Maple Street Biscuit Co is in a cute, renovated space. Staff were friendly and fast. The iced coffee was prepared well and not too sweet. We went for the first time around 2 pm on a Sunday. Now, maybe the food would've been better had we gotten there earlier (as they are more of a breakfast/brunch spot) but this place should consider taking "biscuit" out of the name. We ordered two biscuits with eggs and both biscuits were hard, dry and flavorless. If I ever made it back to Maple Street, I'd try anything on the menu other than their biscuits, which is a shame considering we were looking forward to good breakfast sandwiches. read more

Amazing food. Good counter service, no credit card scanner asking for tips. Our first time here and we will be back. We ordered hot tea and coffee and squawking goat chicken biscuit and she had the spinach egg and cheese biscuit. Well the flavors on mine with pepper jelly, crispy juicy chicken, and the star being the goat cheese, wow great flavors and textures woth good taste on the jelly. A little messy to eat, but great taste. She lover her spinach bisscuit as well. The only issue was timing on our drinks as they came out well after our food was ready. While in the area for an appointment, we googled breakfast places. Maple Street Biscuit Company was the closest to our location. Arriving, most of the parking was in the back. This was the only issue we had as we had to walk completely around to the front of the building to enter. But , after visiting, we would have walked around the building several times to eat the food! After wanting to visit Maple Street Biscuit Company for quite some time, this experience ended up being pretty underwhelming. Nothing about the meal really stood out or felt memorable. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles themselves were decent and probably the best part of the dish, but the chicken was a letdown. It tasted like it was heavily seasoned with garlic powder and little else, lacking balance or depth. Even more off-putting, a couple pieces of the chicken had a strange rubbery texture that made it hard to enjoy. My husband ordered the retro plate, and the smash rounds were disappointing as well. Instead of having that true potato flavor and texture, they were very pasty and floury, almost like mashed dough rather than potatoes. I was very pleased with my breakfast this morning. Biscuits are very dense but soft on the inside. I had one with a fried chicken breast, goat cheese and pepper jelly (YUM). The sweet girl at the register also gave me a complimentary cinnamon biscuit when I mentioned it was my first time in the restaurant. That darn biscuit tasted identical to a cinnamon roll. The facility is modern and clean. My reasoning for four stars is due to how the staff was treated. An older lady behind the counter (maybe the owner or manager?) was very rude with her staff. Today's visit had me initially sad not finding my beloved layer cake on a revamped menu, but my cashier came to the rescue with a hack! Cashier also relayed the special order to the kitchen AND made my mimosa. When checking out they made sure I knew my tip was completely optional but I was impressed with this level of service/customization at counter order. Food was yummy; plus drink was fresh squeezed delicious and beautifully presented. Biscuits today were fluffy and seemed improved as did the potatoes! Have a look at the menu if its been a minute since visiting, and enjoy this neighborhood restaurant that we need more of! We were traveling to Navarro Beach and decided to grab a quick bite before arriving to the condo. I thought this place might be similar to the Nashville Biscuit Company. I was not. Im not a big fan of the order at the counter and then pick up your food later style restaurant. This place is completely self serve and thats fine but they really should take the tip option off the pay screen. What are you tipping for? To hand me my food when you call my name. The pricing in my opinion shouldnt be this high for completely self serve. The portions were a good size. I got the Cowboy Biscuit Plate and some kind of potato medallions. The Biscuit was good and the steak was not bad but the gravy was a little to thick. I think it had been sitting for a while. The potatoes for me. Were not very good and I love all types of potatoes. The consistency was kind up mushy and they tasted like they had been reheated in a microwave. I got the sweet tea but had to change to coke. It was so sweet it made my teeth hurt.... lol Overall its not a bad place. I would be willing to try something else in the future. I would have given them a 3.5 but yelp dont offer that. It wasn't quite a 4 star for me. The staff was pleasant and seemed to be helpful but the dining area could use more attention. The tables could use better cleaning and the condiments rack should be gone through to get the older nasty bottles replaced. My family liked several of the food items they received. This time it was disappointing. The food came out cold and tasted like the cook hates their life. It was missing components and when I went up to the front to ask for it in a little cup the cook said loud enough for me to hear " I PUT IT ON THERE". Well they didn't otherwise I wouldn't be taking time to come up to the front to tell you it's missing and I would like it in a cup. The cashier girl was nice and so was another lady but the cooks should work on their attitudes and have more passion with the food they are putting out to the public. read more

Lots of seating inside and out (umbrellas galore to thwart the sun), low top and high top tables, seating 2-4 but can also pushed together for groups Fresh squeezed OJ, the staff chatted with me until we both decided what it was I'd want. Turns out, I didn't get a biscuit at all, but a "poke bowl" with everything that made me smile I think the menu calls them brunch bowls, and there's a keto option. Unfortunately they were out of the usual potatoes, but allowed me to add a couple of "fried potato cake", made with chives and other seasonings. I was in the mood for some warm-fluffy-biscuits and was pleasantly surprised by this place. First, the biscuits paired with the B2 jam is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. 12/10. Second, if you're a fan of churros, the iced cinnamon biscuits have a similar taste. They are sweet and not too overwhelming. 8/10. Third, the food options we selected, The Cowboy and the O'Ryan Bowl, were good. No "wow" factor on either however, The Cowboy was definitely more flavorful. One of our favorite brunch locales. Usually very busy on the weekend. You order and pay at the counter l, then give an answer to a different question (ie your favorite vacation) which is what they call when your order is ready for pick up. The Sticky Maple is so delicious. Difficult to eat with your hands/like a biscuit but the perfect balanced bite. Also had the Farmer with apple butter which is my daughter's favorite. The potatoes are not on the menu but were good - one with cheese and one with Cajun seasoning. Self serve fountain drinks and coffee. Also have flavored lemonade which was good. read more

I was in with a friend on 12/04/25. It was pouring rain and we had to walk nearly all the way around the building to get to designated entry, even though there were at least 2 doors nearer to the parking lot. We were drenched. I ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheese biscuit. When it arrived, there was a slice of cold cheese on top of the eggs & bacon. I took my plate back & asked an employee to melt the cheese. I noticed she left the top on the biscuit and placed it under the food warming shelf instead of removing top & broiling it. The cheese was limper when it was returned to me, but it was still not melted. Even though there were few customers in the place and many employees available, I gave up on simply getting melted cheese from a possibly undertrained staff. The biscuit did not appear to be freshly baked. It was more of a commercially prepared one. Improvement is needed if they claim to be a biscuit company in the deep South, the biscuit capital of the world! Meh. read more

We have been here twice. The first time was okay in service, food, and experience, but I will say the second was much better. I think they have embraced the brand more and upped the charm. No gravy or anything to go with the chicken. We went back and bought some gravy so it wasn't just straight fried chicken. They give you the tiniest bit of syrup. The Bluegrass grits bowl was a disappointing. The grits were good, but plain (unseasoned) which is why they give you hot sauce. The hot sauce is a standard Louisiana hot sauce...not for me. They put semi-melted cheese on top of the grits, which was unappealing to me. My husband liked the smashbrowns. He added 2 eggs to go on top. However, I will not be returning--the size of the biscuits are now 1/2 the size they were in the past :( and my usual delicious order was now just ho-hum. Cute little biscuit and breakfast spot in Mobile. Upon entering, it feels quite rustic but welcoming with lots of seating options. Parking lot was a decent size as well. The staff greeted me a good morning, asked for my order, and proceeded with a question to which my answer would be my cue to get my food. What a creative and fun idea! There were so many ways you could build your breakfast or biscuit. I just got the sausage egg and cheese biscuit. Made quickly, less than 5 minutes. It was a bit smaller than I had expected but good. This place is amazing! A friend and I visited this place before heading downtown for Mardi Gras. It is a little away from downtown and other shopping centers, which was nice because it is a quieter, less trafficked area. We parked in the large lot behind the restaurant, which was mostly empty at 8 am. You walk up and order at the counter here, and someone calls your name when your food is ready. My friend and I both ordered the Squawking Goat biscuit, and our food came out very quickly after we found seats. The meal was very good. I can truly say, I have not had fried chicken that fresh, crunchy, and tasty in a long time. The sweet pepper jelly and toasted goat cheese were incredible and paired great with the whole sandwich. My only complaints would be that the biscuits themselves are not anything special; they are definitely on the dryer side, which makes them good for sandwiches. Also as much as I liked the jelly, I felt it had too much and masked the flavor of the chicken (which was so good it practically did not need it). All in all, we loved our breakfast and were already planning another visit. It was clean, quick, tasty, and filling. We left happy and ready to take on Mardi Gras! read more

Our family was traveling back to Houston from Pensacola and we decided to go a bit out of our way to visit this spot for lunch. It was well worth the extra time added to our trip. The biscuits were amazing, sausage gravy was elite, the biscuit French toast with the vanilla crème and strawberries was heaven and the maple chicken biscuit, you would think the biscuit would be the champ? Nope the chicken breading was light and crunchy, almost like Korean fried chicken, with just a touch of heat. The savory of the chicken with the maple syrup was perfection. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I tried to tip but they said they don't take tips anymore because of a pay increase from ownership. Another reason to frequent this business! We're from Houston which is one of the restaurant capital of the US, but this place would easily win a "best of Houston" award. It's difficult if you're disabled trying to manage carrying the plates to your seat because you order and then they call your name to come get it. There's so much to say about this place! I tried it yesterday because I needed a bite before work, and it didn't disappoint. I walked in the door and took note of the quirky decor on the walls. I took a look at the menu, which wasn't overly extravagant, and quickly decided on the Five and Dime. Then the guy asked me "If you could invite anybody over for Thanksgiving, who would it be?" I paused for a second, looked at my shirt, and answered "DB Cooper, so I could ask him how he did it." Seemed like an odd question, but it made sense a few minutes later. So I get my cup, fill it up, and go to a table, and wait. A few minutes later, they call out an order for DB Cooper! I knew it had to be mine, so I went and got it. What I didn't know was that this was about to be an epic breakfast! What I saw was a biscuit, piled high with bacon, egg, cheese, and chicken tenders, completely smothered in country gravy! If I have one complaint, the gravy was a bit too spicy for my tastes, but it had a great flavor, so I'm not letting that minor gripe impact my score. This thing was fantastic, filling, and flavorful, all at a price I could live with! Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere is great. They were very accommodating of our dietary needs and the coffee and food are amazing.

The food was OK. We ate it but it was clear that this would not be a place we would return to. The place was not clean. We had to wash our table top ourselves and nothing is provided for you to do so. I went and got paper towels and hand sanitizer and rubbed the table of food and sticky syrup for quite a time. I guess it had been building up for a few guests. You bus your own tables and that was really gross! Your dirty station is right besides your clean station. Who does that? Finally I requested a military discount, as I always do, and they said they give out free biscuits for that. I said that was fine. Those biscuits were way old, knock them on the table bang bang old. It's way overpriced for what it is, there's no quality control, though the egg yolks were runny the way I like them the whites were like a strip of wax paper with black char on it. No good. There was one meal that I liked "the best" but it really doesn't matter because most everything was unrecognizable and you could not decide or determine what you were eating. Dead flies and bugs(see photo) in the condiment boxes are very uninviting. I personally did not like having to select "my spirit animal" to be "called by" when my order was ready. It is the promotion of a particular religion and is not appropriate. You could've worded it differently to remove spirituality from it to make it just fun but you didn't. So when I selected a spirit animal outside of their choices, I could hear the chatter in the kitchen area over my selection and I found that to be very rude and disrespectful. Very much enjoyed my visit one day last week, to the Mobile, AL branch of this southeast regional biscuit chain. Plenty of parking. Stepped up to the counter where we were warmly greeted by the hip, college-aged staff. Placed my order for "The Five", a delicious biscuit with a fried, breaded chicken breast & bacon, all smothered in sausage gravy. Yes, it's as good as it sounds! If you're an egg lover, the "The Five & Dime" is the version you'll want. My brunch date had the hash brown cake and a side of bacon. We selected a table in the casual dining room and grabbed a cup of coffee from the self-serve coffee bar, while waiting for our order to be called, which is based on your answer to a random question they ask when you place your order. (My question... "Which New Years resolution will you break first?") Fun & games aside, every bite was culinarily satisfying. The best biscuit and gravy I've ever eaten? No, but still damned good! Awesome fresh-squeezed OJ, too. The prices may be a little high given the lack of table service, but they don't accept tips (I tried), so it all balances out.
