Great cut, fun talking, nothing pretentious! Why to I avoid the pretentious- try living in Putnam county 30 years - hearing the same people, who've at charity events, you helped arrange. So not relaxing at a spa. Gossip you can get at any salon. Peace, and an owner doesn't try to sell you more, or dismiss your requests, that rare!!! Love this place. Will be back for my highlights! But... lo and behold, we called Aldo and they offered to open up, just for us! We got there promptly at 9am, and two of the nicest sweetest ladies were waiting for us. I promptly plopped myself in a chair and told the woman very little directions: "up, neat but not too neat". And then... she worked magic! I was SUPER impressed with how well my hair came out, and I think this may be my most favorite up-do from the millions of weddings I've been in!! My friends were also super impressed, and I loved the bargain price of $60 for an updo! The 3 of us were out of there by 10:30, and even the high priced NY stylists (who were working on the bride) were also impressed with how well our hair came out!! The ladies were also just SUPER nice, and super accommodating... I think I called them about four or five times changing the number of ladies who needed an updo during the course of one week! It is both a hair salon and a barber (who does beard trimmings and hot shaves!).

At work the other day and a Contractor walks in, takes one look at me and says what the hell did you do to your hair? Without hesitation I looked at him and said 'how do you know this is not what I wanted?' He looks me dead in the eye and says 'there is no way in hell that is what you would ever want' . At a meeting generating ideas to drive programs. I said well if we meet the goal- could shave my head - coworker responds 'you're almost there' another responds 'could only help' Wore my hair down for a couple mins in a back office out of public sight. (Wearing bobby pins and pulling back to hide my chop job is painful) a coworker walks in looks at me and asks if maybe it would help if I cut the tail off because it almost looks like a mullet. Came home from my appointment with Debbie. My son looks at me and says 'wow they really did a number on your hair. You actually paid someone for that?' Went to see Debbie based off a coworkers hair. It's simple, clean and her color is nice so I decided to give her a try. Since this was my first visit with Debbie I was very clear - I do not do brown because it is mousy and unflattering on me. I do not do ash because it ALWAYS turns and I was ok with losing length in the back as needed but I do not do Bob's and short layers up front. We have all had not so great hair cuts and colors. Then we have had the BAD haircuts. I have had 2 BAD hair cuts in my life. This being the second. It was all I could do not to cry right there in the chair. I walked out of there with layers up top that give me a mushroom pouf on top of my head. When I straighten it I have a late 70's early 80's horrifying feathery elongated bowl cut. The only thing missing is the tragic straight-line -cut-way-too-short bangs. And too add insult to injury my hair is an awful mousy brown with gray tips. I showed her a pic of the color and style I always get. The only difference is I asked for my roots to be left darker. I wouldn't be so disturbed if I didn't know that what I want is something I get done religiously. It is beyond me how this went so tragically wrong. Maybe I should have gone to Sharon. I was in a wedding party(maid of honor) and we actually had all the girls hair and makeup done by the hairdressers at Salon Doriano. At the time I was living 6 hrs away. The hair and makeup for everyone came out great and everyone was completed in time -- STRESS FREE. So now that I find myself back here I was pretty excited. My hair was kind of a two toned ombré mess before stepping into the salon and I honestly wasn't even sure how to fix it so it looked healthier and flowed better. My appointment was with Melissa and she was amazing. Besides being super easy to talk too, she really knew what she was doing and completely transformed my hair. I'd say i'm not usually the easiest to please when it comes to my hair but I absolutely love my new hair color and cut.
