us and take our drink orders. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions. She was a great server! I ordered the hot smoked salmon omelette, which came with a biscuit and my choice of grits, potatoes or fruit. I selected the grits and opted for no cheese in them. It was 5 of us in our group and our food came out fairly quickly. My grits were slightly cool but tasted good! The omelette was good with plenty of salmon, which tasted really good. The salmon was chopped fine, which was good but the onions were chopped a little too small for my liking. But it was still good. The biscuit was huge. We went here for Father's Day 2023, it was our first time dining here and we will be back. The food and service was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed my meal and my companion had 2 entrees and enjoyed both of them, they said that it was the best meal they ever had and will be getting the same meal the next time we go, which will be soon. I recommend joining the waitlist prior to ur arrival since it is a fine place to dine it is usually very busy. I look forward to dining here again in the near future read more

Linda and her trainee were both amazing--very attentive and sweet. Food was delicious--I don't get to the Deep South much, but when I do I try to order as many shrimp and grits as my stomach can handle. The beer gravy was delicious and the shrimp were poached well. The biscuit on the side would have been a bit much, but it was a perfect balance of sweet and fluffy (side of honey butter) that it was a welcome addition. Wife had a Benedict, with bacon and tomato. I snuck a taste and it was quite good--buttery and flavorful. I know this is a chain restaurant, but I'm glad they did their New Orleans roots well with great flavors and amazing service. read more

Yelped Mobile for restaurants after a Sunday Costco trip from Navarre Fl and came across the Ruby Slipper Cafe. Could not be happier with this choice. Our waitress Sabrina W was absolutely top notch! Could not have asked for a more polite, interactive, got my husbands zany sense of humor, put up with our probably inappropriate table talk, lovely person to take care of us today. You rock Sabrina! I had my first Ruby Slipper Café breakfast in December 2020 and it was the best breakfast I have ever had in a restaurant. I understand the Ruby Slipper Café is a chain of restaurants and let me tell you they know how to do breakfast right. They have a wonderful selection of Eggs Benedict on BISCUITS with a wide variety to suit everyone's palette. The menu offers a dual choice allowing you to try tWO different styles of their Eggs Benedict. I opted for the fried chicken style and the fried green tomato which came with a slice tomato and one fried green tomato. It was the most delightful Eggs Benedict I've ever had. It's very southern and tasty as ever! Your breakfast is accompanied with a delicious honey butter. It truly was amazing!! Specialty cocktails are available as well and their Bloody Mary was amazing. It has a piece of bacon and other goodies. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and brunch. Go early or late as the wait is very long. They took our cell phone number and texted when that table was ready. You can check your place in line from the text. I think you can get on the wait list from your Yelp App (I think). Ruby Slippery Cafe was near our hotel so we tried it for brunch. The hot chocolate was delicious but the coffee was not to my liking. Ordered the Trifecta and it was soooo tasty. The Eggs cochon and the Bayou shrimp were my favorites among the three benedicts. My kid also enjoyed his kid's meal of bacon and eggs. We also ordered the cinnamon swirl pancake but nothing special about it. Service was just ok. Our server did not come and check us out or refilled our water until we called and asked her to think that it wasn't even a busy day at the restaurant. The ambiance was casual and a bit noisy. I am a native of Mobile. Every time I come home, the Ruby Slipper is a must! I have never been disappointed in my food or my service. It is in downtown Mobile, so parking can be a little tricky. If you come early, the wait is not long. I suggest joining the waitlist before you arrive. My parent's home is in the area so I usually join when I get in the car. There is something very special about breakfast, as a good breakfast can set the tone of your day. Although many breakfast dishes are simple in nature, it's the one meal that I cannot make nearly as good as most dedicated breakfast restaurants can. I'm not sure what it is about breakfast restaurants, but is always seems their eggs are a little better, their biscuits are a little fluffier and their pancakes and waffles are simply perfect. Maybe I'm just a hack of a cook, maybe it's magic, but there's nothing like a good breakfast joint. And Ruby Slipper (NOLA owned) is definitely a great breakfast stop. It was 11 OCT 2020 and we were checking out of our downtown Mobile, AL hotel (Battle House) and were headed to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park for a lot of exploring. Therefore, we needed a hearty breakfast to sustain us. We had tried a couple of the local Mobile restaurants, but the Ruby Slipper, which we enjoy so much in New Orleans, had a location less than 1 block from our hotel. Therefore, we opted to go here, and as always with Ruby Slipper, we were not disappointed. COVID-19 restrictions were still in place on our visit but we were fortunate to be seated almost immediately. As is typical with Ruby Slipper, the restaurant filled to capacity (COVID-19 capacity) shortly after our arrival. Our server, whose name escapes me, was super friendly and appreciated the fact that we were locals from their New Orleans CBD location. I was so hungry, that forgot to snap a picture of my wife and son's food. My son got an order of their classic buttermilk pancakes and my wife got the "Southern Breakfast", which looked like the typical egg/bacon/biscuit breakfast you'd find nearly anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon Line. I opted for Florentine omelet (spinach, portabella mushrooms & goat cheese) and lightened it up a bit by getting it made with 4 egg whites. With a side of sliced tomatoes and sliced avocados, it was filling yet fairly healthy. As I stated in my New Orleans review, Ruby Slipper is not where you want to go if you are looking for a quiet breakfast spot, as the restaurant is crowded and loud; but not so loud that you can't have a normal conversation without yelling. Our food was great, our server was good and she even sent us on our way with three (3) "to-go" beverages. Consistently good, it's still a win-win in my book. read more
